I loved this video, Ken, and the way you presented "stealth camping" was excellent. I love this way of camping. I wish all those who entered our beloved forests would treat them the way you do so our descendants can enjoy what has been bestowed upon by the man above. I have the same tent but mine is OD green. I was stationed at Lackland in San Antonio and subsequently retired there. The surrounding lakes, Braunig, Calaveras, Choke Canyon and others provided some really awesome adventures for me and my buddies which included incredible bass fishing in our bass tracker. I wish that I had spent more time in East Texas though...I'll be back someday now that I'm "totally" retired. We are considering moving to Waco as I truly love the Hill Country. I would love to meet one day on the trail.
Woke up to a cold Vermont morning, and so enjoyed your slow and easy campout with my coffee. I like your reasonable gear too and leave no trace. You're a real joy.
this guy is awesome, he is so calm when he talks, gets down to the point of what he does, enjoying nature at its finest, to each his own on supplies and so forth, but this is some brotherly love right here.
I can't fathom why anyone would dislike this video. Thanks Kenneth, for sharing knowledge with us and helping me to prepare for my own cross-country trip
very nice video with lots of great information. I glad you enjoyed the acorn meal. I though, you as a historical researcher, would enjoy it most of all the guys I mailed it to. cheers
Hi Alan, Yes, the acorn meal coffee was awesome It reminded me of the cornmeal coffee (which is made by grinding dried corn). The acorn meal was sweeter, however. I plan to save the remaining corn meal for our spring bushcraft meet-up in TN. The guys will love it! ATB, Ken
Kenneth, thank you so much for this video. I live in central London (England) and I have always loved tents. We don't have much opportunity here to get out to the country for camping weekends because we have to travel quite a long way but I do have a tent that I put up in my living room sometimes. People think I'm mad but I find it so comfortable. I sit in it for hours listening to the radio. I also love the countryside so your video has made me more determined to actually get out and go camping! Thanks again, Kenneth.
Hi Tom. Thanks for writing and commenting. It means a great deal to me. Several of my friends in the US do the same thing…put tents up in the living room. Sometimes I sleep in a tent in the living room with the grandchildren too. Lots of fun. I'm glad to know that my video has encouraged you to go camping outdoors! One of the reasons I purchased this tent is because it has single wall construction (and other people say it performs well without condensation). Because of the single wall, it is easy to setup during rainstorms….and doesn't get wet on the inside (unlike my expensive backpacking tents --- that have separate rainflies. Have a good week ahead! ATB … Ken
Great video Ken. Seeing you out there appreciating the natural world like that is inspirational and motivating to me. I have been primitive/dispersed camping for years but its interesting to see the way you do it.
Thank you for sharing another fun & inspiring video, Ken - I really appreciate your efforts & the beauty of nature you capture, your insights & enthusiastic appreciation for enjoying nature, shared wisdom & sincere camaraderie with those of like mind. Also, thanks for putting the extra effort into sharing such detailed info & links about the gear, places, people & educational sites relevant to your videos - which are really top notch. You have great gifts, friend - thanks for sharing them.
Thanks Malcom. Unfortunately, many places only allow camping in designated sites… but where wilderness camping is permitted …. it's AWESOME> Have a good weekend, my friend.
Ken, your video makes me wish I still had the legs for that style of camping. Over the years, we've had a couple of pickup truck slide-in campers. The smaller of the two stayed on our truck full time. Usually it was an oversized storage box, because we took a tent and used it often, instead. Favorite places were always away from organized camping areas. Love the peace and solitude that you portrayed here. Just to be still, watch & listen as the sun rises and the natural world wakes up. To drink in all nature has to offer while sitting beside a small hidden stream. To relish the simplicity of making a cup of coffee in this complex world. Your videos express that and more. Their sense of peace comes through softly and clearly. Almost as if being their to experience it first hand. Thank you for that, my friend. A much treasured gift, this morning.
