i guess this 5-minute instruction is worth more than 90 minutes i spent attending my lecture
so true
Very concise and it's put more simply. Best way to learn something initially is to get the basics as this video so eloquently points out.

holy cow, this explains why I'm having such an identity crisis now in my 20s. lol I'm like - why in the world do I care so much about what other people think - I used to not care
'I' does the ACT and 'ME' evaluates the act. This evaluation can be done both before and after the act. So the people who are more individualistic(dominant 'I' in personality) do the act first without evaluating it and w/o evaluating how others might perceive it and they are considered to be more innovative, self centric, etc and on the other hand people who are more conscious about their words and actions(dominant 'ME' in personality) always evaluate(based on society's aspect) the act before performing the act and they are considered to be more wise.
Basically 'I'- your individual personality and 'ME'- your social personality derived from the interaction you do with and within the society.
OH MY GOD MORE DEVELOPMENTAL STAGES ARE YOU KIDDING ME WHY DOES THE MCAT HATE US SO MUCH
Amen, brotha
Facts. Literally the dumbest thing ever. Has nothing to do with medicine lol. Never will see these concepts again and as well never seen them in college lol
Brilliant, i have been lost in class for a while and you have explained it beautifully.
Thank you for this!! Beautiful explanation.
Makes things much easier to understand. :)
Thanks for discussing this! Way better than the prof I have for sure!
Very informative. Thanks for this one!
Very helpful!!
Thank You for this video!
Your video is much more of a help than my teacher explaining it.
Thanks!
thanks for the very good explanation
Graduated with a sociology degree at the end of last year. Been looking to learn/relearn sociological concepts. This has been one of my favorite finds after looking around for a few months. Thanks!
Brillant!
Oh my god this actually helped me so much thank you! (I'm in grade 10) I had to conduct a social experiment incorporating the ideas of Solomon Asch and George Mead and i didn't understand mead for soo long after seeing like a thousand videos about him this is the only one that actually helped me
LMao this is a better instructor then my proffesorr
this was great
So in the game stage, it is a combination og preparatory and play?
You've just saved my brain from exploding while writing the discussion of my dissertation. Thankyou!
What is the difference between generalized others and significant others ? How are they influencing the actor in the Game Stage ?
Actual video starts from 4:32
Thank you...
I didn't get the I and the me.... :(
i never grew out of stage 2. darn. when I reach level 3

paimon?
cute stickman
aaaaaand I don’t get it
Haru? Is that you?
Ohk so you copied from brooke channel or she copied it from you 🙄
r u serious, this is the original one
This is the most idiotic concept I have ever had to learn
agreed
200% agree, still cant get it, i just think "I" is the drunk version of me
Why is that? I think this is one of the most broadly differentiated interdisciplinary concepts i have ever learned. It connects Psychology to Social Philosophy and Sociology and brings sense into the reason that our identity is socially dependent.
this stuff isn't for everybody
Dont you think it is the most interesting theory about how our behaviour is shaped. And why we actually do whatever we do and we barely have a call in that because our behaviour is shaped by the society.
I’d really appreciate a less high pitch voice. I’m not an a**hole I’m just hypersensitive.

these mcat psych/soc kahn videos are terrible..unclear and imprecise af..if you pay close attention, it is hard to find a single continuous line of thought get presented..the narrators are all over the place which makes it impossible to integrate the individual pieces to conceptualise the topic as a unified whole. i cant believe there are people who can learn more easily from this nonsense than a textbook or class lecture.
because it cuts all the details we learned in class. A simplified version helps tie together a summary.
