Subscribed. I just saw a homeless man under a sheet of plastic while it was basically freezing rain outside, and I could tell he was on the bare ground. He’s probably either mentally ill, an addict, or whatever but I don’t even keep my backyard chickens in conditions like that-let alone leave an old man like that. I’m here to learn how to best help him but I don’t have a lot of extra money. I’m going to look for similar gear to yours on Temu or Wish and hopefully I can find some affordable items to give to him. I’m going to start with a double person tent, blanket, and a fire starter.
Thank you for being willing to help. No way to know his situation; but, not all people who are on the street are alcoholics or druggies; sometimes things out of your control just happens & that's where you end up. Some are able to get off the street and unfortunately some people aren't able to.
Please let our home secretary know. She seems to think that being homeless is a lifestyle choice, and is trying to ban tents for the homeless.😢.
One of the best mats for the homeless are plastic grocery bags cut in rings, hooked together and crocheted into a rectangle . It’s light weight, drained well and a good thermal break. The plastic bag yarn is called plarn. Lots of UA-cam how tos. Good for you!
@@nillybetty7599not anymore thank god 😅
@@Ryan_D1994 should have happened much sooner but, I'm not complaining 😉.
not that you are boring. but you have helped me to get to sleep better. i have a huge sleepig problem and these videos make it so easy to get my mind of of stuff. thank you very much for making these!
He’s a very relaxing lad
Same and you learn a lot as well! So relaxing
I fall asleep to my favorite UA-cam channels as well. N I mean it as no insult. Rather the opposite. If I can fall asleep listening to you. It means I find comfort in you. Or your voice. Something. I have a lot of anxiety. N certain channels help me get sleep. I can see how it sounds like it’s an insult
Very peaceful
I am surprised his farts don't keep you up kid; so smelly and noisy!
you've become my favorite creator overnight. I don't recall the last time I sat through a video so captivated, not distracted, not fast forwarding... just entranced the entire way through. your appreciation for the gear you use and the quiet serenity of nature around you shows 💚
My first night tonight watching this amazing creator, I'm truly captivated
@@Graham_lee Same!
I was the same just this week! I'm binge watching. It's great to fall asleep to and then watch again when you're awake! 😂
im not sure of your background just found your channel today but i have been a chef for 16 years and honestly that pork was cooked to absolute perfection if all your camping food is this good get a camping cook book out asap
My 1st real tent came from Wish. I've since upgraded, but it has never leaked, and I let my friends without tents use it currently. Sometimes you can find a jewel with budget gear.
Mass brands put a bran on wholesale items and sell. You got lucky and found the unbranded gem. Im jealous
Consistency and customer support is all wonky. Though, even if you manage to find a gem. I hear stories all the time about Chinese suppliers who offer great initial products and then flood buyers with defective crap.
Of course, not always the case, but you know. I'm just wary.
@@pcblahhehehe. They flood the world with cheap crap. Thats how they make money. People be lik well i can buy this at china shop cause its cheaper. Than if it breaks ....buy again from china shop cause its cheap. Do i buy some stuff from them? Yes. But im picky. I always try to buy something that at least looks and feels like its gona last more than a year. Im surprised to having bhought a decent knife for bushcraft thats made in china. Ok no handle but its solid and full tang. With red rope wrapped through and around for grip. I did some batoning, carving and cutting with it. If i sharpen it again now, then it will be the 3rd time i sharpen it. Ok i dont use it everyday but for what i did like batoning and carving than after cleaning , being able to cut meat easily. Well its the money worth for me. Just the sheath is material so i want my one friend to see if he can make a sheath for the knife from kydex material.
I agree there massivedynamic
The umbrella joints can fail quickly on one and last for many uses on another.
I've found the less the machining and special fittings the better for brandless budget. It's not very hard to insert hoop poles.
Yours is one of the few camping channels I don’t fast forward through portions of. thanks for taking us with you on these adventures
I agree party
When I clicked on this it was mild curiosity. Sat through all of it, wholesome and so quintessentially British. ♥
I got so hungry watching you cook dinner that I wiped out everything in my refrigerator. Looks like very lush and peaceful forest for camping. Talk to you later, have to go buy more food.
I did a lot of fridge raiding as well while that roast was roasting on the spit😂😋😋
I found your channel after just losing my mum. I've always been an 'outdoorsy' kind of chap, although not to your degree.
Thanks for your output, it's really helping me to live vicariously for the time being and is a welcome distraction.
Isn't it odd that feeling after dealing with the remains, you wake up and it's another day, the world goes on as though nothing has changed, it left me feeling hollow, made me ask myself is that all there is? But we carry on because we can
I don't have anything really important to add here (I'm posting a comment because I believe this helps your channel); but I will say that I am totally enjoying these videos. I almost feel that for a little bit of time I'm camping. I love the rituals, the setup and breakdowns--and the way you manage to create these great meals in on little cooking devices. Love this channel.
Good afternoon Andy - I think your channel should be called gourmet cooking with Andy. I love watching you cook these incredible meals ( as an old lady with no interest in cooking lol) you actually have me trying some of your recipes. I like that you share your opinions about the kind of gear available for camping even if its the cheap option; it gives me something to talk about with my camping mad son in law. Thanks for having a great channel for all of us to follow. Greetings from Australia.
Your son is a brave lad if he is obsessed with camping in Australia lol, I've never been there but from what I know, that would be one scary place to be tent camping, at least in some areas.
This is so wholesome
Perfect comment! Hello to Australia from a Pom!
Such a wholesome comment
You are delusional if you think these meals are gourmet. They are good and well done. Not gourmet. You could cook these.
The only way I could improve on that recipe is if you had a drip pan to catch the fat coming off that pork. U can then roast your potatoes in them, gives it alot of extra flavour
Back woods man, chef, director, cameraman and sound recordist. Serious talents. 👍🙏👏
Beer, meat, and fire you can’t beat that.
I love the drone shot coming down in the fog.
Great video! Take care
My family enjoys tent camping once or twice a year. It's nice to see someone trying out the cheaper products to see how they hold up. Thanks.
oh yeah i am in the us in florida and so hot have been to germany but never to the uk but would love to go! am verry sad bout the gueen passing i loved her have followed everything i could find including her corrination she was a wonderful person who will be missed by more than you know
The cardboard tent is still my favorite of all , I go back and watch it from time to time
Now my husband is going to expect me to cook like this at camp. Your meals look so good! You should be a chef.
I agree ellen😊
I want him to do a cook book!!
Chefs get paid durt and have hugh stress he should not be a chef
Ellen is that you?
It’s not that hard to cook. Just make sure u prepare. And bring everything u need . His cooking is actually basic
Your campsite was a cozy set up! The pork belly was the cause of hyper salivation! Looks so wonderful! Will have to try it myself! Thanks for the video!
Great video! My mum introduced me to your videos a few weeks ago and I'm hooked! Currently off work sick with covid, so this video with a hot chocolate is exactly what I needed to relax!
Wth is covid.....let's not start that...we already lost years from fake news
Get well soon!
My husband can't understand drinking hot tea when it's hot but I love a decent brew on a hot day. I love your videos and you are so down to earth and relatable, it's a pleasure to watch . I especially love when you are showing us different gear, from cheap to expensive - it would be great if you could show us some tech that makes camping simpler - just an idea.
The reason behind drinking hot tea is it brings Ur temperature up passed normal that fools Ur body to adjust so it then cools u down 😊
My dad was in Aden and Egypt during the Suez crisis, and he swore by hot tea, and the Arabs did too. A hot drink will affect your core body temperature, on a cold day it can raise it and on a hot day it can reduce it. And tea can quench a thirst longer as well.
@@michaelhughes7718 thanks for that. I can tell him that. We were talking about that today. I love this guys videos, so relaxing and informative- and the weird beer names....
@@witness4Himyour veins work like plumbing, if they expand and rise closer to the surface then you will lose more body heat.

