People are tearing this presentation apart with so many critiques. Let it go. It was clearly an accident that she said psycho-sexual. Psycho-social was written on the screen. She's not that difficult to understand. Be grateful that anyone even took the time to make something like this for you.
Freudian slip? :)
Drake Hoffman I Know most of you won't continue this, but my family will be the ones who do. In honor of someone who has died or is fighting cancer or ever had cancer. Copy and paste! 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝.ooo
THANK YOU
Thanks for being a decent person. ^_^ It's tiring to see people put the negative parts of a video --- especially mistakes --- over the positive parts of said video. Kudos to you.
I thought I just heard her wrong and didn't think anything else of it.
This shit is deeper than many of you may think if a lot of parents knew this before they had children then a lot of children would be better off today but hey everyone has to live and learn
Mike Mims I was thinking the exact same thing.
TO THE POINT!
I'm here to aid my journey of self-improvement. My present is an outcome of the life I have lived in the past.
Christian Brothers University Dr. Richard Demond Broussard Human Sexuality B.S Natural Science
Damn, studying this for pediatrics but I couldn't help but pause and reflect on my own self. I'm 22 yet I still always doubt myself in everything and I feel like such a people pleaser and self-esteem is to the ground. I remember how my mom would overly criticize me growing up. This makes sense :(
You are still young and resourceful. Just keep on pushing yourself out of the comfort zone and I am sure that after a while you will trust yourself more and more. Easier said than done of course. Maybe this book can help: "Your Erroneous Zones" by Dr Wayne W. Dyer. Good luck :)
BUT SAME!
A long-time Nurse who has applied Erickson's stages throughout my career- its been really valuable in helping people to identify where they're at, and then work through it and thrive. I integrate his concepts with Maslow's Heirchy of Needs. The setting where I really saw these crises manifesting was while working in a state prison in a large population, where these unresolved crises were quite evident. Good stuff, thanks for posting 👍
Yeah, I looked at my stage and said, "Hell no!" I'm partying it up tomorrow cause it's my birthday and I'm also ready to date! I feel sorry for whoever is interested in me because I'm too psycho for anyone but whoever can put up with me (I'm attracted to bisexual women, by the way), is worth keeping and I'm about to purchase a home in my dream state so the next person that I actually like 100% will become my wife. 🙏
the fact paid 1000 dollars to be told to come here and watch this free video for my psyc class
REAL
a name so nice, they named him twice.
I feel like praneeth would say this
Even though my university courses are in Spanish, this helped me more than any text I've read. EXTREMELY Helpful. Thank you.
This is a kick ass break down for this theory. It took weeks to go over this in my Child Psych class and this is a great crash course version of it. Thank youuuuuuuuu.
Thanks for sharing. One suggestion - the audio level fluctuates wildly and the general audio quality is pretty poor. Your great visual presentation is undermined by the poor audio. This presentation would greatly benefit from a better quality microphone.
Rosalia
The visual presentation was more clear I but the audio is not good.
I love your videos! You explain everything so easily and clearly. You should know that thanks to your videos I have passed my psychology exams. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for taking the time to make a video to help people like myself to better understand Psycho-social development - I am a VISUAL Learner and am finding it difficult to grasp the concept. Your voice recording, however, is fluctuating from high to low. A great video helped a lot - thank you MCAT - Khan University.
you know that you're not actually a visual learner?
Amazing Presentation... Loved the way you make this so simple and easy to understand... Thank you!
Im writing an essay on this theory. I enjoyed listening to you. Ive had my head in his books so this was a nice break. Thank you girly 😊
This lesson is well put together. I have received more out of it than other searches. The presenter has given a clearer understanding through thorough explanation. She spends a minimal amount of time on each stage but speaks clear in her examples, which set an understanding on what the child-adult is going through. One example I like is allowing the child to put their own clothes on and supporting their effort. Another is in stage 4, when the presenter talks of the child's need to show competence/pride among their peers and parents. The presenter also explains the negative outcome through good examples; like, how rebellion and not knowing who they are, a big stage in transitioning to adulthood. Also, there is comments about how mistakes, stress, and loss of control contribute to balance, when some guilt does contribute to positive choices. Yes, this video is my go-to for Erikson's PD. Well done.
I find it very fascinating how this theory, made so long ago, still applies today. I can see how I went through or will go through each of these stages in my life. Psychology is so interesting.
It seems like Erikson got in a bit of a rush towards the end of these stages, I mean 18-40 years old is a large age gap. Of course more development happens at an earlier age and therefore has more phases. But I think it would be useful to have a more specified 6th stage. Great video!
No, it’s a theory of development as in how people develop into the behavior they exhibit as adults. some things are so fundamental once they’re experienced in childhood they affect the individual for the rest of their lives, whether it’s to unlearn or further explore whatever trait it is, just like ur body you don’t grow fundamental skills learned in childhood. For example forbidden experiments where children raised w wolfs could no longer learn Human language or mannerisms. Yes you can learn but you can not change fundamental skills as far as we know so it wouldn’t make sense to have development up until the person is 40 because at that time they have already developed their personality.
I think that this is a fair criticism to make. 18-40 really is a large age gap however, it might not actually be a large as it seems in other cases. The other thing is that this theory is considered under the psychosocial framework and like it was stated at the beginning of the video this means that it is mostly to do with the development of an individual's sense of self in combination with external factors related to the external world within a social context meaning friends, family, society and culture.
The theory itself is also about 70 years old and formed at a time when psychology was in its infancy.
I love that he rushed through the later stages! It would have been crazier to retain all these stages!
thank you for the help I'm a visual learner this helps a lot.
My way of memorizing them: There are initial industries identifying intimacy ---without-- general integrity.
Alla Albonijim thank you that helps
I copied the charts in my notebook about two theories Psychosocial and psychosexual because is more clear concepts.
Thank you! I put my twist on it and put
There are initial industries identifying intimacy, generosit, and integrity
@@savannahhalm this is helpful , thanks
They’re projecting their non confidence in this subject
Material presented was refresher from pediatrics and psychology courses in nursing school. It reinforced what presented in my practice based competencies .
This video helped me study for my AP Psych. test. Thank you!

