Hey! Loving the series.
- I think you may be micromanaging too many offices at this point. You have a lot of job demands. If you want to play it safe, do less at a time, but I think it’s time you stop wasting your time with historical buildings.
- your public transport is not working in your downtown. It will help traffic. When you build a new residential zone or add landmarks you don’t check if they have good connections. Also, some of your lines are just overflowing. Certain parts of the city are completely inaccessible.
- use fewer general industry factories and grow your farm and oil industries, it makes as many jobs, but way more money.

you could maybe replace the roundabout with a highway interchange, or maybe a slip lane going directly into the city. Love the content

It would be good if you have a counterclockwise route for each tram line since it seems quite a long line.
He did that in the first couple of episodes, but they werent that popular

Wall to wall Leisure commercial in Prospect Park? An arcade place across cinema sounds really good with bars and clubs?
With the roundabout, you should also set the other road thats coming onto the roundabout to have traffic lights too. This way the ones that are backed up dont have to start stop for other traffic coming from round the other side of the roundabout.

Hi! Im loving the series. I think that it would be nice to see a before and after shots after each timelapse of what you worked on and of the whole city at the end of an episode. Keep up the amazing videos!!
Have a look at Cape atown South Africa. You will see that the football stadium is a big part of the city, but its to one side close to the ocean, then harbour and keyside with the city more inland. I think that would be a fantastic model for what you are building here

Hey Darren, if you go into the cinematic camera and open the selection wheel, you can walk/drive around the city.
You should make a more advanced interchange for the highway so that it’s smoother and doesn’t delay the general traffic of the highway, there are pre built interchanges in the game that you should explore. Thank you for creating such an exciting series!
If you unlock all tiles start developing on the other side and eventually city will join together.. just a thought on the all tiles idea
60 mins is a great episode length, please don't start making shorter vids 😥 I think unlocking all the tiles would be a good idea though
Unlock the tiles. There’s plenty of open land around you. I don’t see why the county would limit you expanding

Wonderful series so far. You are new to the game and that’s ok. You have shown a lot of growth and are taking suggestions very well. One thing to note: we love long videos. What some have done is release 2 videos at a time. One cut, one raw. Not many can hold an audience for several hours…

I'm a new fan - found your anno 1800 series a little while back and am now on ep. 32 or so into S2. Love your design (The artisans up on the hill look stellar! ) and was also heartbroken to see that pirate ship go down.

Hiya! Thanks, and yeah I’ve tried it. I generally enjoy it but not nearly as much as Anno. I’m not really a political or historical person so I kinda get tired of the satirical humour pretty quick, I find the gameplay much better of Anno, but I did enjoy it, played about 20ish hours of Tropico 5 and 6, and about 50 of 3.
On Unlocking all tiles and Upgrades. It's kind of hard to decide:
On one hand, we know you didn't bankrupt the City, in fact you have a nice stack of cash + the investment in the stock market. So it would make sense to open everything up and build beautifully with no restrictions.
On the other hand, waiting to unlock the tiles may force you into situations and problems you have to solve, which is exciting for us to watch you resolve :) more headaches for you.
I think I'm really Ok either way. I guess it really depends on how long you want the series to be?

You can plan where subway, bus station and other services should be in your new city and plan more interchange

Loving the series, just want to point out you made the farm area and had issues getting people working there. You should get a bus line or metro stop over there. This way the lower education that prob dont drive would work out there.
7:00 Yeah, I hope you console commands the tile unlock soon. Constraints were fun at the start, but the demands of the mod really cannot be met without waaaay more space.
Doing a great job on budling the city. How ever traffic lights on round abouts messes up the flow of the round about. If you have two lanes coming in the round about should have three lanes to help with the flow of traffic.
Ok you have come to the point that highway is stuck. Dedicated turning lane on the highway keeps the other lanes flowing. You don’t need to own the tile to make traffic rules with TM:PE. With blocking lane switching before the junction cars can go on straight. Dedicated turning lanes everywhere. TM:PE has a setting to make it automatic so you don’t ever need to worry about it.
I say, unlock everything. At this point you "earned it", if you require such an excuse. The true progression is in balancing act of building and expanding certain things at the right time and pace. Not when you unlock the tools you actually need to do things.
And about the Wall-to-Wall designs -- it's fine. In fact, when you say "too much" it once again betrays your attachment to what you see around you or on TV. A bunch of cities across the world look just like those Wall-To-Wall districts. Amsterdam looks just like that in parts of it. Some modern re-development here in Germany looks like that.
Anyways, looking forward to the next projects! The highway connection, the Shoreline redesign and growing downtown. Cheers!
maybe having a slip road bypass the roundabout at the farm for the outside lane could work, it means that any farm vehicles can go to the farm from the current route and other traffic can remove congestion from the roundabout at the farm!

