No way is promoting a programme which you put your work in to and genuinely believe in is selling out. You're a trainer/trainee at the end of the day 👍 pushing someone else's book which you don't believe in to make a quick buck would be selling out, even if it's a good book.
To actually watch greg go from calling out test boosters and fat burners at one point to now selling them is just crazy
I’m always amazed that Alpha Destiny is such a straight up dude. He never pushes BS but puts out super solid content. I hope he is making money off of something because he deserves it but I can’t remember him mentioning any products to buy.
Only thing I can think of was that neck extension thing
He gets made fun of a lot same with Jason blaha
@@SuperBetaBuxbros. wtf
@@SuperBetaBuxbros. yeah, people don't get that he went from a teenager trying to act like a chad into becoming a real man. They are always using his old clips/PUA and the high block knee pull stuff(And not informing people that he isn't the same anymore, and pinning comments saying that they won't follow his modern advice now), which he has stated to find suboptimal from a Fatigue/Stimulus ratio, and with the PUA stuff he doesn't do that anymore and doesn't really give a shit about girls. He never was scamming people, just made some mistakes, was your typical teenager, but now that he has matured(Unlike Bahna who went reverse) and gained more experience, he has become essential for getting stronger past the novice/intermittent phase. Ironically they always use bots to hide their voice, don't give any details on their lifts, give no lifting advice besides clowning on people, and we don't know their physiques. Just some nameless trolls. Not the ones doing it in the past, the movement stuff needed to be discussed, but what are the odds the people taking these old clips out of context are against cancel culture, but our doing it themselves.
He is one of my Fav Fitness UA-camr. Great Dude who interacts with his audience and gives good advices.
I think Revival Fitness has put up some good content but I personally don't like him as a person. His demeanor can be pretty condescending tbh and not to mention how poorly he responds to criticism. Just makes him seem like such an insecure person deep down
He's actually a pretty nice guy when you talk to him, I think he just acts snarky and blunt in his videos for entertainment. Though I'm definitely not excusing what he did with the Lumen thing.
He seemed like a pretty chill guy in the Q&A he did a few weeks ago. But you're right, he has come across as abrasive from time to time.
The guy has a tremendous amount of potential and did a lot for online fitness with bulking and "ab anxiety", though.
I like him because he’s real and doesn’t give a fuck
He's a pretty chill guy, he just acts like he has a chip on his shoulder for entertainment. And he did take the Enkiri criticism well, he joked about taking a hard L about it and he took the video down about kettlebell swings. He is a pretty alright dude, just a bit cynical.
These are the types of people you want to take advice from. Blunt and honest rather than someone who caters to your little feewings and feeds you false info to keep you as far away from your goals as possible just so you can keep coming back and consuming their material
You're a legend, Geoff. Never afraid to call someone out if it means protecting the less informed from being exploited. The Revival Fitness stuff is really sad to see.
I'm so confused that people arnt allowed to take a protein sponsor
@@notashton. protein isn't a problem, but 90% of supp companies are selling something that's sketchy, or underdosed, or overmarketed. That's where they make the real money.
@@notashton. someone can take a protein sponsor but when that sponsor also pushes testosterone boosters and BCAAs you aren't just taking protein sponsor are you.
@@thedeadman8361 ok so go after Derek and gorilla mind for his sigma test booster. Or does that not count
@@notashton. I totally agree, Gorilla Mind sigma Test booster is full of shit and Derek should be called out for it. Why would that not count exactly?
I called it months ago that Revival was becoming a clout chasing sellout. It’s actually sad because he had/has a lot of potential, but he’s ruining his own future in the industry by continuing to pursue the wrong path of selling out his integrity for short term cash grabs, clout chasing in the exact same way those he criticizes have done, & becoming an unreliable source of info while promoting things like PED use after he’s had just over 2 solid years in the gym himself.
I hope he sees this video & takes the criticism constructively and is able to realize he needs to change his ways not only for his own future in the industry, but for his viewers’ benefit as well. As much as I’ve had some major disagreements with him in the past, I truly do wish the guy well.