Agreed . Very very nice .
Andy!
It’s good to see your getting professional help with your addiction to camping.
Your ‘not out of the woods yet!’ But you’ll get there soon! You have our support! Lol!
I did a lot of low budget ultralight backpacking in the early 2000's, and honestly it looks like a better setup than some of torture tarps I've slept it. Still an avid tarp and bivy camper though.
Your videos are hella relaxing. I don’t really even camp and I’m only moderately outdoorsy but I’ve been binge watching all your vids and suddenly wanna chop some wood or saw something 😁. And your cooking…I’m a fan. Tonight I boiled potatoes and then friend them in butter. Never done them like that before but I have to say your method is awesome. Hope you camp the US sometime. Just stay out of bear county with all your delicious cooking. You rock dude. I hope to continue watching you camp for years to come.
😂same❤❤
That little air pump would be awesome for kicking up a fire from coals in the morning or anytime your fire dies down. Maybe a small bit of tubing that would attach to it would be a nice piece of multiuse kit. That little spit is indeed a beutiful thing. I would lave a link to that spit...it is really nice.
Always nice to see a good amount of cheese added to something. A hello from Wisconsin, u.s.a
Cheers to you too, Andy, saluting with my coffee mug. For sure going to try that pork belly herb roll-up. And the tortillas - man can you chef. Andy!... What about the trail cam?
I think that tent was quite cool for the money, long as it don't leak its a winner at that price. I have done this sort of video with all my eBay kit. 😁
I have a similar tent at 25 quid. Works pretty well. Also bought the Poundland tent. I'm not exactly sure about rainy days but keeps the gear pretty organised.
I bought a fire steel from wish, it was shorter and narrower than advertised and completely useless because it was made of aluminium.
It was a fire aluminium.
Someone chopped your water bottle in half lol! Great video.
The only camping item I ever got on Wish was a small takedown stove. The metal walls ARE strong enough to support a large frying pan and it's very simple to put together. It was worth the $3. Dick's Sporting Goods would probably charge $12 for that thing, LOL...
that was genuinely relaxing to watch! i’ve missed camping since i went to uni, i may just have to run away for a weekend
I’ve watched loads of your stuff. I’m no camper, don’t even own a tent, but MAN! I love your channel. Makes me wanna get into this thing. Keep on doing what you’re doing. It ace dude. ❤️
19:39 I really love these shots right around here, bravo with the lighting
I looked for Ben's salt and pepper mix here in the US and found only other brands that looked more finely ground, instead of like flakes. (I thought yours looked like little flakes)
Anyway, another relaxing video. Thanks for keeping your voice so calm throughout. It seems quite a few of us both watch the videos and then use them again for sleep aids. The sound of nature with your calm voice does the trick!
Greatest camping channel on UA-cam
as a texan, it's interesting to see what a brit calls a "breakfast taco" (in a camping setting)! not what I'd ever think of but I'd certainly give them a taste 🤤
I would have added some bacon, as seasoning. 😋

