For getting your hands clean, here in Germany we have something called Handwaschpaste. A far as I can tell it is a specialized soap with abrasives already mixed into the formula. The good stuff is really gentle with your skin, doesn't dry it out completely but removes literally everything from really sticky pine tar to oxidized industrial strength grease with ease. That stuff is awesome.
Thank you SO MUCH for the business card trick. I've never been able to get my disk brakes calibrated correctly. They're always either too loose or too tight.
A word of caution; wd-40 can lift the decals and stickers off the bike . Also I have found that the little red reach tube on the wd-40 works great for removing hand grips it allows for a small lubricant air channel between the grip and bar . Note ; if the grips are going to the trash can just slice them with a razor blade.
I saw you comments about making a schedule but please don't commit to one. After a while you will get creatively exhausted and you might loose your enthusiasm. I love your vids and sometimes the long wait makes me even more excited for your vids. Otherwise congrats with your channel, it's on fire man,
Thanks for noticing that! Most people think that UA-camrs just sit around all day and do whatever, but this is actually the hardest job I've ever had. Sometimes I need to put it down for a few days and collect my thoughts.
It has to do with youtube's new algorithm, forcing people to upload daily lower quality videos if they want to show up in peoples feeds, even if youre already a subscriber to the channel. Im not more educated than that on the new algorithms and its 4 am and english isnt my first language, so im probably not the right person to explain it in detail. But from what i know about it i can tell you that its not good for the content creators that brought youtube to where it is today and very good for the big companies with big budgets :)
Yo I'm like 5 foot and I have a bike that isn't a Walmart bike it's a decent mountain bike I got at my local bike shop for like $430 and it has 27inch wheels but I can't wheelie on it cuz I can't get the front end up got any tips? ,thank u
DYL SEAN Practice man, lots of practice. I have a 29er and i can wheel it alright now, whereas i couldnt do it at all a few months ago. Rely on your gear setting to get the front wheel up, i never use my arms at all i just put it in a really easy gear and stomp on the pedals. also, it helps alot to have your seat high enough, and to have your arms straight while you are doing the wheelie
Outstanding! I’ve been having issues getting my front discs to run freely from the brake pads and your hack with the business cards worked a treat! Thanks mate!
The Bike stand!!!!! YES!!!! Dude I have dropped my Fat tire bike over and over again. Why didn't I think of that idea? I have 2x4, a circular say, drill screws, everything! Thank you so much!!!!! For basic bike cleaning, the armor all rags work perfectly and leave a nice finish screen on the frame and for skewer lock, I personally prefer the pinheads. They're a bit expensive but definitely worth the investment. Just make sure to cut the extra flush to the locking ring.

The 4x2 bike stand is good, I just made one from some short ends of lighter material and some metal brackets. Tips - they work best if 22" (55cm) long, you can make them shorter but they are less effective. 18"/45cm is a minimum effective length. Also 12" (30cm) wide only works if the tyre is a very snug fit and the bike is almost completely upright. 18"/45cm is more stable if not.
Hey Seth, just letting you know that this video was the first time I subscribed to you, and then I watch every single one of your videos until now. Keep up the good work dude
When using the level to check if your seat is level, it is probably a good idea to use the level to first check if the surface your bike is on is level. This is an extra step, but it should not take much time. If you know the surface your bike is on is level then you do not need this extra step. This idea of checking the surface your bike is on with a level will only work if the surface is flat. If for example you try to level your seat when your bike is on a grass lawn, then when you use the level to measure if the lawn is level, you will not get an accurate measurement.
Seth the 2x4 idea is just plan genius ! and I never knew wd-40 would clean gunk off. can you do a video about cycling through mud rain and darkness (I saw your mtb lights video) and I live in Scotland and at this time of year its dark at 4 pm and rains a lot of the time and as I live on an island I can't travel to dryer places quickly so any tips or tricks and staying clean or dry in the harsher weather thanks and love the video !

@Flippy Dip Why though? If you are worried about weight or your bike snagging something then you can use a detachable kickstand as well. Just use whenever you want to and remove when you don't have any use. It's super lightweight as well maybe around 150gms.
@Flippy Dip It seems like the way I use my MTB is very different from the way you use it. I use it for both off road and for commuting so it's extremely important for me to have a stand so that I can park anywhere. If you are only parking in 1 spot like in a garage then you don't need a stand at all. 👍
@Flippy Dip Its assuming you have a place to park so that after locking the cycle it stays upright. If there is just a plain field to park with no poles for support, stand is the only option. Secondly while riding if you want to park your cycle outside a store just for a couple of minutes then locking and unlocking will be time consuming.
Heres a tip from the motorcycle world about installing grips: Use Windex (or similar) liberally on the bar and inside the grip. While its wet, itll act almost like soap and help things slide, and itll evaporate leaving the bar and grip sticky-ish helping adhesion. I do this to all my grips and after it dries its quite nice to not have a grip rotating unexpectedly.
For the 2x4 bike stands: make one for your widest tires, then use board of appropriate width as shims when you want to use your stand with a bike having narrower tires.
BUSINESS CARDS!! ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!! OMG i struggle so hard trying to get a super response brake setup!! This should work awesome! Never thought to stick anything in there before!

omg, the hair clip for the chain is sooo simple. I feel myself an idiot couse I can not figure it out by myself... I made several idiotic mechanism to block the derailleur from stretching the chain until I remove it.
trialboj I use a 8" ziptie through the links near where I am braking it. I find that zip ties tend to be closer to me than a hair clip. but both will definitely help
Do not use WD40 on your chain, it will run well but if you spray it on the chain on the freewheel the solvent will flow into the bearings, dissolve the grease and destroy the freewheel. I destroyed 2 freewheel this way.
Hi Seth. I have a question. For adjusting your break calipers, what do the buisness cards do? Can't you just use the brake rotor instead? I'm planning on adjusting the breaks on my Bike. I have hydraulic breaks and they're starting to rub on the rotor. Thanks for the help in this video!👍
I built a bike stand after watching this video. Immediately turned around and my bike fell over. Turns out my floor is WAY more out of level than I thought, and the bike was on carpet. Combo of those things meant CRASH!
Seth, some good hacks. Try this for getting thick grime or even tar off skin. Apply a thin oil like vegetable oil to skin and rub. The thin oil will thin, loosen, and disperse the grime from skin. If deep, like under finger nails, use a brush to loosen the grime, rinse with soapy water. Comes right off and does not roughen skin. Try it.

Rubbing alcohol lets you easily slide grips on and off. And it flashes off quickly.
That said, I really only use lock on grips these days.

Thanks for the stand idea. I built one for my buddy. Works great :-)
Seth's bike🚲 racks alone are GOLD !

Can i leave the wd-40 on the bike after using it to clean? or do i need to use fresh water to clean it off?
leave it
Comment_User never do that wtf dude
Leave it on your rims walls as well as your disks too !
wipe it off WD is a solvent, and it can damage your paint
Do not use WD40 on your chain, it will run well but if you spray it on the chain on the freewheel the solvent will flow into the bearings, dissolve the grease and destroy the freewheel. I destroyed 2 freewheel this way.