Hi Lee. To me, there is nothing better than the quiet beauty of the outdoor world. The older I get, the more difficult it is to hike and camp in the way shown in the videos. Often times I don't walk very far, but rather enjoy the beauty natural peace. I'm attempting to make videos in such a way that viewers feel they are coming along. ATB, my friend. …Ken
I really enjoyed this video, my father-in-Law used to camp but mostly hike until he was 75 yrs. young (unfortunately he had a stroke). I have camped many, many times and my husband has been hiking since he was 5 yrs young, we are both 50 now, but plan on taking our teenagers hiking and camping. I found your video to be incredibly informative and calming. As I was watching I was wishing I was there. Living in the city makes me really want to go to the woods and camp. I did subscribe and look forward to watching more ! Best of Health and Happy Camping to you !! Carol from Boston MA.
Hi Carol. Thanks for watching my videos and subscribing. Being outdoors is very relaxing and invigorating at the same time. We too are city dwellers, but after retiring 10 years ago, my wife and I moved to a small town, near a state forest, were I volunteer as a naturalist. ATB, Ken
Hi Ken, It been along time since I've commented on your channel but I do watch your terrific videos. We Share a mutual love for the outdoors as your viewers also do. I'm a big fan of stealth camping and have always considered the woods a sacred place but I'm willing to share thoughts and a few places with good people. I too always leave no trace and have filled my pockets with litter some slobs leave behind. No big deal. But the serenity of our natural world is too precious to ignore. Thanks as always for sharing a great video. Peace my friend! Pete.
Ken--Thanks for another great video!! The Little Lake Creek Wilderness is one of my favorite spots on the Lone Star Hiking Trail! I have shared your video on the Lone Star Hiking Trail Yahoo Group and Facebook page. PS: Love the squirrel!
That was cool actually hearing the Barred owls you said you were hearing. I hear those on a friends property here in WV all the time. Great video on dispersed camping, I'll be heading out for my next dispersed adventure soon!
I love camping in the National Forests that often surround our National Parks. I'm surprised that more people don't do it, but I'm grateful for the quiet.
Ken, great video of a great outing. I very much appreciate the respect that you have for nature and all that comes with it. Your enthusiasm for it all is very infectious. Every time I watch one of your videos, it primes me to start planning on my next outing. Thank you sir!
That was an excellent video, Ken. I love the squirrel watching you walk by. Great advice on picking locations. It was good to see the Sawyer squeeze in action. I'm planning to buy the mini. The acorn coffee look delicious, i will have to try that myself. I agree with Bob808... i love your text colours..I usually use black or white... But I may start using other colours now! Thanks for another great video. It was great to watch while eating my breakfast.
Super video, Ken. I started watching it late last night and then passed out cold after eating my wifes' store bought fried chicken with jalapenos. MMM good. I also ate my favorite childhood meal - 2 slices of "spam"- this one was the lite variety. I just like it! But back to your "show"- what a paradise, the trek you made. All the sounds of nature without any sign of intrusion. You are becoming better at being "one" with nature. God love you, Ken. Your videos are becoming great masterpieces of the outside world. Forget outer space--this is the real life walk and you are doing it. I hope your own kin realize your specialness. You are unique! My wife even said, "Ken is just like you, experimenting and doing". That's a complement to the both of us. Thank you, sir! ATB, Jb.
Nice meal, Jb; mmm it would put me to sleep too. It was a beautiful weekend. I was surprised that the parking lots (for the wilderness area) were filled. This of us who enjoy the outdoors must all have had the same Idea. Wonderful weekend. I met three YouTubs subscribers too. I'm trying to make videos that portray the feelings of love and peace that I receive when being outdoors. Also, folks new to hiking and camping have many questions --- so videos like this are intended to provide an introduction …and make the experience of primitive camping less frightening. My wife likes the outdoors …. but only when viewed through a window. So our backyard has a wonderful view of nature with many bird feeders. She sits and watching all day. ATB, my friend. Ken
Man you are becoming a Master Stealth Camper thats for sure!! You've definitely got me convinced to do a couple trips this year! I just ordered the bushbox hobo stove, can't wait to use it. They look awesome for this type off outing! Enjoyed as always, have great week end!