He won't dont bother yourself
I know for a fact he doesn't take criticism very well 😅
He doesn't respond well to criticism, but hopefully he changes course yes.
He is still in his teenage rage phase. I remember you agreeing with me when i call him future Greg Doucette. He literally the same now
I haven't given up on him yet. I have to admit though, there was a video earlier this year, I think it was before he entered the bodybuilding competition, where he announced his bulk was over and he was going to start cutting. There was a line in that video, something along the lines of "I need to get a six pack. No one's channel grows without a six pack." That was a red flag. It was just a) so superficial, and b) another example of him seemingly putting subscriber counts above all else, instead of good information and a good community
He and his channel have flaws, but again, I don't think it's to the point of giving up on him just yet
It saddens me how common it is for people to sell out their fellow man for a dollar.
1. Create insecurity
2. Offer "solution"
3. Profit
Lol Revival Fitness saying anyone leaner than he is ,"doesn't like like they lift".
Just like the China-Virus in 2020
oldest trick in the book.
Finally someone called out revival fitness’ BS
literally everyone piles on that guy lmao
NH did but people didn't like it
@vxlkrye I've been subbed to RF a while. I think he's poised to launch clear into the crankosphere at a moments notice. Maybe he won't though. My prediction is he becomes a whole milk liver King, not red jug, unpasteurized, may kill you straight from the cow whole milk. He's also completely wrong about artificial sweeteners.
Never liked that guy
he is not going to stay natural for much longer after his show
Revival fitness definitely had me and lost me in a very short time.
So true with Greg. When I first started lifting in 2019 his videos were really helpful. Never would have gotten as lean as I did without his videos. Although it’s hard to stomach his “anabolic cookbook” (which I did unfortunately purchase lol). And it’s just sad to see what he’s become.
Same with Revival. I only found him like 4 months ago and he already seems different than when I found him.
Greg was a drama queen piggybacking of athlean x from the beginning.
@@scottf3456 That may be, but I can’t say I didn’t get any useful information from him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Greg is not even funny anymore
@@mickethegoblin7167 he's shown that he's only interested in bringing people down. Put a video up within 10 seconds of Mike Thurston putting up a 10 year transformation but still hasn't put anything up after the MPFD Matt Does Fitness steroid stuff.
I bought his cookbook just to support him and have yet to make anything from it. It's been over a year since I bought it...I even forgot I even bought it until I saw your comment. Greg used to be a pretty cool guy before.
These movie cuts are amazing hahaha. Great video and thanks for still being organic and transparent
I clicked because the picture of Elliot took me way back, had almost forgotten about him. He was one of the first channels related to lifting that I ever watched too, back in 2016. Glad I watched, great video and overview.
Also, the lumen stuff is so infuriating to me, as someone studying nutrition who's trying to give good, science based information/advice. We're being drowned out by these companies who end up worsening their customers economy and maybe even their health. It was chilling to listen to Revival Fitness' comment on integrity. :(
Can't say I'm surprised in Revival's case. I initially subbed to him because of his thorough well-deserved roasting of Greg, but not long after that, he needlessly went after NH. That combined with his pure projection of "if you had easy access to PEDs you would use them" was a red flag. I didn't even know about his sponsorship with shady products and his "everyone's a liar and just here to make money" attitude until this video. It's a shame since I found his content mostly good, but his rise to relative fame from roasting Greg seems to have gotten to his head.
It's not a problem that he went after NH. He's allowed to criticize NH and present his own arguments even if those arguments weren't the best. Free speech bruv
Everyone's mentioning the support for PED. Somehow I've missed this entirely. The ads don't bother me. I'm not going to buy the products, I skip past them, and I get that he's working hard to maintain his channel while living on a low-income scale, so a little corporate sponsorship helps him out. But the PED support. Man, that's depressing.
@@chairmanmeow8481 it might be constitutional, but that doesn't mean it's going to build his channel.
Revival definitely has a 'calling out the BS and giving you the hard truth' sort of vibe, and unfortunately it seems like he is setting himself up to gain some money and fame and go 'Sorry, hard truth of the industry, go buy my fat burner so I can afford my PED's.' Hopefully he realizes that his popularity comes from calling out the industry, not from feeding into a nihilism by making it seem like its inevitable that he will become the BS he critisizes.
