That line “pots are cheap, lives are irreplaceable” great captain
Absolutely, a great captain, more worried his crew than gear.
Exactly....cut a line off like that....unreal....Capt Keith is right....lots of people don't like him...but hell id work with him any day...make me some $$
@@JAppJohnAndrewPatrickPeters they dont like him because he is so good lol. one of the biggest vessels in the fleet and he provides for his crew every year.. keith is a legend
@@laurbster2680 100% dude and despite what the camera crew says he cares about his crew!!
What if pots were expensive?
didn't watch the show in years, used to be one of my favourites. How amazing that most of the guys are still there fighting against the ocean. They for sure look older, but still tough as rocks!
The stress these guys endure is no joke.
2:29 that was the most epic shot of the whole show
BTW ...The knowledge Wild Bill has is....unreal! ...that man never stops fishing
He has been fishing for 40 plus years and in Navy before that so he is definitely made to be a crab fisherman.
@@scottknode898 I knew he was something else the moment the Hillstrands started raving about how great he was. Next season, he shows up with his own boat, and we got to see it first hand. The Hillstrands weren't joking. Dude can fish with the best of them.
Excellent teamwork, that guy laying on top was key. He was going to say goodbye to that foot before letting go of his mate.
Takes a huge amount of guts just to keep on with the job at hand.not only the victim is affected in this situation. Nobody wants to lose anyone at the end of the day 🙌🙏🏻
Anyone else get chills when the guys just dropped his weight on him. Saw what happened and didn't think just dropped. He owes them two a few cases of beer there
The fact that another crew member dove on top of him to keep him pinned down while the rope was being cut actual both surprised and frightened me. I was surprised because it didn't make sense to me but I was also frightened because I thought that both men would go overboard
It’s actually common way to save someone, keep him pinned down while the line is cut
Standard procedure😅
1 crew jumps on the tangled and doubles his weigth
another goes to untangle
Still so addictive to watch them fish all these yrs later! Good job guyz
It wasn’t a steel line. It was rope That pined his foot to the steel rail. The other hand was able to cut the rope in time before it got tight.
Who ever is in charge of these uploads for discovery needs to watch the footage for themselves.
Its clickbait... Also called fake news. It gets views. Less dramatic titles dont get the views. Its intentional
Well, could it still have killed him? or would it have just cut his foot off?
@@Glitch-Gremlin it would snap his foot off or drag him off board, once he’s on the water if the rope still tangle to his foot he’d be drowned
People without back issues just can’t understand the hell
Two perferated discs against my spinal cord, was a living hell for three months
Just being born and having a bad back off the get go is pretty shitty to 25 and my feet already randomly go numb stay in certain positions and a lot of the times will take my breath away
I feel that.
@@Hoparistic I am coming up just on month 4. I feel ya.
@@Kriswixx it was 3 months of hell for me because that's how long it was before they were able to give me my first steroid injection. I spent two of those months in bed and one just trying to get around enough to where my muscles didn't quit. It's been about 9 months for me now, I'm slowly getting better. I hope you're able to get steroid injections and an eventual epidural. That and the Dave system physical therapy has helped me a lot. I'm now to the point to where I only need a cane for stairs and inclines and I hope to be completely rid of it soon. Best of luck on the rest of your journey my man.
Love how the deckhand was like that's a big wave coming up. Bill just looks at him like try 35ft in the baring sea 🤣🤣
Props to the dude in red for jumping on top of the kid. Scary!
You know you work for a veteran when they pull out the paper plate notepad 😂 something I've seen many of times 🤙
Lmao "Stalin's red army " 😂😂😂 The fucking crabs are nicknamed Stalin's red army 😂😂😂
Don't be a little more careful young man it could cost you your life as you're well aware. Stay on point your life depends on it and the lives of others.
Te admiro tanto capitán ❤ dios te bendiga 😇😍👍🙏🏼
It Takes Guts to do this Job.Its Sad when Someone gets hurt!
Keep those feet planted boys! 🙏🏽♥️⚓️
Glad he made it
Thanks🔝
The way the water comes onto the deck i DO NOT understand how they aren't all washed overboard on a regular basis
I like his take on human lives 👍
The lowkey flex of reindeer sausage is nice touch
glad to see keith and mouse joking it up
Wild Bill don't miss a penny does he.
I like how his brother is wearing one of those Pro Bassmaster free ball cap. I got a free ball cap just like it myself. lol
Everyone and their grandmother in the Midwest is wearing that hideous cap lol.
That was close!
That will wake the hardest of junkies up I mean deckhands. Same thing
For a 35 footer that "Trondsen" boat rides very well on the sea.
That's me. When I retired my old boss had to hire four guys.
Wild Bill needs to learn to use his equipment. There is Barentswatch module on Olex he is using where he needs to mark his spots. Btw those 35ft Selfa boats are beasts
If you listened he said if power to the computer goes out. I get what you’re saying but in this case
@@davewenners6722 well, barentswatch is a onlineservice, so no worries there. And allmost all newer builds have etc Olex on UPS systems aswell, aswell as GMDSS.
This happened to me and I met Davey Jones
Two and a Half Million Years ago 😂😂
3:20 is this guy really crossed eyed or is he just fucking around? 🤣🤣
Cute boat
Tyler had a baby 😮😮 Prayers for the mans japseye
I can't believe that dude had a Baby 😂 that's incredible
Prayers for the mans japseye 🙏
My friend son gave birth to a baby as well
@@peterllwllnTell HER congratulations! She is ❤️
Interesting how he fell before his leg was pulled.
