Thank you for making great games, This War of Mine and especially Frostpunk are some of my favorite games of all time. I am quite excited for Frostpunk 2 and the Alters.
Game looks great! But the UI does not seem "Frostpunk" its a bit too clean and some menu screens is just a wall of white! it hurts the eyes.
The storm sirens blaring when a whiteout hits is honestly quite... *chilling.*

The game looks amazing. Love your playstyle of taking it slow, planning out, walking through the steps. You got me to pick up Anno 1800, which I'm very grateful for. Great game. Keep up the awesome work.

Unfortunately not, I zoom as much as you can multiple times in this video. In the next one, i zoom all the way in on the council, you can click individuals and see them, but thats as close as you get really
The societal/political element is something I really like in the first game and I'm glad its more in depth here - its something I'd like to see in more of these types of games - now imagine a political layer in a Roman themed game.

Loved the first one hope to enjoy this one too! Have some minor gripes about the UI being a bit too minimalist and not feeling like a RTS game but hopefully that can be customized.
I was VERY dubious, but after playing it, and getting through my first whiteout, I am absolutely converted.
God I can’t WAIT for this game to come out! And for whatever DLC they’ll add! Do you know when it’s coming out by any chance Darren?

I never actually got around to playing the first Frostpunk, but watching videos I always thought it had a spectacularly good looking UI. This one seems like a step down in that regard, which is a shame since it's here I was planning to jump in myself.
Oh really? Damn I think they've universally improved the UI here. The only thing I don't like is the complete white law screen, there is a tab in there that inverts the colours to a dark mode basically, so im hoping they let you apply that yourself. But other than that, the actual world UI, the layout, tooltips etc. and integration of large moving art I think is brilliant.
The first one is still well worth a play. You can get it really cheap now also.

At 1:45 i was swiping my screen as i thought a little fly hang on to it. Took a few swipes before dimwitted me figured it out. 😵💫😵💫

It looks amazing and seems like it's going to be a good one. With you playing both, do you recommend playing the first one or you think I'd be good jumping in this one straight away?
Im just now playing the first one. Its really good. Definitely a good spin on traditional city builders.
Frostpunk 2 looks to be a completely different style. Frostpunk 1 goes on sale a lot, so i would suggest getting it if you like city builders. Its awesome. Then you can grab 2 when it comes out this summer!

I think the first one is excellent, so yes! It is a different game though, maybe look it up first and see if you like the look of it!

What I really want to know is how many times the game crashed on you?
Never. And it runs really well for me. I actually ran both Manor Lords and Frostpunk 2 at the same time and both were 60fps 😅

@@WhatDarrenPlays Really!? Ok then, guess it is just me. I have nearly the same specs as you except for intel as CPU. very odd. Crashed at least 5 times so far. Just into week 130 at this point.
what is that yellow shine lines in roads ? for that i could see they don't walk anymore just use vehicles like skylines, so no more micromanagement. anyway i home this game be less forgetful the first one. i am not said that. people said.
The yellow lines are people walking with lanterns, time moves by quite quickly, so you see the trails of the lanterns.
im not sure i like the change from the first game.
Don't like where the game went with money, districts, hex unlocks, etc. The game had a great niche as a survival builder, now just looks like any other RTS with a nicer skin. Just not interested in playing command and conquer nor civilization
This game looks so amazing! I have been very excited for this since it was announced. It would be great to see you revisit the original before release

This is a genuine blind playthrough! Although I played a tiny bit to get familiar with how to play, but only like an hour total.

Man i do not like this new system at all used to see people goin out working and make there own little paths in snow now magically districts show up. Where is the day and night cycle shame if this is how its gona be even in normal speed the game is to fast for my opinion :(
Its clear that they've decided to have this game on a different scale, hours are days, buildings are districts, instead of named individuals its 100's of workers at a time. It does seem quite a departure from the first one in many respects, but I think it looks like an interesting progression.
@@tiberiusgracchus2077 It's not all bad but the first game has more depth to the people and the city itself, this seems like fast forward and magically do stuff in my opinion.

Agreed. I played 104 min, and I applied for a refund. Frostpunk was so amazing. Maybe the full game will be better.
Not really see the charme of the original. The original felt like running a startup, this feels like running a corporation. And I find that offputting. I also want to hope they have a darkmode. I positively dread the idea of having my eyes seared with that overly white UI.