Hi Josh. It's awesome to do this type of primitive camping. I'm experimenting with different ways to reduce pack weight … and being stealth helps. Stay tuned for another practice exercise, before I film the final "Secrets of Stealth Camping" project in March. These "practices exercise videos" will be used as reference videos for folks who what to do different kinds of stealth …. enjoy the weekend! I'm volunteering at a local nature center park / at the Texas Master Naturalist Booth; encouraging folks to become "Certified Texas Master Naturalists." This is a program sponsored by the State. ATB, Ken
I really liked this video Ken! Great job! I'm glad you made the remark about never using the same path to and from your camp area. I've been doing stealth camping so long that it's something I forget mention. Lol. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Shane. As you know there are a several of reasons for not taking the same path: 1) if people are watching, they will wonder what's off trail AND you will no longer be stealth. 2) taking the same path will result in a trail that people will want to explore, and 3) a negative environmental impact. There are many things plan to demonstrate in the upcoming film "secrets of stealth camping." These practice exercise, include different types of "stealth" and will become reference videos for viewers interested in different topics. I plan to film the "secrets" video in March -- when there are wildflowers, etc. I've discovered a great location where I need to bike down a closed road for several miles to a lake that has an awesome view. A musician friend has produced custom music that will be used for the introduction / conclusion and major transitions. Other than that … all sounds will be recorded in the field. The completed project will also include clips from other UA-camrs too! Have a great weekend, Ken
Great video, I always find it funny that most people have special names for this sort of camping. Things like stealth camping, or primitive camping, etc. But to me and how I was taught camping growing up, this is normal camping. Even a bit fancy to me, since I usually use a canvas tarp as my shelter and a blanket. I'd of used all those dead dry leaves for my bed. And when you leave, just spread them back out so it looks like no one was ever there. Keep up the great videos Ken. And enjoy every moment you get to spend outdoors.
PEACE Ken, This is a great video, I identified strongly with it. However I have never slept well on a thermarest and find the cheap backpackers inflatable ribbed beds far more comfy tho less robust. Thanks for another wonderful video. It is cold and damp in the UK right now. Sandy
Thanks Sandy. Interesting. My back likes thermarest pads much better than inflatable ribbed beds. Wish I could sleep directly on the ground…but my body goes numb unless there is plenty of leaf litter / spanish moss / soft ground. I wanted to demo camping with an inexpensive tent in this vid; and this tent worked better than expected. Hammock camping is so much lighter / easier / with less environmental impact. But many folks don't sleep well in hammocks. We consider the current weather in southeast Tex to be cold and damp….but its all a matter of perception. It is much colder/damper in the UK, I'm sure. Best time for camping / hiking is from now until May. After that it is too hot with too many biting invertebrates and venomous snakes. Peace, Ken
Thanks for inviting us along for another great adventure! That root sure did look like a snake at first glance! Peace brother, and many more happy trails!
This is a great video. I was able to get a very good idea on how to safely get out there while being informed enough to do it correctly. Thanks and good work.
Ken I am certain I will be like you when I get older, I have the same exact tent and love it, very comfy for one person, plenty room for gear and to change clothes in. I also purched a burlap type of camo tarp that the hunters use for camo and I throw it over my tent to really camo my tent. I to will be off trail camping in a few days. Thanks for your video.
