He missed the "rescue" videos. There are entire channels based on the premise of "randomly finding" near dead animals and "nursing them back to health."
And all of those puppies and kittens seem eerily similar from previous rescue videos....
Hells, I hate those videos

Fck, when I found abandoned kitten I brought it to my aunt without even filming it
Don't forget the turtle versions, where they glue barnacles to freshwater turtles, scrape them off the shell on video, and release the freshwater turtle into the ocean.
there are some legit ones from well known rescue organizations, but many are from poor countries where they just abuse an animal to "help it"

He missed an entire level to this iceberg. There are animal “rescue” channels where they save animals from perilous situations and rehabilitate them, but they clearly put the animal in that situation to begin with. Some of the worst offenders was staging or at least allowing a mother cat be eaten by a snake and then “rescuing” the kittens. At least that is an example that always stands out to me.
Yea I was sure to hear about that near the end of the iceberg

Also the animal "vore" videos, where people feed living baby animals to others, not only mouses, things like cats, dogs even a fkn baby crocodile
The people scraping barnacles off turtles are pretty bad too, because they don't understand a turtle's shell is part of it's body/skeleton, and it has feelings in it's shell, so if they don't do it properly (which they usually don't know how to) they could hurt the turtle.
@@beauwalker9820 Yes! Animals have natural defenses that stop barnacle build up! When the animal still gets barnacles, it means they are sick, so they aren’t even really treating the real problem.

As a biologist, I know that it's common for wild animals to die from stress when taken away from their natural habitat. They simply refuse to eat, drink water, or over eat, their body immunity decreases, they get sick and die. Some animals show crear signs of stress like losing fur or mutilating themselves
Thank you for what you do
If i, someone who barely know the difference between a dog and a cat, see this as something horrible, you must be really pissed by this....
So they went out of their way to first 'find' the target animals, kidnapped them for a while until they look victimised enough before starting to film themselves finding and rehabilitating the animals.
So, fun fact, Zebras actually are fairly unable to support more than their own weight, and generally are willful and just not worth trying to tame. They suck as pack animals, you can't ride them, they are very wild and willful, and other than looking nice and tasting good, there is no real use for them when you can just get a donkey or a domestic horse.
For those who don't know, there's a whole subscience about how much the land can support

All social media is suffering from this. People throwing kittens, puppies, etc into rivers, wells, and holes, to act like they are saving them on camera.
And UA-cam totally fine with it but don't you dare post a video game with one drop of red blood or they will come for you!

This has been going on for years. It won't change unless we all leave youtube and threaten their bottom line. But we won't leave so they won't stop
i saw a video of kitten cry middle of the road and the camera men video it like 10' in every angle say he gonna save it
Don't forget all the reverse animal rescue video, where they starve and dirty down puppies and dogs to pretend to rescue them and they are just magically so friendly, as if wild animals would run up to nearest human they saw and ask for "help".
Yeah all those videos of a cat finding a home, they just lock their own cat outside and film it coming back to them pretending it's _fate_ lmao
I don't know what these ignorant viewers thinking to be honest. Its so obvious in just 10 seconds. See, Camera man always there to record right before people "stumble" upon those poor animal EVERYTIME for some reason. To think human can't see that Is so dumb! 😮💨 and instead they thanking them, subs and support them.
Assuming the animal wasn't physically abused of course they'll rush to humans for help.
This is such a weird point to make
The only time I think they might be legit is when it's like a dash cam picking up someone grabbing a kitten out of the street. But if you were to find an injured kitten or puppy outside somewhere, your first reaction probably wouldn't be to pull out your phone. And even if it was you wouldn't think to frame the video perfectly.