What a brilliant evening, and an incredible morning! Thanks for sharing.
Your stuff was randomly suggested to me by the algo, & I have really enjoyed your camping videos. Feels like chillin' with an old friend.
I only buy cheap earrings on wish, but this video is good to know what to expect when getting camping gear from there. Those stakes/pegs...wow what a joke! I agree with the water bottle, best for milk in the cooler.
The cook on that porcelet looks amazing! I wish I could drink some beers with you! Thanks Andy!
I've used those type tent pegs before. Works great for dense hardpacked dirt, miserable failure in soft dirt or sand. Each style has it's pros and cons. Down here in sandy Florida they'd be useless, but up in the Blue Ridge Mountains they are the only type that'll work in the rocky hardpack! The typical plastic pegs will shatter trying to drive them in.
Love Andy’s videos. He’s really good at what he does and makes putting up tents look so easy. I really enjoy the rain when he’s camping, it’s so relaxing and strangely the wood chopping too. He reminds me of Diags in TOWIE and also Keith from nuts in may. Really like his camera shots and watching him cook too. Totally addictive.
🇬🇧 He's Very Good at chopping wood! It's great to watch him doing something so easily & expertly.
I thought I’m the only one admiring all the sounds from his videos, birds chirping, owls hooting, bugs buzzing, firewoods crackling and most especially the wood chopping😆Now we need to hear him snore😄just kidding
I love that you go backpacking with a full size frame saw
It is 1am, i should be sleeping just finishing your video and you make something that looks like the most delicious food I have ever seen.. trying to decide if I should finish the video or start making food!
This was so relaxing to watch. Watching you cook a meal is always the highlight for me.
I really enjoy your cooking methods I'm not a camper but dying to try a campfire meal
Well done, Andy. The porchetta looked amazing. The beans? Meh. ;). ATB. Jimmie from USA.
Another american announcing that they're a septic nobody cares
I'm glad I found this video through sidebar suggestions. The vibes are so chill and pleasant.
I love the gas lantern. You guys who camp 1/2 miles from the trailhead always have cool rustic gear haha.
If you are worried if it’s waterproof you could always use a tarpaulin over it. One of our local NZ UA-camrs, AB Camping, uses one most of the time.
Yes tarps are always good diane
Wonderful filming Andy Thank you 🎉spent 7 months tent last year
Thanks Andy for sharing a fantastic video and taking us with like the tent cheers for this great wendnesday video
Hello Andy, tent look good for the price, you made it through the night no rain, the food looked delicious as always, thanks for sharing stay safe
Here in New Zealand I have just bought that tiny stove and put it together 20 minutes ago to see how it fits. Kindling size wood I was guessing is all that would be needed.
I enjoy watching you videos. Thank you!
I am 76 years old, and started camping long long before wish. Way back when, we used to make perfectly adequate little wood stoves with number 10 cans and a punch type can opener. Back in the hippie times, most everyone worked in a restaurant at some point so you always had plenty of number 10 cans!😊