I enjoy your videos Kenneth, I'm a scout from the U.K and we are going to be doing a Dispersed camping trip next weekend. Cant wait! I love you videos they help me to think about what I'm doing in the outdoors and making sure I've got the right gear. So I subscribed and liked cant wait for your next video :) -Ben-
Thanks Ben. I'm glad that the information in this video is useful to folks in the U.K. I'm sure that your camping trip will be a lot of fun. Scouting is a great organization. Stay tuned for my next vid.... ATB ... Ken
This video was particularly affirming for me. I have never "studied up" on primitive camping. I've just followed the old principle, "Take only pictures, leave only steps." It was gratifying to know that I follow about 95% of your best practices -- even the "El Cheapo" tent! The one thing I don't comply with is that I have a bright orange tent. I've just never trusted myself to find my tent again if I wander off, particularly when I'm very tired. -- The most amazing thing is when I quit walking and crunching leaves and just sit still. At first, the forest is silent. But after about 5 minutes, it comes back to life: Squirrels chattering and running around, birds tweeting, and more. :)
510Russ Hi Russ. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. It means a lot to me. The forest is full of life and is very interesting, if people take time and learn to under sting the rhythms of nature. ATB, Ken
I like to use my hammock for primitive camping as it doesn't require a flat spot which is often provided in traditional campgrounds. The term "stealth" has a more illegal stigma attached to it than "dispersed" or "primitive" camping. Nice video.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Good points. You are absolutely that hammocks are great for primitive camping for the reasons you state; plus they are lighter weight and smaller to carry than traditional tents. Strictly speaking, stealth means "invisible." Often people want to be stealth, so they can observe wildlife better, have low visual impact, and leave-no-trace. Folks can stealth camp legally, but the term is frequently used to reference illegal camping.
Another great video Ken. Looks like a beautiful area to camp. I'm going on another quick camping trip next month, that I do regularly during the year, to one of my favourite gold prospecting areas. I'll video this so you can see how I do it. :) Cheers.
Great Video Kenneth, My son and I have been camping in the Allegheny National Forest for a few years. We usually take old logging roads that have primitive campsites off the roads, but we are really interested in getting into some real primitive camping. Great tips and I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
I have this tent. I've had similar tents in the past. Once in an extreme storm on Padre Island. Sustained high winds. The tent is strong and will hold up if secured properly. The tent will leak. Wind will blow water through the seams. To correct this I used three coats of scotch guard. the entire tent must be treated not just seam sealer. Also using the original poles, I cut two inch pieces of broom handle that I drilled one end to fit on top of the tent poles. The other end I shaped and sanded until round and smooth. I then could stretch a small camo tarp over the tent as a rain fly. Condensation is also a problem so make sure the back window is open enough to prevent this. Great value for the money. Brian
Brian Bloodworth Thanks for your comments. I've uses seam sealer which has helped. The biggest problem I have had with the tent is water blowing the entrance... if it is windy.
Brian Bloodworth I'm thinking of adding a small vestibule ... for storage space. But after getting 1 inch of water in the tent (through a entrance that was partly open) during a heavy rainstorm... I have haven't used the tent sense ...
Really great video Ken. Your videos are always a treat to get to watch. I used to have a similar tent to that. One trick I always did..on your side guy line ropes, about halfway down the rope I would put a stick upright about 2ft tall. This will pull the sides of your tent out and up instead of down. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
I have the same tent. For the weight and pack size it just cant be beat without spending $300+ on a big agnes. If you use trekking poles or just rope between 2 trees its 2.5 pounds. You could also just cut a couple sticks on arrival or if you use the poles it comes with its only 3.5 pounds. Only thing youll need to do it brush on some seamler, spray it with camp dry, and replace with paracord.