@@benjaminharrisiv650 You are going after the wrong people. Every year globally, about one third of all animals slaughtered for food gets thrown in the bin. Instead of wasting time making comments like that, you should be directing your attention and efforts to the restaurants and supermarkets that are causing this. In France a few years back, the government started to fine these restaurants and supermarkets for every piece of food that was discarded. If every country did this there would not be as many animals bred for slaughter and then killed. If you dislike the way modern works, then perhaps you should vote to change it.
So if the duck babies were later on eaten you would be ok with what happens to them?
@@maistein8936 worst take ive ever heard in my life, hunters and slaughter houses kill the animal as humanely as killing something can be. You're referencing torturing the animal and then eating it completely different, also cant eat baby ducks. bad take
I'm an Australian Wildlife Rescuer that focuses on the rescue and rehabilitation of native animals to be returned to the wild. Seeing some of our threatened species (such as gliders) being mistreated in other countries when we're struggling to keep their populations healthy in our own country is awful. Our native animals have such strict diets consisting of plants that literally do not exist in some of the countries these animals are being held in.
The Sugar Gliders (likely actually Krefft's Gliders) many exotic animal influencers have now are a problem. If they are 'true' sugar gliders (P. Breviceps) they only exist in a small threatened patch of coastal forest in QLD and NSW. The influencers pets are more than likely Krefft's Gliders (P. Notatus) which are more abundant and DNA analysis has indicated that they are glider being traded within the US market, originating from West Guinea and Indonesia.
Gliders have tricky diets to cater for (consisting on a mix of eucalypt, sap, nectar and insects) and in captivity they are prone to calcium deficiencies which can cause dysfunction of the hind legs, sometimes resulting in paralysis. They are also likely to develop hemochromatosis through poor or improper nutrition which often has fatal complications. All glider species require a massive amount of environmental enrichment. Without proper habitat, enclosures or enrichment when in captivity, they can develop behavioral disorders from loss of appetite, to self-mutilation.
Gliders "can" be perfectly fine as pets, however very few breeders in the US ensure the buyer has the adequate nutritional knowledge. Many owners are ignorant or negligent of a glider's delicate dietary and environmental requirements (good luck finding abundant eucalypt in the US to feed them). Being an exotic animal to the continent, many US vets also lack the knowledge to properly asses and treat gliders. They're hard enough to care for in Australia where they come from.
One correction on the video. The wallabies shown with Kyle Thomas and Kamy's Exotics are Red-Neck Wallabies, not the Black-Flanked Rock Wallabies which was displayed to say they are close to extinction. The Red-Necked Wallaby is the most common and abundant wallaby found in Australia, unlike the endangered Rock Wallaby shown.
The kangaroos both influencers have appear to be Eastern Greys and Red Kangaroos. These kangaroos are actually overpopulating parts of Australia acting as pests and are constantly being culled to prevent them from destroying native habitats and crops. In the photos and footage on these influencers pages, both the kangaroos and wallabies appear healthy, though their enclosures are quite small which could result in lack of stimuli. Food wise, these two have robust digestive systems and are basically the goats of Australia.
Apart from the enclosure size, the kangaroos and wallabies appear to be correctly cared for.
By far the largest issue with the influencers is the promotion and sale of the varying exotic animals which require professional care. I highly doubt they are vetting the buyers and ensuring they have the appropriate enclosure and knowledge to care for the animals being traded.
Your videos are really well done and respectful to the possums. Totally worth a watch. All the best for your efforts ❤
@@yetipotato8567 Thank you so much. My channels is just to store videos I take to save storage space. It's a bonus that others stumble upon them and enjoy what I do.
Over 4 years I've slowly built a co-mutualistic relationship with them. By learning their calls and how they communicate with each other, I pick up on certain sounds which indicate that predators are in the area (cats and foxes) and go out to scare off the predators to keep the possums safe.
It's nice that most of my backyard possums have so much trust in me. Makes it easy when they make an appearance with injuries that need basic levels of care, I can treat them without the stress of capture. Although a few times capture has been required.
In the US, when people talk about sugar gliders, they're almost always actually referring to Krefft's gliders. You can buy pre-made diets for them, so that's really not the tricky part of care for most people, at least not compared to other exotic pets. Housing them is what ends up really being the biggest pain.