Forgive me guys, but who's NH?
This is why I don't subscribe to a lot of fitness youtubers, most are grifters. Good to see you calling them out especially revival fitness.
Yeah, you just subscribe to a dude after seeing that their content is pretty good and they give very solid and encouraging advice and then all of a sudden one day they begin posting videos that completely contradict everything they stood for at one point and at that point all you can just say is "not again"
I've been into lifting for over 40 years and somehow still shocked at the weird, infantile dependency, and cult-like hero worship of many people. If someone teaches you progressive overload, thank the person that taught you but most of your gratitude should be be towards reality, human evolution, human physiology or however one wants to say it. A teacher interested in your strength doesn't weaken you by allowing, let alone encouraging, you to put them on a pedestal.
Man I think a lot of young people just don't get the concept of busting their ass when working out.
Looking for the easy way to get bigger and or stronger. Trying their hardest to get on Test or another drug.
There is no easy way. Bust your ass when you're working out. Set a goal for your workout. 10 more minutes on cardio. One more rep than last workout. 2-5 more lbs then the last workout. Don't play around between sets. Focus on the goal you set for yourself. Eat well. Get good sleep. Drink plenty of water.
There is no easy way. Just Bust your ass.
@@72Dexter72Manley72 Those fundamentals are at least 90% of the process.
@@briand5047 Yes but most younger lifters don't get it. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️.
Back in the day when I relatively new to lifting, I was working out with guys who were much stronger and much bigger than me. They weren't lowering the weights being used so I had to get mine in before they went up in weight. I drove 45 minutes to go to that gym because I knew those guys would be there pushing me. And there were other gym's 5-10 minutes from my Apt. I progressed very fast because of them pushing me. But I had to be willing to bust my ass to work out with them. And they worked me out hard. Forced reps, drop sets, applying resistance to every other rep when we used machines. When I caught up to them on a few exercises they were shocked. But I told them why. You guys pushed me and never let me slack off. I caught up because of you guys also. 👍🏽
@@72Dexter72Manley72 It's honestly nothing new. Remember the "fat melting" reciprocating band machines of the 50s-60s? The 80s-90s had their own weird obsession with "toning" so as to avoid accidentally getting as big as Arnold (and surely avoiding the associated effort).
I think the biggest change is the parasocial relationship of youtube and social media more broadly. Fitness youtubers are essentially using the fireside chat effect to get folks to open their wallets.
There is a lot more good info out there these days, but growing up pre-internet we also didn't get pulled in by the algorithm on some of the more dubious stuff.
People are suffering from self induced loneliness and social anxiety, it's 1000 times easier sitting down in front of a screen and watching a video which makes it seem like you're there with the guy conversing than talking to real people, this is also a big reason why podcasts are so popular even though they exist in ridiculous abundance. Parasocial relationships are extremely dangerous and most regular Internet consumers fall for them super hard and don't escape the trap anymore. They obsess over fake personas and live in a pretentious space where they're friends with all these people they have and will never meet. The worst is that to their object of obsession they are nothing but a means to an end, money to be made.
The worst I've seen are donaters on Livestreams leaving messages that are quite literally formulated in a way that makes it obvious that in their head they are buddies with the streamer, it's pathetic and sad, the streamer will give some court and pointless reply and in reality they're annoyed that the slave didnt give them more cash.
What a stupid concept to donate to someone who has enough passive income to live lifetimes anyway lol. Of course it can always get worse like soulless coomers but I don't even want to think about that
Videos like this are great not just for viewers but anyone considering starting their own channel. Please keep up the good influence!
Really glad you made this, Geoff. Especially in regards to Revival, I’m glad to see you holding someone you’ve respected quite a bit (and even somewhat still) accountable for his actions. Shows YOUR integrity! It’s a sad story, and hopefully those who sell out come back around. Wishful thinking! 💪🤓

The way he just started rattling off SARMs and peptide companies during that NH beef and claiming that NH and his fans Have the tabs open on their browsers for the companies was so weird
When Revival exposed Greg's maingaining nonsense, I thought he was a huge breath of fresh air. But now, I'm wondering if he only wanted to have his turn getting the bag instead.