@@Mandaxx25 hi 👋 no way like watching the video but hotel for me 😃
Love the atmospheric shots of the woodland
All the trees in my area are stripped of branches because everyone tries to be a bushcrafter
If you need to hang things, and you have trees around, use a friggin guyline. Not only is it light, it is reusable, and much more durable. Please practice LNT.
I haven't been camping in a long time, 45 years. I would always choose & used Fallen logs or dead branches. Fire up Quicker & Hotter fire, Green Wood Does Last Longer though !
I’d love to see a temu challenge as the quality of the stuff I have gotten (non camping related) has been generally been good
Temu have a similar tent at less than half the price of Wish, plus free shipping.
Awesome as always Andy. I have always been afraid to order from wish, I was sure it was going to be junk because of the price of the items 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😅 😊
But now since you were able to get your order no problem and it wasn't even junk, you could actually use what you got. Not sure how many times you'll be able to use it but its pretty cool. That's for sure.

Holy moly never seen so many pill bugs...or cheesy bugs I'll have to start saying that one more! Luckily, they're harmless. Growin up in Texas we called them armadillo bugs, roly-poly's or doodlebugs.

Awesome cooking and campout Andy. 👍 I usually like folding stoves but folding tents not so much because they can easily break. 🤭
I love watching your videos. You are quite a good cook as well! I always learn from watching your videos. Great job!

It's so funny seeing a Kentish bloke with a highly subscribed, good quality channel. You manage to bring across the tranquillity of camping wonderfully with your occasional quiet shots.
Btw I grew up near Westerham and I believe the "ham" is a short one like Tottenham or Dagenham.
When I first saw your bergen I got all excited as it looked like the first one I bought many years ago (1989). On closer inspection it looks like a updated version with molle strips. It saw me through many years of my army career and I still use the same green bergen today. I've only had to replace on of the buckles which got crushed when not paying attention and I closed my car boot lid on it.
That porchetta looks sensational Andy !!!!!
So tempted to go camping this weekend whilst it's warm. Would be perfect for woodland camping.
Do it! :-) I'm prepping my gear for it - hoping now the kids are back in school it'll be quieter out there.
Watching for several years now….another great video from our favorite handsome blue eyed swashbuckling camper! Great camp!
Hello! Thank you for cooking inspiration! Me and my partner are currently cooking a big piece of pork belly based on your video!
well make sure you learn how to make crackling rather than the solid rubber envelope he had on his rind.
Those inflatable sleeping pads are great! If you get it right, theyre much better for the same price as a foam roll
Excellent relaxing video this week Andy proof that you don’t always need the most expensive equipment to enjoy a nice camp although i would definitely need the upgrade from the wish mat HAHAHAHAHa porchetta looked mouthwatering delicious
Wow Andy over 500K, hell yesterday it seemed we were at 500. 😂 cheers, glad to see the channel growing again.