Maybe say if you earn 50k weekly income you can unlock all the tiles. You then have a goal and reward for achiving that goal.
Hi! Newish viewer, started binging your satisfactory videos a while back and glad I’m up to date with this series! I think unlocking the tiles is totally justified and would give you a bit more freedom to build the city how you like. I also am a fan of the long videos, I don’t know about popular opinion but I almost never watch UA-cam videos shorter than an hour, I really prefer 3 hours so I watch a lot of Vods. Anyway, I’m lovin the series even though I’ve never played the game! ✨🏬🏘️🏭

One Tip at ur Entrance-Roundabout.
Make the trafficlight a 2-phase light.
One Phase for the incoming traffic from outside. (use lane mathmatic )
and the other phase for your Roundabout traffic.

I do the same Darren. I live in Orange County CA. You might know it for Disneyland? There is a actually a really cool balance between old towns that are developed overtime and new overly planned communities (Irvine) I try to balance it like how I see it in real life and it does bottle neck my city but I like how it looks.

Unlock the tiles!
If you just want to pop all tiles without unlocking everything else you can use the 81 times mod. In the settings for 81 tiles there is a button to unlock all tiles, just note that sometimes this for some reason shifts metro heights so it might break lines, just need to redraw if that happens
Oh ik I thought it was all or nothing. I have the 81 tiles mod installed but didnt see that option, but admittedly I didnt look for it really

45:54 could you have the two inroads merge into a 2 lane before the traffic circle? It seems like that might help the merge logic at the circle itself and maybe get around the traffic light?

yo dude, check out the eco residential - both the low and high rise assets are quite gorgeous and will break up the visuals of your city
Potentially you can do multiple cities and towns and make them different like having one completely pedestrian friendly and another a costal fishing town. Also when you buy the plot that has the highway couldn’t you just connect it normally with on and off ramps? I feel that would be much more appropriate when for that spot and I just feel like it’s not a good decision to have a roundabout
I really doubt the Underground "locomotives" are called Subway :) The word Subway in the US is the equivalent of Underground in the UK. When you say those words, people automatically know that you're referring to a below surface level trains.
I've had to travel quite a bit for work and have fallen behind but I just want to see how you build so, please unlock the tiles. I can't quite remember but there is a really stupid unlock, like airports coming before some ground transport, can't remember what but it's really annoying.
I used the same mod set as you on a different map and hitting 75k was a bit of a challenge. My city was a mess and I had to redo it all once I had all the unlocks done.
There is a mod to randomly generate and set building to stop at a specific level but I forgot what it’s called
60 minutes? How about making them 120 minutes?

I love long form content and I am not saying you SHOULD change it but you are leaving so many views on the table with these long videos. I would easily watch a 20 min city skylines video every day rather than 40 minutes every other lol
If it's possible, I'd do 2 things. Put one of the out the box highway junctions in the newly acquired tile, to give bidirectional free flowing entry to the city for any newcomers. Then if possible, set the logic on the roundabout so that every inflow to the roundabout is always red unless it has been waiting for a certain period of time, with a preference for the highway inflows.
So say the stuff coming from farming is lowest priority and then coming out of the city and highest priority are the 2 highway inflows.
It is a tough position to be in though, and I've never played with the realistic pop mod so that definitely complicates this massively :D! You're doing great though awesome city overall. Lots of character
35:13 put interchanges instead of roundabouts its way better
Im not sure if there is one already but there probably should be a path between the soccer field and the european looking shopping center! I know there is a path in the middle coming from down to right but not left to right i think
I think you can just changed the maximum time for the time traffic?
Is there an option to turn off unique buildings resctrictions? I can't build Music Club because it needs 7500 squares of commercial zone built...
Personally I'd like to see the arterial roads NOT be the edge of the city. Having some neighborhoods on the coast would look good instead of having the road 'blocking' the coastline.

Where is s major Hospital?
Strangely there hasnt really been a demand for it, or for fire/police bigger than the smallest size. I assume I’ll place them into the new exapnded area but i havent olaced them yet because our healthcare is massively underutilized as it is
It was a little jarring the cutting between sections of your longer video. Maybe time lapse the in-between bits so it makes more sense from our perspective, rather than one second you're reconfiguring the roads and 1 second later you've been laying out new residence areas
Yeah this really wasnt intentional, and I thought about timelapsing it but because at the time I wasnt really aware it would be timelapsed the camera was moving around in a really jarring and hap-hazard way so I decided to make the cut instead. I knew it was still off though which is why I tried to sandbag it and let people know

In America there’s never been a roundabout coming off the highway. Roundabouts are more in-city intersections or residential
Please don't unlock everything,
Just delete the highway roundabout, may clear the backup problem since almost everyone just wants to the city, not the farm...