Nah bro, he's still preaching good shit but LA and money problems are a terrible combination.
You wondered exactly right. He just wanted to divert the cash flow to himself

Very nice and useful video man❤👌🏻💪🏻 Well done genuinely!
I enjoyed some of Revival’s videos, but his personality is really grating. You, IronMusket, and MPMD are the only fitness channels I follow anymore
MPMD is like one long ad for finasteride.
You forgot jeff nippard and noel dyzel 😉
Revival's personality is absolutely horrific and I don't mean that in a good way. All these dudes with the "life is unfair and I am just an asshole out of necessity, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive" attitude always turn out to be malevolent bastards in the end. These dudes just use that attitude to try to justify their malevolence by saying it's "out of necessity" and "that's just how life works". Never listen to people whose entire personality is "I'm just trying to be real bruv", there are already a lot of them in this comments section

True. All this guys are tryhard.
I feel like "selling out" is especially bad if you are someone that mainly calls other people out on their bullshit. If you are doing your own content and sell some shitty stuff once or twice, people might give you the benefit of the doubt. But if your brand is to call out the bullshit...not a good look.
If you sell out from the get go nobody cares. People just don't like betrayels.
I like your selection for case studies. New viewer here. Enjoying your content, only watched a few videos so far but have gained some key knowledge so far and looking forward to putting it to work in the gym.
Found your channel through RF … glad I’m here tho brother..
I'm interested to see the pure cope/shade thrown by Revival Fitness in his future videos. I love some of his content but its sad to see the path he's going down especially with his bodybuilding shows. I still think he can change not like some other content creators in this video.
Is the bodybuilding show thing not just to prove a point? That you can be natural but also that training for bodybuilding and trying to be shredded really sucks (he admits to hating it)
I haven’t followed it that closely to be fair
If he is secretly no longer natural (I have my suspicions) then that is sad
Every RF video I've seen made me uncomfortable for some inexplicable reason. Glad to see my subconscious is working properly.
I only saw him in a critique video from another small channel about his kettlebell swings demonstration and advice. The clips that were used from RF's video gave me giant red flags that dude was way too into himself and thought he knew a lot more than he actually did. Standard stuff really. I mean, is anyone really surprised when its a dude who's only been into fitness for 2 years but giving training and coaching advice to others? I'm all for more info and learning, but there's a bit of lacking humility there that isn't addressed.

@@pennyblue6372 probably cuz you mogged on him and made him have to reconsider his entire life. I've gotten that numerous times in real life from guys who're bigger than me and don't see me lift heavy or do certain exercises often. Deep seated insecurities and all that. It's a giant tell that they aren't into learning, just being perceived as being better than others. It's way too common, especially for people primarily bodybuilding.
Good on you for not falling for that sh*t, I could imagine it's tempting but I'd have a guilty conscience knowing I'm ripping off naïve/young people
I enjoy RF's content but man that Lumen ad is just so funny lmaooo
Yeah I saw the RF grift immediately. The plus side to having been scammed a lot in the past is that I now realize when someone is trying to sell you something to your detriment/ or atleast not your benefit.
The world will end the day NH starts selling sponsored crossaints.

The most upsetting of these is RF. I had watched a few of his videos starting around a year ago, and thought it was great that he did the call out on greg. Sad to see a channel with that much potential sell out so hardcore, practically over night.

I've been building my own programs for years now diet, exercise, sleep, etc. I have years of experience in the gym and playing sports, but during my Ph.D., I've needed to focus on one thing. Over the past few months, you've inspired me to go deeper into hypertrophy training. Without a doubt, I feel confident in building my own program with structured mesocycles and dieting. Nonetheless, I appreciate everything you have to offer and I am purchasing your book after writing this. Greg's downfall is definitley the biggest. When i found his channel back then, when he was talking without a bunch of scam supplmenets behind him not about every single drama, but about diet and exercise, called out BS programms of AthleanX for example, and advised progressive overload, his videos genuinely helped me go into the right direction.
