Having this on the background while taking a break from studying takes away the guilt while also reinforcing what I'm supposed to be doing.. It's a great resource to add to revision!
Abby that’s why I’m here too 🤣 cheers 🥂
You made my day 😊 and gave me inspiration, thank you
Exactly what Im doing
I'm guilty as well
Learning about moral development at 4am.
Lmao here 2021! Same but junior learning hour for me!
Me right now lol, buts it’s 2022 ✌️
It is 2023, learning about moral development at 4 am
3:39 AM
Yeah neh. It's called sikolo😅
Thank you so much You are helping me understand these concepts clearly!! Keep up the good work.
Could this video be remade? the audio quality feels lacking, and its like the voiceover was speaking too close to the mic, yet is too quiet
To clarify this it is 1. Pre-Conventional Morality, Conventional Morality and Post-Conventional Morality
Broken down into sub categories
Yes, Kohlberg identified 3 levels and 6 stages.
"Usually the moral and legal standpoints coincide. Here they conflict. The judge should weight the moral standpoint more heavily but preserve the legal law in punishing Heinz lightly" Kohlberg 1976
Studying for my LCSW test and found this to be very helpful. Thank you
Same :) good luck
Thanks so much. Finally I understood Kohlberg Theory! 👏👏👏
Appreciate Khan 🙏 Many folks’ fall within post-conventional.. more localized than Gandhi ex. … people leave their job/catch scrutiny. Happiness may even derive from behaving aligned w/ one’s morals/values, such as advocating rights for people w/ disabilities and for LBGQT
What about the main man JC. Jesus was level 7 according to Kohlberg
Excellent! You made things very clear. Thank you.)
Thanks for your presentation, your voice sounds pretty~😊
you explain it easy , just perfect video
Seems like only a certain group of people reach the highest level of morality, and the way this country is run as well as the social injustices that continue to be an issue since the civil rights era reflects this fact.
Not sure how you did these graphics, but awesome presentation! Thank you- helped a lot.
+Milissa Buckles every video from Khan academy use these graphics. There's probably a special software for this type of videos.
ok, thanks
VERY HELPFUL!!! Thank you sooooo much! 🌸
I am always in stage 6, but post conventional is impractical to the example, so the most realistic is conventional, which means that the most moral person will be punished by the law regardless of fairness. So it tends to be about how self sacrificing one is and for its own sake, but the delimma most practical answer is that protesting will do nothing, and because I'm trying to become more practical, the answer of being conventional is the most correct, but not the most right.
Pretty good video, but I wished you gave example answers to the Heinz question for each stage, not just #5.
Excellent presentation! It helped a lot.
Great tutorial
Having to watch this for my college class because it's self taught. Lol
😭😭
Yup, this nursing course is not helpful whatsoever
@@chhoragangakinarewala3847 bruh
much better explanation in this video.
@
Awesome video..! Got cleared in the concept..
Hussain Ibn Ali was the one who was at the pinnacle of Stage 6.
He took a moral stance and paid the ultimate price.
Thanks for the content. Would love to see a re-upload with a better quality & more consistent in volume audio track laid over it
Just Thank you
You probably have earned a PhD, are a project manager or professor somewhere, and have children of your own - by now …
‘ Still. Thank you, Mrs. Desai.
I came here in search of actual live footage of Mr. Kohlberg ( which, apparently, is nonexistent ).
Nevertheless ; this, as well as the report on the subject from that sixth grader, is commendable. 👍🏾
Great explanation! Can you please speak up? :)
I can hear her just fine... It's that annoying vocal fry that distracts me from the real message, ugh... why do young girls talk this way smh
This is so helpful thank you for this
Your video is best kohlbeg stage
thank you
Thank you SOOO much
Learning about moral development at 2am
do we have to know the ages associated with it?
Very nice And impressive,,thanku so much for this video
When we went over that dilemma in my uni social psych class, one of the fellow seniors was firmly stuck in conventional morality, despite aiming to become a therapist :/ she was really caping for big pharma saying the dude can charge however much he wants and it doesn't matter who dies because "theft is illegal"
Kant seems to be stuck in this stage too :-)
@@halimselim6743 that’s exactly what I was thinking. According to the categorical imperative, one must not steal… because if everyone stole… then society would fall apart.
Dang this just shows how I am under developed and had a bad chill hood.
Others keep on saying nasty things about the audio. Just a remibder, you can actually use your earphone.
Thanks so much!
Watch it at 1.25 speed.
Mrs. roark class wyaaa!!!!
Sounds like he understands why we protest.
Indivual rights and for the greater good are often contradictory depending on values both individual and collective.
The Psych videos for MCAT could use an entire revamp. Not the best work.
Here in 2021 a lot of people are reaching the Universal Ethical Principle
YOU THE BEST
Why is the sound so low? It auto jumps to the next video and it's like you're screaming. Please fix, I don't care if the video is years old, please fix.
super
Audio is terrible. Could barely hear
Hey how are you?
@@browntv7555 Hey how are you?
This was so confusing to listen to just the audio of. You use stages, levels, and phases interchangeably throughout. I didn’t know wth was going on
it wasnt that confusing. You just did not pay attention lol
No women at level 6? You should have thought about some! (maybe Peter Singer too, about animalism). I LOVE your videos, I just subscribed!
Audio causes headache......🤯🤯♞
Good diagram...audio quality was bad with less decibels even on a good smartphone.