I'd try my hardest with a job like this. The money that can be made is uncapped
I’m tempted myself, but it’s much, much more difficult and grueling than it looks; you’d have to deal with freezing temperatures, and no sleep for hours with almost no end, and risk of injury if you’re new.
Oh yeah that wind would be something else
I’d do it in my underwear
wish we could have seen bill and nick in norway.. you know bill would have brought him. landon is a close 2nd.
Old episode they catches many crab 🙆
This may be a stupid question. But what’s green water? At 3:33 they mention it.
Phew, lucky it didn't rip his leg off.
Kieth seems like a good guy. I get that all those captains are chasing money above all, but at least Keith knows what's more important at the end of the day. Not sure if I can say the same about Bill. Unless you're a tweaker who is jumping with energy with no sleep for 3 days, Bill is gonna think you're lazy lol
That must have scared the life out of him
why is it always the same boats that have near death experiences ?
"Steal Line" But cuts with a Knife...
No way is the crane cadge 1ton id be shocked if its quarter of that and steel wire he asks for knife bollox
It’s a rope dude
Can't get sloppy on a fishing boat
Why is bill in the schmeet?
What an absolutely horrifying thought, being caught and dragged to the oceans depths by a mass of steel. Good thing they cut it quick, would've been horrendous.
I think old boy needs some glasses
Had a gym Buddy, Daytona Beach, Snagged a Position as a Greenhorn on a Crab Boat, Alaska,,,,,,,,,,He wasnt a Young Man,,,,,,,But strong as an Ox, 😎
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can someone tell me why bill wasnt fishing crab on the summer bay? Why was bairdi closed for him but not the wizard?
Could have been something to do with a shipyard bill. Or something very odd tho
Alaska's Left-wing Government did not allow Summer Bay to operate this Season
@@alpha34098 quotas preserve the fisheries
I wana invent something so this can’t happen or at least prevent it from happening Itl have to be sum that is strong easy to use and easy to fix
F*CK the boys where right on that line......amazing!!....DECK BOSS FTW!...WOW
i wish i made enough money to retire that young
Lol 😂 don’t we all haha
Worst captain in the bearing sea makes me sick
Yet Captain Wild Bill has been in the industry for 40 years plus
TVE CON VIRUELA DE LA MONA ROJA.
FIN.
Younger brother retired? What he invest in bitcoin or something?
Hate me or not, it sorta looked staged. idk I feel like his foot/ankle would be actually snapped if that were actually a heavy rope line.
There is no insurance company in the world that would that would cover something like that stunt.
What you feel like doing make a difference to reality. The pot is sinking so it has enough tension to pull something, it wouldnt snap anything unless theres a big enough counter weight.
pause the video at 3:16 lol see what happens
Cross-eyed
That’s oj
Reason number one that I would never want to be a king crab boat Captain I never could ever forgive myself if Person was injured someone’s death while being a captain
I could lol They know what their in for its called being tough and manning the f up.
won't lie this is scary but I'm more scared of going paralysed from 2000lbs of bovine 🤣 drops his jaw over a 2ft wave nah totally not scripted
Let's go catch some 🦀WHAT..... Are You 🤪...Maannnnn F ...Them 🦀 bring me to my 🏠
Why is there a cut everytime before it happens, you've got 3 cameras on this dude not one was watching it happen lmao, I hate the fakeness of discovery these days.
This was made for TV. Which means intense events like these are left on a cliffhanger, then commercials are rolled out, and then the show resumes and they show what happens.
@@killburndeluxe Commercial or not this is edited for UA-cam, nothing happened.
@@Sprier yes it did at 6:55… his foot gets caught in the line just after he threw it overboard… his leg gets dragged and it could have either dragged him over or cut off his blood supply to his foot… not good either way
@@zachall101 Bruh he throws the first bundle of rope, all good, second bundle, all good. There's a guy behind him with the end end you can see the rope floating way above his ankle cut to captain, "alright boys get this over" and all of a sudden he's getting dragged. You can't be this naive
They do it with every other show too. It's not the show it used to be.
Old news….why you uploading same videos over and over or posting them like 1-2 weeks late 🤦♂️
They’re worth watching over and over again
5/8 poly is NOT steel: a steel cable would have taken his foot off: I'm getting tired of these click bait headers.
love the paper plate bit for TV, You could just tell on the kids face what a load of shit that was.. cringe af.
I think hes just old. He could have used the equipment on board to mark the spots. Nothing unusual about writing on whatevers at hand lol
It's a thing common with veterans I've seen it plenty of times
Captain keiffee the crippler greenhorn save half a percent in wages plenty of 1 percent fisherman don't have a job I'd guess lambs to the slaughter
cut the line"🤣🤣 this show fake asf the dude was good😂😂
It does look rehearse...
Bruh no he wasn't. You haven't a clue
Never been on a fishing boat?
@@klaasweerstand1677 its cleary fake dude they acted tf outa that scene lol
Why even when reshowing the replay of what happened there's a cut, dude had the rope clear lmfao. Cut everytime boom his leg is attached (doesn't even look like it) and buddy "cuts the rope"
Great script bad acting.