The only reason greg went after ax was to chase clout. He was selling out from day 1.
@@scottf3456 maybe he was, but when he was just talking with a shit camera and his background was just a wall, talking about training stuff and food, he was a useful channel.
Greg actually believes in HIS product though and he still gives solid info and hasnt changed his mind much about fitness and none about diet. I dont understand why hes even in this video. It’s easier to sell a dream than hard work. Whatever an influencer’s ideas may be at the beginning, it’s going to be a real test of…integrity when that realization is made. It comes down to what you want to see when you look in the mirror.

I feel like the best way you can do it properly is the Sean Nalewanyj way by making your own product so that you have complete control of what goes into it and so that it doesn't have control over you.
Similar to MPMD, the fact he breaks down his products ingredient by ingredient is nice.
Great video
It makes sense why RF bashes natty lifters. Deep down he feels ashamed of potentially hopping on gear.
He probably already did. Just because he isn't big doesn't mean he isn't on gear. A lot of people have naturally achievable physiques while being on PEDs.
I think revival fitness has given all he can with his prior videos and i don't see any good reason to keep following him other than entertainment. Especially the whole "everyone's lying to you so i might as well" thing. That's not how people are supposed to behave and that doesn't make it okay to have no integrity. You're the 🐐, Geoff
Guys like Greg I can’t stand. Elliot Hulse was a sad one for me tho. His content changed my life and made me not just a better lifter but a better man and for that I’m forever grateful.

It's unfortunate to see RF selling out, but I get it. You look at the viewership of any natty with integrity vs the affiliate shills and get a bitter taste left in your mouth when you realize how much the algorithm screws honest people on thus platform as well as others.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain :(
Revival fitness selling out is tough to see genuinely enjoyed his content
Revival obviously hopped on the gravy train because he’s left his job as a personal trainer
Geoffrey, the beard is looking sharp.
Damn, dude. Found Rivival Fitness shortly after finding your channel and was just about to ask if he's ever done a Collab with you because I thought you guys were kind of on the same wave length. Sucks he did the whole supplement sponsor thing and glad I didn't ask. Greg Doucette sucks too, and don't even get me started on Cbum.
I'm a cop and I have seen so many people lose their integrity a little bit at a time. As Geoff said, It's a slippery slope that eventually you can't climb back from
How did you keep your integrity? Genuinely interested.
@@BuJammy You have to make a conscious decision to never compromise, even when it's the easier solution.
@@kevindadswell603 Moral Fiber indeed.
R.I.P Revival fitness, he was meant to destroy the sellouts, not join them 😢
He was supposed to bring BALANCE to fitness, not leave it in darkness 😪
I HATE YOOOOU!!!
I’m IN LOVE with this man
I’m excited about this video (grabs “test boosting” popcorn)
I unsubbed from revival awhile ago because honestly his information was never that great or unique to begin with
Meanwhile Alpha Destiny: Yo guys do seated barbell overhead press for bigger delts 🔥😀
I need a trigger warning for the Greg douccette Jump scares 😢
Am I the only one who thought Elliot Hulse was one of the Hodge Twins???
Me too…lol.
Greg's integrity was in his hair.
Lol
Knew about you since like three years, from quora. Its great to see you grow, while retaining authenticity, all the way.
One wise man said "you whether die a hero or you live long until you become the villain"
I was lifting seriously during the old Elliot days of "Hey Elliot" and he used to be solid and one of the leading people in the industry, how the mighty have fallen smh
Revival fitness selling out in the early phase of his youtube journey is sad but funny. Judging people too much and now he is being tested by it.
This video is 100% accurate. Well done
I've checked myself out of the "fitness industry" UA-cam stuff for months now. I've been happier, healthier, so much stronger, have actually gained weight and muscle. No supplements, just food, hard work and fun. No more burnout workouts. It sucks, I'm over it all.
Perfect video. I think it was necessary.
Also im so happy that my boy Crossaint got a cameo
This made my day, my week, my month 😭