Very good presentation though.
Here for the pertinent facts only and skip the storytelling:

I think Shreena's biases are coming through: @ 2:03 the chemist is a female -- when the chemist developed the drug. But the chemist becomes a man not even 10 seconds later @ 2:12 when it turns out the chemist is a greed hound.
we appreciate the video, really, but please get straight to the point without the 1 minute intro. Most of us are watching on 2x speed and cramming for exams and whatnot.
I took this quiz in my psychology class and was the only person in my class at level 6. ... I was very surprized !
Beth Cassidy I don't need to take the test but I already know I'm stage 7 , like I can use cosmical ethical principle to know if something is whether good or bad. But I can tell that the biggest difference between stage 6 and stage 7 is truth . Because universal principles are made for humans but cosmic principles are made for everybody regardless of your specie.
That's pretentious and plain wrong Jaction...
eh ok eh I agree with you but I think it’s also possible we could say the same about Kohlberg. Lol jk jk
At least Kohlberg did some research. Don't you think?
which is precisely what I aim to do with my degree. However, I don't think it's a crime for me to make light of things and try to make someone smile. @@miguiprytoluk
Hard to hear you it’s very frustrating
...make that level 6..:)*)💖
Fix your levels on the volume
Is the term pre-moral the same with preconventional morality? Because thats what it should be isn't it?
Yes
So many people are stuck at Level 1 or 2.
Level 3 people go vegan :D
gandhi on the beat women type beat
Martin Shkreli is definition of the greedy druggist
Thanks for the help! Keep up the good work (Try speaking up a bit..)
well explained
#TS1
Should have mentioned people with Autism and what stage they are stuck in as well as other mental disorders
Woman what is wrong with your sound system ?
Batman is an example of Universal Ethical Principle
I still can't evaluate the Heinz dilemma without using Kantian ethics, despite the shortcomings of Kant's theories. We can't very well have everyone breaking into pharmacies. I'm not a fan of the Heinz dilemma for this reason, and for the reason that there must be other options than committing a likely felony. By presenting a finite solution, Kohlberg rigged the game from the get go. There are few dilemmas in life that can only be solved one way.
Still, I respect his ideas and quality of thought as a researcher.
These are not the names of the levels in my textbook. Where the hell did you come up with these.
All the prophets were in level 6, and Gandhiji, Nelson Mandela learnt from their teachings😀
how did she write that quickly using mouse?!
She's probably using a sketching pad that is connected to the computer
THANKS but I want to buy you a pop filter and advise you to sit back from the mic
can someone elaborate stage 2?😭
Girl, do something about your mic. That’s rough. Good info though
Watching at 23:43. Cat
His case study was solely boys. FYI.
i literally listed the three rebels in that exact order when u asked if we could think of someone in history who achieved that level omg
+Flame Did you know that Ghandi was kind of racist? I wasn't too deep into the research about him, but I would suggest to research all the people that you consider morally superior if they are really such.
Arnoldas Trumpickas i
Flame you are beautiful as FIRE
Approximate ages are missing
According to Kohlberg, however, it would seem that Hitler's level of morality was on par with Gandhi's. They both went against societal norms for what they wholeheartedly believed was morally correct. This video does not highlight any of the problems with completely subjective, individual morality.
M.k.Gandhi considered himself to be Hitler’s friend.
You have to understand the difference between being wrong about someone, and condoning their actions. I do not believe there is a chance that if Gandhi knew that Hitler was trying to commit genocide, he would still have called him "my friend"
Hitler did not embrace universal ideas about equality, and did not act from a deep empathy for all sentient beings (stage six). He acted from self interest - and in the interest of the Aryan race. Yes; both Gandhi and Hitler "went against societal norms for what they wholeheartedly believed was morally correct" - bot Hitler did so anchored in self-interest (self as national/ethnic), whereas Gandhi (ref HeOf7's comment) potentially would call Hitler a friend - as he might perceive him as a sentient being - and thus as valuable. Stage six acts from deep empathy to all beings - and Hitler (from what we can gather) acted from hatred.
Hitler lowkey never made it past stage 2 in preconventional lmao
Kohlbergs development describes development and not actual morality. It’s touched upon here but this has to do with reasoning and not the conclusion of the reasoning.
more better if you speak your mic louder...low voice
so... stage six is BATMAN? or is Batman stage 5?
I would guess Batman is stage 6. a police officer trying to arrest Batman for vigilante justice would be stage 5.
I would guess Batman is stage 6. a police officer trying to arrest Batman for vigilante justice would be stage 5.
A police officer trying to arrest Batman would actually be stage 4. Because he is upholding law and order, while Batman irregards the law
Batman's stage is six for sure ;)
Jesus was stage 7!
So Kohlberg is a Kantian
Recorded on Potato v2.0
omg!!! the audio....terrible: lecture good
Is this the same girl on Piaget theory? why her voice became hoarse, it was hot in the previous video.
Very very well sorkh salam but voice is little low
stage 6 = Batman
Get a better mic...I can't hear
Ironic that she mentions ghandi, considering the things that came out against him later on.
There is NO universal ethical standard.
I was just thinking the same thing.
audio is terrible
Vruh
MLK reached that stage.
Jesus Christ was past stage 6
Come for khans sweet asmr voice.. 0/10
fix your mic
Windscreen, so many plosives.