Ken - it was nice to meet you on the trail head in the forest - as I said then - I thought you looked familiar! - btw - when we backpack and use dehydrated meals, we use two back-to-back pot holders sewn together to hold the meal bag - then pour the hot water directly into the meal bag. Clean-up is simple for you just roll up the meal container and pack it out in your take-out bag - your water heating cup stays clean from only having had only water inside - see you again soon on the trail - Mike & Colleen
Hi Mike and Colleen. It was nice to meet both of you. I usually pour hot water into the meal bag; but this meal was for two servings and I wouldn't be able to eat it all. Since I forgot to bring an extra baggie, the best approach was to put the food in the cup (and save the extra for another meal). I know doing this required extra clean-up, but I didn't want to waste the food. I'll be on the LST again as soon as it warms up; to do another vid, where I sleep in a disposable tent made from a modified/ventilated trash bag. After I finish camping, I'll use the tent/trash bag to pick up trash. The purpose of the video will be to encourage other campers to pick up trash. I will also talk about Trash Bash, March 29th. In celebration of 10,000 subscribers to my channel, subscribers will be invited to make video responses on how they clean up trash when camping. Winner will receive prizes. ATB, Ken
Hey Mike -- I wanted to give you an update. I will use the film clip of us meeting at the trail head in the upcoming film on "Secrets of Stealth Camping." The purpose of this film is to address a broad interest in this topic and answer the many questions about how to do it legally and safely. It is the most complex, complete and hopefully interesting video I have ever made. The introduction music for it was developed specifically for this film. Anyway, stay tuned…. It's taking a while to get the film completed…and it will be late March or early April before it is uploaded. Question: You state your first and last name in the film. I can bleep out your name, if you want… or I can leave it as is. Let me know. Thanks. ATB, Ken
Also I pre-filter my water with a coffee filter, cheap, light, and can be used as emergency tender. Even a bandanna or t-shirt. Why? The water filter will last longer and not clog so quickly with large debris and particles. Brian
Hey Ken, you have such great videos, I really enjoy watching them, I live in Colorado and you have inspired me to get back outdoors and enjoy nature, thank you so much.
very nice ken, I'm investing in a ground pad for comfort. its warming ,and time for some disperse camping. thanks for being so kind to our forest and leaving no trace while blazing a of trail.. ..bill
Awesome adventure and a beautiful area with all those great sounds. Love it...hope to get there sometimes. You sir have a wonderful way of camping which is one of the closest to mother nature that i know. You are respectful and thankful to her and enjoy what i call home. Thank you Ken my friend and god bless you. Atb from Austria Mike
Ken - Excellent video, thank you for sharing. I like the term "dispersed" camping, describes it well. You have good details, great editing, good comments added where necessary, nice sound too. May I comment on the tent you used: I purchased that tent also, found that it leaks from multiple points. Rain-proofing can only be done by adding a 10x12 cover tarp [camo, of course] on top. I put a grommet on the center of each of the long sides where the top of the poles go thru, then used 4 stakes on each short side (8 stakes total) to bring the sides right down to the ground. This also added space for gear outside the tent under the tarp. It's a bit stuffy but will not allow water through, just around the bottom from outside. This extra tarp does add weight, but since I camp in the Northeast, rain is a perpetual problem. If you add a 10x12 cover tarp to the tent it will work fine in the worst downpours.
Milo Tsukroff Hi Milo. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I haven't had problems with the tent leaking in the seams, even during heavy rainfall. ....but I did use seam sealer. Power, the door opening leaks... and needs vestibule over the area to be waterproof. Water comes into the tent when it is windy from this design flaw. Thanks for describing how you have corrected the problem. ATB, Ken
Great video Ken, been cold here 10 degrees today in NE Missouri, about 30 degrees below average. Looking forward to constant weather 32 or above. Will be my first year camping in I think 10 years! Work and nothing but work and ten years go by.
Thanks Vx777infonet. Hopefully it will warm up soon, so you can go camping! Enjoy getting back to camping in 10 years! I took a 10 year break without camping …. in the 1990s….too busy with family / work…..
Thanks Buckethead. Glad you liked the vid. I'm looking forward to filming the "secrets of stealth camping." Found the perfect location, will need to ride my bike 3 miles along a closed road to get to the location. Awesome area. Stay tuned, my friend
Wonderful night out! I love the sound of rain on a tent, one of my favorite things. In my part of the world we call this wilderness camping and it is my preference, even in the winter with lots of snow. Thanks for sharing Ken.
