Every crew member and the captain kept their composure in a maximum stress dangerous situation, respect.
I freaking love Rip. He’s like a Southern California surfer bro turned badass crab captain. Love it.
You know I like this captain he cares for the crew unlike so many other boats.
Thumbs up to the producer that sewed Camerons thumb up.👍
it is good to see them helping out since they are there and not just for their own staff but for the boat as well
@@timothykappel198 you ever heard of butterfly stitches, regardless of if i am wrong or not he had a medical trained person to help out for which him and most of us are grateful
He definitely did 😊 there is a lot of BS on these shows, but Todd Stanley is NOT. You should ask him yourself!
The producers have medical training to a point they have too it’s an insurance thing.
the Vicky lee seems like a close crew
usually I would have thought the skipper would tell him to get back on deck, but he told him to get better, and the guys were also ok with it, and more concerned about his safety.
Patricia Lee. If the guy was still shaky, he should drink OJ and rest to bring his blood levels up.two days might be okay
its a shame patricia lee has not been in from the start since the captain hits the big orders just about everytime through good and bad,
the thing is until you get part of your hand damaged most folks do not realise how much it limits you on just an every normal day.
best wishes for a safe return always lads, from a geordie
Deadliest catch was down a couple of boats. Summer Bay and the Northwestern was at the docks while the captains were working in Norway. Next season the northwestern will have clark in the captain's chair and the Saga might be staying in port. Sig. Mandy, and Jake were working in Norway.
Hearing Todd's name brought me back to Cornelia Marie with Captain Phil Harris. So glad to see him still with the TV show and trade. Thank you Todd!! Also big thank you to Rip for not scolding the crew member and humbling for help from tv crew. Thank you!
You guys are amazing, we “love your show”. Stay safe 😁👍🏻
Props to the producer!
Wild bill needs to take lessons from this captain
I like these videos keep goings guys 💯
Hope your better now Cameron ❤️🙏👍
All that worry and he didn't even have to get needle and thread stitches! It's the anticipation that gets ya, I know all too well. I have a terrible fear of needles too, I turn white and nearly pass out at the sight of one nearing my skin.
imagine getting a 130k bonus.
Super glue guys. Super glue
Cool Capt
its refreshing to see a crew thats not run by sig, thats understanding abotu a injury usually there like fuk it charge ahead anyways
Man alive, the thumb has nearly the most nerve endings of anywhere in the body. That had to have been very painful
I feel bad for him, I get the same exact way. One time I ripped open my index finger via a can opener and had tunnel vision followed by my ears ringing and the feeling I was going to pass out
I didn’t see any stitches!
What brand and model knife? Made easy work of thick ropes
Victorinox. The classic "Little Vicky" deck knife used by commercial fishermen everywhere!
That poor guy
First time I’ve seen this boat or crew. Weird boat layout
Lil' Vicky is vicious when she's new..
When i was three, my two year old sister split her thumb nail in half from sucking it, ever since ive been terrified of injuries to fingers and nails
Ok. Big Difference between actual stitches and using butterfly closures.
Not even remotely the same. Smh
I would have passed out tbh
Oh come on now. Big tough fisherman can’t get a couple stitches
almost cut to the bone you try it without crying tears when you need your hands in everything you do AND to stay safe handling 800lbs of steel pots
@@jjhry177 yes I am. Im not a nice guy, I have a mean streak and ill meet ANYONE half way to throw these bag of bones you call a fist. Happy fishing BOY!
i thought they ment proper stitches nor buterfly stitches
Sing me a rainbow my dude.
Interesting technique he die on his thumb I might copy that for my own practice
Superglue bro, superglue
Old boy has tattoos everywhere, but needless make him sick. Irony!
It’s not nearly the same thing tho man, it’s a mental game our minds take us thru and some can’t handle it. It’s just how some of us are wired, but tattoos are a completely different story and aren’t a big deal. Yeah, it is crazy, but it’s the power of the human mind!
Not the same thing. You can't see the needles of a tattoo gun and the feeling isn't even the same.
The long line shit don't ever seem to workout very good. Scared of needles?? Look at him. Lol
For those saying it isn't stitches. Those are called 'butterfly stitches', so no the title isn't actually wrong.
Actually they are NOT butterfly stitches, they are Butterfly Closures ( bandaids). Yes, there are Butterfly Stitches but this was not them. Its a kind of bandaid in short but not stitches. Two completely different things. No needles or actual stitches involved here
He turned really pale.
Tuna?
Duct tape & keep rolling
Rip has killed one crew member almost killed a second and injured many more. And no wonder, look and the dangerous setup they have on deck.
wasn't Rip's fault the guy can't cut a line without cutting his thumb in the process
for a fucking paper cut!!!!!!! wtf
Those aren't stitches
That was just a bandage job, not stitches.
There not stitches if there's no needle n thread that's tape
They aren't Butterfly stitches, they are called Butterfly Closures or Butterfly bandaid. Butterfly Stitches are an actual stitching technique. What they did was bandage it up, no stitching involved. Sorry
Coming from someone who lost a finger and had it stitched backed on that was a joke 😂 and that was not stitches and was a gash bandage
So is this also fake UA-cam experts?
Tattoos up his neck and needles bother him
Im a roofer and there's few things sharper then a brand new hook blade , even the tiniest slices bleed about 10000000x more blood then this ? N now the guy queasy? I thought tough guys were fisherman
All those tattoos and he can't handle a cut and stitches
Paper cut and gets two days off wtf
seriously this dude with tats all over his body is pale in the face and throwing up because of that tiny cut on his thumb? Jake's neice handled her cut way better just saying...this is kinda funny.
Are you serious? That little scratch caused all that and couple days off. The younger generation of males just seem soft to me. No, not all of them, but the majority. Next time get super glue and go back to work.
Bro is in shock. Been there not cool
Hey, that wasn't stitches
Need an open stern to fish trawls, way to deadly doing that
This is long lining, I think. the pots were deployed via a door in the stern but the line can't he hauled aboard with a crane. problem is some of the lines got messed up.
Hold on … your fishing on a boat to where u can die at any moment, and your scared of stitches? Come on man
Cut didn't look to bad but I'm not there so...
Usually on Deadliest Catch, a crew member will get hurt and the captain will go totally berserk and get mad at the dude who gets hurt. Very cool skipper this guy is.
pretty sure they get mad cuz they probably either tell them to be careful or whatever hell i work in a fab shop and when accidents happen our boss gets mad and says y’all know the dangers that’s why we always say be safe
I think the captains act mad to mask their emotion. It's what tough guys do. These skippers are terrified of losing the men under them and when one gets hurt it scares them. But they're not gonna show fear so they get angry instead.
@@evalevy2909wouldn’t say it’s what “tough guys” do, it’s ok to show your emotions js. And it deffo doesn’t make u tough by not doing that. Rip was good here but he could be an asshole in other ways
