I like how Cooley believed that we are not actually being influenced by the opinion of others but instead, we are being influenced by what we imagine the opinions of other people to be.
It really goes to show that anxiety disorders lower self-esteem because they feed off of these negative thoughts.
Please stop arguing about the voice used. It was very clear and consistent throughout the video. That’s what matters.
I can't, her frustrated me so much, but her info is good
Protip: Everyone's voice sounds good at 3.0x speed!
Was very grating at 7AM ngl
Honestly I find this woman’s voice much easier to understand content with compared to the normal guy! Idk what it is but the guys voice just does not compute 😅
I like the part when she explains that our perception of ourselves are based on accurate and inaccurate perception of how others see us
So Well said
I liked the last part of the example, it shows how through conversation we can adust the understanding of our interactions.
Such a short video and such a small theory but with so much impact, Charles Cooley cooked with this one
studying Education Psychology this is awesome for having an example in education!
Now we think that the student thinks that the teacher thinks that the student doesn't put more effort.
Thankyou alot for all the videos you upload. They are great and have great information .. Really helped me :)
Really well put, thank you very much for this brief lecture.
This is so accurate!
Which is why it’s so important to develop a good sense of self and self image as a whole
Easier said then fine but DO NKT CARE ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK
great...
sometimes unconsciously we often solve problems according to our own perception. even though we forget the truth can come from different sources. maybe that's what's called a paradox.
I needed Cooley
May I repost the video above on my UA-cam channel? The video that I posted has been given Indonesian subtitles. The video will be used for learning.
How does this relate to meta-cognition? Is this theory a form or akin to meta-cognition?
hi! really helpful video, thank you! Can you recommend me some movies that show and use the looking glass self?
Interesting
Truly
Yep
How does Cooley explain the looking glass self?
Anyone know what program this is ?
Sociology. If you referred to "from what field"🤷♀️
Hi, I am teaching an online class. May I post this in the class? Thanks!
Just give them a proper credit.
¿Donde lo encuentro en Español?

Solution? Don't imagine the opinions of others? And explain your intentions?
That's why we must have good prejudices, as God suggested.
At first, her voice is funny but as the video goes by,actually it is not. Informative indeed :)
Ang bilis mag salita amp
Sakto lang, 'di mo lang talaga masundan 🤣
Don't give a shit. Life is easier
Gay
Awful voice.