Its like learning a new language! In a whole new world!
Thanks for taking the time, I enjoyed the video.
Frued. Can you hold my beer? Erikson. No.
You're a saviour💀❤️
Great presentation! You really helped me understand Erickson's Developmental Stages. You made it simple. I can now relax.
not gonna lie, this was very infromative thank you very much. job well done my dear
The information is good---but the recorded part needs to be corrected so it is smooth and clear please.
thanks! served as review of my college years :)
Great presentation. However, I could barely hear it...
Thank you for doing this presentation!! Very helpful :D
The volume keeps changing and just as I turn it up the volume gets louder and my ears get blasted.
thank you khan academy
thanks for this great video
Great video, very informative thank you
very helpul
Thank you so much, this is helpful for us folks who need to take licensing exams.
I'm one of those people. This Saturday is my date.Im praying I nail it!!
great video! It was very easy to understand, and the use of real-world examples made it easy to apply too!
Hope will give purpose to competence, fidelity, love, care and wisdom
This was a great presentation. It has helped me to understand the topic better. Thank you very kindly for sharing.
thank you soooo much
Good presentation. Think there is an issue with the volume/sound? Hearing a lot of background feedback or something, slightly distracting as I keep preparing for another loud surge in volume.
Thank you fro this video.
Hi from Robertson College.
Well explained would appreciate more videos like this
thank you
this video was very helpful thank you!
Please add volume, @Khan Academy.
I have had to watch this content for school. While I find the it very informative and helpful, the sound quality is unbearable at times.
Glad to know it wasn't just me with audio issues. I think this topic needs to be remade with the intentions of fixing these problems.
What psychological crisis result in either a feeling of confidence or inedequacy? ?
Autonomy vs shame and doubt
Trust vs mistrust.
Industry vs inferiority.
Initiative vs guilt
Please answer
inadequacy..ijs

I loved this presentation. The descriptions are great. It really held my attention well!
Excellent teaching!
thank you very much
That helped me so much.
How was my parents able to miss the first four stages…..🤣
very clear. Thanks
The most depressing yet interesting theory I've learned about all month
supper helpful, Thank you
thank you for this
I’m isolated but I’m happy.
The video is just amazing . Thank you very much.
This audiovisual is amazing ! the theories are more clear.
Thank you! This is great.
such microphone, very high quality, much wow
good job!
Thank youuuuu
great lesson
I like this video, but the audio quality is terrible, it starts off way low and then gets weird a few minutes in - very distracting from the message/lesson
Inadequacy
My Pearson Textbook has different information in regards to the age bracket to Erikson's Theory.
I too have different age brackets; remember though, each child is slightly different and the importance is to watch for their developmental occurrences. The age brackets are general guides that can fluctuate for each stage.
Really good information! We just dropped a rap explaining this theory 🔥🔥🔥 I really like the framework!
It does ring bell..
What program are you using to create these presentations? Very nicely done.
Well this lets in to why I have so many issues.
What can I do if my childhood was held narcissisticly?
Reimprinting
Or simply noticing how you structure reality now and where you want to have more flexibility and options in your representations of reality or what behaviours/skills/values that can be modeled, added or changed as you continue to change from day to day, this time with a direction in mind
8. Ego integrity
all - for me
Great visual presentation 🤩 however the poor quality of the sound is irritating.
But I'm grateful for the information 😉
A very Freudian perspective at 0:05 (:
mejehehehejejeje
A Freudian slip you might even call it
;)
A lot of the information shared was taken from Dawn Apgar's social work book...and I don't see it mentioned on here??
Noemi Flores the ages in Dawns book differ from what's in this video. Kind of confusing, as the information shared conflicts.
Good video but the sound quality is low. Also, I was able to read everything except for the red. It kind of blended into the background.
ua-cam.com/video/UZaFBt4ys-A/v-deo.html
6:35 inadequacy
I've got a question. From the psychological disorders unit, do people develop antisocial personality disorder because of a failure to realize any guilt during the third stage?
not a bad video if the speaker didn't have their back to the mic, can hardly understand her with headphones on
Why is it not there on app?
INADEQUACY!
lmaaoooo
What program did you use to film this? Ive been looking for something like this for my presentations.
Erikson was so wrong, but his goal to try to understand was very noble.
Oh. You cleared up everything quite nicely. Thanks. -__-
Guys, we should all just ignore her Freudian slip, we all mess up. Besides, it was an unconscious choice ;)
Great content, but the sound is really bad. :/
0:07 it's not psycho-sexual development, it's psycho-social development
Lol I no right
Yea, the fact that it is a psycho-social theory is kind of important, one of the ways it differentiates from Freud who made the psycho-sexual theory. Oh well, beyond that it's a good video.
Yeah, big mistake
love this, thank you so much for sharing! very helpful!
your audio is good.

how do you create these presentations?!?!
use the subtitles....
14:41 Inadequacy should be the spelling. You still misspelled it, but I know those days too well. Thanks for the explanation.
The problem. Is that every time you say the letter P in any word or at any time. You sPit. SPIT. Into the mic. This is gross. It makes it difficult to listen to your videos, because I usually use earbuds which help me focus, but when it sounds as though you are spitting directly into my ear, it makes the whole video extremely difficult to watch. However, it is an unfortunate course requirement.