My brother stays in national parks and free campgrounds 27/7. Currently at the Ocean Pond campground near Lake City, Florida. He will be headed to TN on the 1st of May. Getting warm and insects are heavy in FL this time of year.
Awesome video, Ken! My girlfriend and I were in the Stubblefield lake area last weekend, and that Mountain House rice and chicken definitely hit the spot after a good day's worth of hiking. I was curious, have you done a thru-hike of the lone star trail? Have a nice day - Sam
I love this video.....I prefer the term outlaw camping, but with the responsibilities of one who loves and respects the wilderness!!!

Thanks Mark. Enjoy the weekend. ATB … ken
Another great overnighter, Ken! Far more comfy this time with the new tent. Cool stuff, good tips, awesome, amigo!
Dear Kenneth;
Thank you for the information provided in this video. (as well as the others).
Really enjoy your channel.
Happy trails.
Thanks Donny. Enjoy the day and have an awesome weekend, outdoors!
Nice camp! Thanks for taking us along! Sposta have freezing rain, sleet and snow starting tomorrow, here. Happy trails Ken.
You're welcome. We had a little bit of frost a few weeks ago…. but those days are past. Stay warm, my friend. ATB ….ken
Really great video ken. Awesome reference for those just starting out backpacking.
Thanks bro!
Nice easy going video and over night camp, Thanks for letting us tag along Ken.
Best Wishes......Les.
You're welcome, Les.
ATB, Ken
Interesting video. I'm planning my first solo dispersed camping trip in the White Mountains of NH soon and this was fun to watch!
Cool!
Great video Ken. Thanks! Nice to see how little gear is required for a low impact nature experience.
Wow! I'm already excited about this! Great job
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Have a good week ahead, my friend.
Watching your video while sipping my morning coffee is a great start to the day. Thanks!
You're welcome. Have a good weekend, MrPoppabear255
Loved hearing the birds in the back ground
Thanks Bonnie. Have a good week ahead! ATB ....Ken
hi ken, many thanks for this tour, thumbs up and happy weekend
You're welcome Anke. Enjoy the weekend, my friend.
PEACE Ken,
This is a great video, I identified strongly with it.
Peace,
Ken
Thanks for teaching again. I think this is the best way to camp
Matthew Long You're welcome Matthew. Take care, Ken
Thanks for inviting us along for another great adventure! That root sure did look like a snake at first glance! Peace brother, and many more happy trails!
You're welcome, Turjid!
Another great adventure Ken - enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching!
Great video, pleasant voice to listen to and great attitude. Looked like a beautiful hike.
Cheers!
Thanks Thomas.
Dear Ken, thanks for the video. I like your mindful and respectful dealing with nature and its resources.
Thank you for watching and taking time to comment. Love the bush box. One of my subscribers mentioned (in a PM) that he planned to purchase one.
This is a great video. I was able to get a very good idea on how to safely get out there while being informed enough to do it correctly. Thanks and good work.
Thanks for your feedback, Al. It mean a lot to me. Have a safe weekend ahead. ATB, Ken
This was made 6 years ago, and now dispersed primitive camping is the new trend. Definitely called it first!
Thank you for the video, and for being willing to pick up trash (yours and what you see), you look so content out in the woods, great video
+Marin Mazer Thanks for watching, Marin, and taking time to comment. ATB, Ken
ATB ... Ken
Camping with care. Thanks for the good hints and taking us along.
ATB, Ken
I am new to camping and I learned a lot and I really enjoyed your video you have a very calming voice
John Thomas Thanks John!
Looks like a fun time Ken! You put a lot of hard work in to make a great video. Take care.... Jay
Thanks Jason. Have a good week ahead, my friend.