This is a logical fallacy as there's almost no real need for anything in the generation of money. You can use that phrasing about anything. Money has value because we agree that it does.
As for the animal's benefit, the pets are provided free shelter, healthcare, food and affection regardless, all of it paid and provided to it with no expectation for the animal to pay it back.
"Animals really needn't be used for the generation of wealth for a person"
This is your opinion, which is perfectly fine, and to that, I say that you needn't money to live.
Jokes aside.
You're tunnel visioned on a very specific angle of the animal video mistreatment problem and your solution is to make it so nobody can make money from animals in videos because a small number of people mistreat them. You're leaving out the people that don't seek to generate money during the mistreatment so you can say that "making money thanks to a pet = mistreatment of them" which is completely false. You should not generalize everyone that is making a video of their pet and bundle them together with those that are mistreating their pet, as those are distinctly different.

there's load in facebook too. I report them and Facebook always replies this: "We use a combination of technology and human reviewers to process reports and identify content that goes against our Community Standards. In this case, we did not remove the content you reported". They don't care
Yes, Facebook only removes it if it's blatant.
Since those people gain millions, Facebook is more like: "this user also gives us million, so we don't care, cry about it!"
They only care about wrongthink
I've been muted or temp banned on Facebook for calling someone a "freaking idiot," but when I had someone tell me he knows my address and say he was coming to kill me, Facebook said, "Not all rude content is against the rules, and we've decided to do nothing" or something like that.
someone is finally saying it
The same goes for all those @buse channels of kids and poor people like family channels or giveaway/prank channels
capybaras are timid and get stressed very easily. Unless they have the perfect conditions they are hard to take care of.
They're also very social and need to be around their own kind. They can die of loneliness otherwise.
They shouldn't be in captivity Ever!
I hate seeing people exploit animals for profit.... As someone in the horse world, abusive practices are far too common with horses... In the olympics right now there's horses having their heads pulled in towards their chest and the riders are being rewarded for that.. Horses with poorly fitting saddles, tight and ill-fitting nosebands, one Olympian was suspended and banned this Olympics because a video came out with her whipping a student's horse HARD on the legs 24 times (with the camera person laughing). It makes me so angry and sad to see animals be so mistreated just for humans' EGO.
the active torture or killing of animals is often considered a warning sign for psychopathy or sociopathy
Those animals 100% all ended up in a garbage bin after that video
Yeah, but first they tortured them and sold the video.
Whats the difference between this and eating meat? morally speaking.
@@benjaminharrisiv650 are you on here just to defend animal abuse youtubers and promote veganism?
@@benjaminharrisiv650 Do you think tigers are evil for eating meat?
There's a difference between eating meat because you're hungry and torturing and killing animals for money
Cappy died from Stress and seclusion from his kind 100% Certain animals need a social companion that's not sucking their soul out for tik tok views.
A certain fruit farming website has a 279 page thread documenting the baby monkey videos that are extremely common. Last year they at least got some Indonesian guy that was making them arrested. There are also Instagram pages dedicated to videos of animals, the biggest being monkeys, being abused, killed, and dying that are apparently not against Instagram's rules.
i catually seen on yt people who for some reason actively hate monkeys, like whole playlists of abuse and how they hate monkeys...its wild
You're telling me PETA will complain about fictional animal abuse but haven't noticed/cared about this?
Aren't there supposed to be a preserve preventing buying and selling endangered animals??
they do that because of the amount of money they get PETA is a hypocrite
Asian and South American countries have thousands of channels like this. Fake Catch and Cook channels from Asia are GROSS.
One thing that will genuinely throw me into a rage, is animal abuse.
💯
A lot of people say this but then make fun of vegans for trying to actually do something about animal abuse.
*chomps on cheeseburger* yeah, totally.
@@Eloise_1993 animal abuse and eating animals that were humanely killed is completely different. Nobody makes fun of vegans until they push their beliefs on everyone who doesn't want to participate. get a grip.
@@fourdeep6561 "Humanely killed" is an oxymoron. And how can we fight against animal abuse without trying to convince others to join us?
If you don't think it's acceptable to "push your beliefs" on someone when they do something immoral, then you must also think we shouldn't report the content creators mentioned in this video. Because everyone should just be able to do what they want, right?
The way you told me to "get a grip" unprovoked sounds like a guilt-based response.
Imagine a world where a video had to be viewed and approved by an actual human being to be featured on UA-cam Kids - a streaming platform made under the premise that the content is actually safe for children and parents could theoretically let their kids watch it without worrying about exposure to nasty or degenerate behavior.
Google prefers to automate things to the hilt though so probably nobody sees it.
Android developers with account issues often have to frontpage on HackerNews an get an actual human to resolve their issue.
Similalry regular people often have to make the news before google pays attention.
Doesn't matter if it's a human as the entire business is gameified where UA-cam outsource the review process to third world nations where they get payed for numbers reviewed instead of providing a qualified review. The best review process among the big social media sites is X, and they are barely responsive at this point when it comes to anything but direct threat reports and "hate speech", at least the appeal process is actually working for the most part, instead of being an empty function just for show.
Btw, the pool water is chlorinated. Anyone who tried to raise fish knows why that is bad. Btw, it's crazy how the video escalates.
Where did you find that information. Most people just fill a kiddie pool with a hose. No people were swimming in it just the fish.
@Vancev99x
