Zach is such an asset to this boat and would have been a lot lesser if they did not have him. It is so incredibly sad seeing that his father does not acknowledge or even see that fact. He is too old of a senile man to see what’s right in front of his face.

Zach is a producte of a father who couldn't manage work and family and very selfish.
I will never understand why anybody has any respect whatsoever for “Wild Bill”. That man is a disaster waiting to happen. Super Donkey. Why anybody goes to work for him is beyond me. Something is seriously wrong with this man. Seriously. When he’s on, we change the channel.

Jake was never going to be the Captain of the Northwestern, that's a family business if there ever was one.

I swear bill would have preferred to have Nick as his son then zach. It is so sad to see that because zach is such an amazing fisherman and individual that taught other younger fishermen.
I don't think its Zach. Bill seems to be bitter about his past and taking it out on Zach instead of dealing with his past. My guess, Bill must still have issues with the mother of Zach. I see it all of the time from parents of breakups!

These captain's don't have enough appreciation for the effort that deckhands put in just being there. It's easy to talk about drive and motivation when you're sitting in a chair watching over people who are working all day and night.
All captains started at the bottom. To be a captain is to be responsible for life. Not easy at all..

@Daniel Worthington Recently only UA-cam. I stopped watching t.v. years ago when we had an earthquake in my town and I later realised what an absolute waste of time watching television is.
I wanna get Zack in the wheelhouse but he’s got a lot to learn. Well then get him in there so he can learn duh.
He doesn't like being around his father that much. Bill, like most fathers from that era, had instilled in them growing up that a man provides for his family and as fishermen, they're away from home a lot. He's acknowledged that fact but he provided for them. Private schools, nannies and a very comfortable life growing up. What more can you ask from a man, husband and father? Zach is a softer man because he was raised by his mother and nannies his whole life. It pu**ifies men.

I can't believe the Cape Caution is only 108ft . It seems way bigger than that from the captain's chair.
100ft is still pretty big especially when your on in but compared to the others on the show it's definitely smaller. Most crab boats are this size. They picked the biggest most successful boats to be on the show.