Ooh mate, those cheesy bean tacos look amazing - i'm definitely stealing that one! Also thank you again for testing out the internet gear we all secretly want to ourselves but are too suspicious to buy 🤣
Wish camping...when you’re sitting around the fire and WISH you were somewhere else😂🇺🇸
Or Wish you had better gear 😂
My go to camping channel, I always look forward for your post Andy 👍
A pretty honest review of online available camping gear that won't cost an arm and a leg. It survived it's first use so it will be quite usable for some more camping trips, now that you know it's limitations.
Thoroughly enjoyable video! Thanks!
That tent almost went up by itself. The pegs notwithstanding, it seems pretty good, especially for the money.
People hating on wish because it's chinese. But when you buy a tent at expensive places you also see: Made in china, thailand or taiwan. People just pay 10 times more the price to have that trusty feeling over chinese products.
That pork looked delicious,😍
Great video Andy! Thanks for sharing and taking us along!!! vr, S
Your camping videos are so informative and calming to watch. 😊
I keep cheap gear in my car just in case you ever need it, I also live in England so the chances of needing them are pretty slim lol

@beatlesboy95 cool I live in a forest in east texas in the US. It's been legal to open carry a long gun all my life, lately its become legal to open carry a side arm, the problem with law enforcement is they are sometimes there after a crime but rarely when you are being assaulted, I lost my daughter to gang violence called the cops three times for help 4 days later they showed up. A big city on the gulf coast. I don't hide because there are bad people. I prepare for them.

Thanks Andy for the video. First class as always. Nobody can see the preparation that goes into your camps. Just like me when I was a scout leader. We only see the result at the end. Brilliant video thanks for sharing.
Any cheap tent these days is better than what we used as kids in the 70-80s. And they weigh nothing these days.
Tell me more about these days
You guys are why we can camp in comfort 😇🏕
Bugs and stuff are why I am not enamored of camping, however, I love living vicariously through you. Your videos are so calming and wonderful. Thank you.
Thanks for the video Andy! This location is one of the most beautiful I have seen on UA-cam!
Using Wish in general is a mistake 😂 the overall range and quality of stuff they had on offer dropped off dramatically about 4-5 years ago.
Best tent I've ever had cost me £20 new from a bargain shop. It sleeps 4 comfortably, has 2 inner sleeping pods with bug nets and groundsheets, but doesn't have an overall integral groundsheet, so I use a small tarp for the middle section. It's perfect short trips.
I have been binging on your videos for the past weeks and am loving all of them. I would love to camp again but not sure if i can alone. Your video's have given me so many ideas. 😊 Just listening to your experience's and explanations is awesome. Your cooking is amazing.
Thanks Andy for another adventure !
I'll be honest my similar sized Coleman tent was half the price on Amazon. I know Coleman isn't the cream of the crop but at least it's a reliable option. Interesting video nonetheless.
If you make a slip knot it is much easier to truss you cuts of meat. Tie a loop on one end. Place your item on top of the butcher's twine. Thread the tag end through the loop and pull to desired tension. Then just pass the tag end under the string 2 or 3 times to lock it down on itself. I usually just do one long piece and work my way down the cut of meat. Works especially well for pork loins as well as pork and beef tenderloin. Cheers my friend.
You should make a Demo YT on Trussing & Butchering meat ...!
Loved the enthusiasm throughout this video
In America, when we camp, we have to worry about bears and big cat predators. Are there anything in your wood you watch out for?
prob just your partners wood for a woman.
Not animals in the UK England, but sometimes idiots that want to disturb you or try and creep you out making noises or walking close outside the tent at night etc. If you're a guy it's safer
you do here in uk..they are stalkers and pyscopaths
probably in uk most dangerous predator hornets or vasp lol