>where do you think the water from the hose came from?
>A reserve.
>What do they use to treat the water?
>Chlorine.
@dtyj2815 baseless claims? The guy in the video obviously has no care for the animals, so why would he even bother filling the shallow tub with nonchlorinated water at that point? Are you saying he took the time to find ocean water in this video about shoving animals in small containers? Why are you getting up in arms about defending animal ąbusęrs?
@@reginaldcampos5762 sorry I though the comment was saying he went out of his way to make it EXTRA chlorinated as if people needed protection in this situation. There's no doubt he didn't treat the water for sure he didn't even put enough water in. I simply misinterpreted the comment. I'll never defend this type of abuse. I just thought he was making him go from abuser to supervillain! 😅
@@reginaldcampos5762 In the US at least, external faucet water is the same water that comes out of your internal cold tap. It isn't chlorinated to the same extent (if at all) to what you are supposed to for standing pool water.
It’s pure disgusting that UA-cam lets this happen
in some countries, animals are way less treated nice
Farming kids for money, while simultaneously abusing animals. Dystopian indeed.
You can’t say a bad word without it being quietly censored but you can abuse animals and manipulate children no problem
you basically cant expose all the bad that is happening, that is why censorship exists.
I volunteer at a daycare and the children love the monkey show. This show has always bothered me, so I don't let them watch it when I am there. The reason these videos do so well is because it manages to keep their attention better than anything other than Bluey. I don't blame kids for watching it because they don't understand how bad these animals are treated, but the parents that let them watch this should know better.
Regarding how other people in the world view animals: I've spent a lot of time in war-torn and poverty-stricken parts of the world where dodging bullets and finding food are real and everyday challenges. I often saw stray and wandering dogs roaming in packs to survive. People beating away strays or even shooting them and beating away children from their wares. Business owners living in areas where the law rests in their own hands having no qualms about taking any advantage to make a living... All this being said, UA-cam is a US based company and in my humble opinion, should most definitely uphold a US-based view and moderation when it comes to harmful, abusive, and morally questionable content. Let's not reward those who see nothing wrong with these actions. Good video essay and coverage.
Im might be accepting a wide ban on animal content with exceptions for channels like "girl with the dogs," "save a fox,"
and "urban rescue ranch"
all who use the videos money to help animals instead of using them for money.
Got to say one of the worst I've seen was seeing people throw dogs off cliffs. Some people are seriously messed up and don't deserve the air they breathe.
Fun and disturbing fact. Zebras have killed more zoo handlers *THAN ANY OTHER ANIMAL IN ZOOS*
Yes they're that bad when it comes to their temperament and attitude towards other animals which is the main reason why they unlike horses were never domesticated and ridden
The Germans in WW1 domesticated zebras but this was only because they lacked access to other animals.
There was a guy in my town that tortured and killed kittens, and put the video of it on social media. He went to prison.
Only in Prison and not some Guys speak with him directly before the Police show up? Or is this a Thing that only happen if its Puppys/grown Dogs?
There was a guy that did that and he ended up killing his boyfriend or something.
ppl do this in other countries and get away with it. im 95% sure these are from asian youtubers
Fun fact it’s actually a federal crime in America to distribute/redistribute this footage. “asmongold committed a crime by showing this” which is probly the reason these kinds of videos are posted to UA-cam to begin with :/
In Australia.... these people would be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars, and potentially jailed. Also, i have successfully reported many animal abuse videos... however, flag them for racial / racist posts or anti LGBT, they get removed almost immediately.
bro that poor Capybara. They are social/familial animals and he snatched him away from his family :(
Here's something that will make you question life. Most of the animal rescue videos you see online. Especially the ones from foreign countries. There's a high chance that the people who rescued the animal, are the ones who put them in the situation that required a rescue.
As a parent, I can tell you how they get so many views, I’ll put something nice on for the kids on UA-cam walk away and come back to it playing one of these animal, torture videos or one of the ASMR weird videos. It’s like it’s programmed to show them.
Yeah we have a few rules already with kids programming. No more youtube kids in the household. That and cocomelon stuff and the pinkfong or whatever.
You should probably stop doing that.
Yea we stopped yt kids with our little man while I'm cooking dinner.
Now it's only Netflix and Disney if we ever need to grt something done and don't want to worry about the kids.
Shit parent. Don't put your kids in front of youtube videos. Don't walk away. Simple.
It's because the weird videos are using tag capture they try and throw in as many of the popular tags into the video as they possibly can whether or not they make coherence sense so that the algorithm funnels people to the videos because "well these are popular tags so it must be a good video" that's how we got ElsaGate its disgusting.
How bad chocolate is for dogs depends on how big they are and what kind of chocolate it is; a 50 lb dog could eat several bars of dark chocolate and be just fine, but for a puppy like this it's a huge deal to even eat smaller amounts of milk chocolate.
Capybaras are social animals, you cant just get just one, you have to get at least two. That one being alone probably feel into despair
Abuse is allowed but cursing is not allow 💀
Show me how this planet is going down in 2030
A kid from a family friend told me one day that "animals cannot feel pain because they dont have a soul like people". Yeah, kids have no idea, and parents that let them watch this are, at best, jerks.
ok i am in no way agreeing with them but i do wonder how well animals and smallish fish creatures truly perceive things pain, feeling wise
@@Sir_Mossyhaving accidently stepped on my dog's foot before, they feel pain just as much as we do. If the animal has a nervous system, they are fully capable of feeling just as much pain as us. We're animals too, you know

