Hi it was lovely to meet you both too (plus Monty) even though you might cost us a fortune 😂😂 Roxy loved the beach (once all the motorbikes had gone) and wasn’t it a beautiful weekend ☀️💕 We hope you guys got home safe & sound and look forward to seeing you on the road soon xx Rachel, David & Roxy x 💕
We go to South Shields on New Year’s Eve for a walk, nobody around, one or two refreshment places open. No crowds. Next time try Colmans Sea Food Temple along the coast towards Sunderland, great food and outstanding views.
We love the beach at South Shields, we go a couple of times a month and have fish and chips from Colman’s. If you think South Shields beach was busy you should have seen Seaburn beach today, it was packed. We were on a Cockapoo walk and there was also a Dash-hound walk, it was chaos 🤣🤣. I’ve been visiting South Shields all my life and I can never recall visiting the fairground! Probably too expensive when I was a child then no interest as an adult. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.
@@LeisureBit ours is Wells-next -the-Sea in Norfolk and Camber Sands in East Sussex. We also loved Poppit Sand in Cadogan Wales. We love our campervan 😁.
Hi David and Rachel a great video as ever that beach looks stunning and the town as well bet you can’t move high season but what a sunset as well I bet Roxy loved every minute! My boys would love the arcades and amusements and Victoria and I would enjoy watching them cannot beat a fish supper by the sea! Must try and visit one day when up that way My old science teacher came from South Shields and the deputy head from North Shields so there was always a rivalry at school lol 😂 as for us we struggled with the accents and they did with us!! All the best to you both Daniel
It was very busy even in Feb! 😂😂😂😂 I’m chuckling about the accents! 😂😂😂😂 my sister got married down ‘sarf’ and I couldn’t even order a drink as they couldn’t understand me 😂😂😂 let me know if you need the subtitles on 😂 Rachel & David
Amazing vlog guys and the scenery is breathtaking. I'm with you in terms of amusement arcades/fun fairs!! Hell on Earth 😂. Stay safe. Sid and Nicola, Rugby
😂😂 I hadn’t realised I had been so blunt 😂😂 but there is beautiful scenery and landscape and then these awful lights and music and noise - and cars with no exhausts and motorbikes 🏍️ I think I’m getting old 😂😂
Looked like a lovely site. As always a very informative vlog. So lucky with the weather. Beautiful beach and stunning scenery. At least dogs can go on the beach in the evening. I loved fairs as a child. Not so much now 🤣 platform 33 looked great! Roxy loved her run on the beach. Looked gorgeous first thing. Don’t tell Graham about the fish and chips 😉take care both 😊👍
Thank you - was nice for a change and the beach was so lovely on Sunday morning seeing the sun rise (you guys will be used to that in much more remote places on your trip) but was nice for a last minute quick getaway. Roxy really did love her run on the beach. Have a lovely rest of the week - all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Great video Guys , the Platform 33 car park is OK to stop over for vans for just a few pounds , look forward to seeing more of your travels - Steve & Mandy
Thanks Steve & Mandy, good value and it looked fairly flat too. Platform 33 didn’t look open when we were there but we assumed it might open later in the season (I think the car park may have been separately owned so don’t think that has any impact on the car park stop over). Thanks again, was a nice change for a February weekend going to Shields. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you for the great choice of music, Chris Rea, and beautiful drone shots. I think we made the right decision when we visited this county as we went to Old Hartley last September. We have been trying to stay in every County in England, we have 2 left to do which are booked in for June. We are also trying to do Wales and Scotland. It has taken us 7 years so far. If you want to see any of our adventures with my thoughts to the sites they are on Instagram. Take care Gill
Thank you Gill. The drone shots were beautiful weren’t they - that’s because the sun finally made an appearance! ☀️ We love Old Hartley - it’s shut at the moment for a refurb What an epic challenge you are doing - we follow you and your adventures on Insta 💕💕 Rachel & David 💕
Nice tour around David and Rachel i bet its busy high season looks a fun place to visit .. oh and your never to old for a pedalo 😃 never been upto there so enjoyed watching 👌 Glyn