Folks can stealth camp legally, but the term is frequently used to reference illegal camping.
great little adventure! Thanks, as always, for taking us along!
You're welcome, Primal Edge!
Another great video Ken. Looks like a beautiful area to camp. I'm going on another quick camping trip next month, that I do regularly during the year, to one of my favourite gold prospecting areas. I'll video this so you can see how I do it. :) Cheers.
Hi Andrew. Would be cool to see a video on gold prospecting…. and even better if you find some! Let me know and I'll be sure to watch it. ATB, Ken
Great Video Kenneth, My son and I have been camping in the Allegheny National Forest for a few years. We usually take old logging roads that have primitive campsites off the roads, but we are really interested in getting into some real primitive camping. Great tips and I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
Christopher Ruane Hi Christopher. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. It means a lot to me. ATB, Ken
That owl was neat and so were the birds in the morning. Great video as always, thank you!
I love hearing the birds. And the owls are special!
great vid Ken thanks for taking us along my friend !
You're welcome, my friend. ATB .... Ken
Gracias, por enseñar a acampar con noblesa y respeto por los bosques y seres humanos. Dios lo Bendiga.
Thanks Jason. Great idea for the stick to pull out the sides. I'll definitely use it, the next time. Have a good weekend, my friend. ATB ….ken
Wonderful video again,Ken
Absolutely love your videos.
Thanks Edogawa1117. Much appreciated. Your feedback means a great deal to me. Have a good weekend, my friend.
Brian
Brian Bloodworth Good points!
Awesome tips on camping in parks. well done video Ken. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, my friend.
Hey Ken, you have such great videos, I really enjoy watching them, I live in Colorado and you have inspired me to get back outdoors and enjoy nature, thank you so much.
John Alexander You're welcome John. Colorado is such a great place to enjoy nature. ... Glad you are inspired.... ATB, Ken
very nice ken, I'm investing in a ground pad for comfort. its warming ,and time for some disperse camping. thanks for being so kind to our forest and leaving no trace while blazing a of trail..
..bill
Billy Joe, A ground pad is much more comfortable than leaf litter! Can't wait for our meet-up~ ATB …. ken
Ken excellent video as usual. I'm headed up that way this weekend sort of a recon for spring break.
Nice! Hope you get to do some camping!
Thanks for watching and commenting, Austria Mike. Have a good weekend, my friend.
I took a 10 year break without camping …. in the 1990s….too busy with family / work…..
enjoyed watching Ken , thanks for sharing mate ..
You're welcome, Tony.
Very impressive video, I can tell you put a lot of effort into this but enjoyed it at the same time.

Buckethead
Thanks Buckethead. Glad you liked the vid. I'm looking forward to filming the "secrets of stealth camping." Found the perfect location, will need to ride my bike 3 miles along a closed road to get to the location. Awesome area. Stay tuned, my friend
Love your videos. Your calm and peaceful nature really comes through. Brian
Brian Bloodworth Thanks Brian!
Wonderful night out! I love the sound of rain on a tent, one of my favorite things. In my part of the world we call this wilderness camping and it is my preference, even in the winter with lots of snow. Thanks for sharing Ken.
It's always wonderful to hear the sound of rain on the tent, if I'm dry…. Have a good weekend, my friend. ATB …. Ken
Hi Ken.
Very good video as allways. Great tips.

My brother stays in national parks and free campgrounds 27/7. Currently at the Ocean Pond campground near Lake City, Florida. He will be headed to TN on the 1st of May. Getting warm and insects are heavy in FL this time of year.
I have to say, you've inspired me: while i never leave trash of my own, i don't pick up other's trash either- but now I'm going to start!
Love your work ken. Enjoyed this video
Thanks Malcolm.
Great instructional video! Thanks Ken.
Your welcome, Papilon. Have a good weekend, my friend.

Thanks Sam. Not done a thru-hike of the LST, yet... ATB, Ken