We used to own a wolf as well, long story, but my wife had her before we started dating. It takes a lot of work to deal with even a semi-domesticated animal like a wolf to make sure she didn't get killed or hurt someone. Although, oddly enough, she was the absolute best dog with the kids. She just let them do whatever they wanted and never stressed out about it.
My dude didn't even bring up the actual monkey torture ring that was inhabiting UA-cam for over a decade that finally got busted by the BBC last year. Not even the "cute" kind of torture, the Guantanamo Bay type of Torture with the majority of comments actually calling for the deaths of the monkeys being tortured.
Remember when moistcritical made a video on that woman beating life animals to death jokingly and then eating and preparing them for a mukbang, i forgot the name but last i checked 2-3 years ago she was still doing that same thing.
That video of moistcritical got almost 10 million views and youtube doesnt give a shit about it.
Corporate morality. They won't care unless forced to by regulations or by their advertisers pulling out. Remember, Google retired their "Don't be evil" motto a while back.
How is that different from buying pre pepared animals to then cook them?
@@maistein8936 because they are killed under certain regulations and have measures in place to reduce pain its completely different to beating them or other unnecessary harm.
@@fourdeep6561 just to be clear. overfeeding animals, killing male chickens and ducks because they cant reproduce and containing adults in such a manner where they actively hurt each other or themselves is ok because its not causing them "unnecessary harm"? In both instances the animal suffers greatly and is being abused for the experience of the human and to save up on some money. Every harm done here is unnecessary.
@@maistein8936 Im not sure what you're saying here, overfeeding animals? They feel no pain from overeating its not like they are going to live to old age either this has no effect on their wellbeing at all. killing male ducks and chickens is how people eat? also no unnecessary harm done here also. containing them in a way they hurt each other and themselves, if your referring to the living space they are given there is strict regulations on that in different places in the world, once again humans need to eat meat to survive its a major food source for every human, without it billions would starve.