Thanks Glyn, yes imagine it's packed in high season. Loved the beach on the morning, if it was earlier in the day and they weren't about to close I would have had a go on the pedalo :) All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Well guys you excelled with that vlog and thank you for your efforts 👏😌. Introduced us to an area we've never considered. Rachel's "my idea of hell" regarding the amusements produced an audible lol !! 😂. Appropriate use of Chris Rea track was genius! Thanks yet again for the effort you both put in to these vlogs. Regards, Mo ❤😊👍
Thanks Mo, really appreciate the comment and feedback it means a lot. The North East has some beautiful beaches and places to visit all the way up the coast line and worth checking out if you’re in the area. Pleased you enjoyed it and thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you, another great vlog 👏 I was hoping you’d take the route down the coast returning via Whitburn, onto Seaburn and Roker (Sunderland is my birth town)..l that coast road is lovely. But you went for breakfast 😅 instead, understandable. Agree with the amount of rainwater.. we’ve said the same 🙄 … anyway.. having watched a lot of vlogs, we always like yours, well done Joanne and Paul and Bob the cat 🐈…ps we haven’t done near the amount of travels as you both yet … but we always enjoy Skelwith Fold… more out ‘in the sticks’ but that’s our favourite so far.
Thank you Joanne, Paul and Bob the cat 🐈 for your kind comments. 💕 It is a beautiful route isn’t it! Breakfast called this time though! We did say we need to go back & do Marsden etc - I love the North East coast & beaches - so underrated x I am sick to death of this rain ☔️ enough now! Rachel & David 💕
Thank you Clive! The beaches are just amazing on the north east coast - you would struggle to find better! I loved it early morning when quiet so Rox and I could play ball 🥎 I go to the Gare a lot and there are always people swimming 🏊 brrrrrrrrrr Rachel & David 💕
Thank you - hope you’re doing good. I wonder if he was referring to the Gare in his song if he headed east out of Middlesbrough?😀 All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Was at that sight in October thought same as you about it had a great beach though, the main road you walked downs called curry mile with all its restaurants, we also got metro into Newcastle from there, and also where was a restaurant in a cave further up the beach forgot its name now. it was a bit different, would not like to be there in summer
Thank you. You're right I think in the middle of summer it would be very busy. Was it Marsden Grotto you were thinking of in the cave? All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
You got this video out quick 🙂 Looked a fantastic beach although i really don't like this dogs are not allowed on between March and September etc, boils my blood, especially when you see all the litter scattered about on some beaches during the summer months !! Fish and chips looked very nice, seemed a bit expensive tbh but think everyhing is over priced these days anyway 🙂 great informative vlog as ever, cheers, Trev Debz and Tyler x x
Hi guys I get the dogs bit on the beach as it was so busy even in Feb but I prefer quieter beaches. although it was lovely first thing in the morning and we had loads of play / ball time Fish n chips were epic! Cost wise - yet again paying for the location and short trot to the beach but agreed re price all round now 😫 Glad you enjoyed the black horse and red lion - great places! 💕 Rachel & David
Hi. It was a pleasure to meet you guys. Good vlog. Lovely beach and we were lucky with the weather. Safe travels.

I live in Cullercoats next to Tynemouth. Its a lovely place to visit and there is a club site just outside Whitley Bay. Great review 👍
It's a lovely costline. Is that the Old Hartley one, it's one of our olde favourites that one. Thank you - all the very best, David & Rachel 👍

my wife comes from Whitley Bay - many of the beaches in Northumberland are spectacular,..... albeit the north sea is almost permanently freezing 🥶
Thank you Clive! The beaches are just amazing on the north east coast - you would struggle to find better! I loved it early morning when quiet so Rox and I could play ball 🥎
I go to the Gare a lot and there are always people swimming 🏊 brrrrrrrrrr

great video and good music ..Chris Rea also born in the North East...Middlesbrough in fact ..
Thank you - hope you’re doing good.
I wonder if he was referring to the Gare in his song if he headed east out of Middlesbrough?😀
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
@LeisureBit I am sure he is referring to Redcar beach...
You might be right ...

If everybody kept their dogs under control and picked up after them then I’m sure it would be different, but they don’t.
Very true 👍
