Scarborough has certainly had a makeover in terms of what is now regarded as 'tourist' attractions. The castle on the hill was never open during the 1980s yet now is a 'must visit' attraction. Making more of the history was the 'gun' in the harbour a relic from the First World War and although not mentioned the German naval attack in December 1914. This was regarded as a 'dasterdly' attack as civililans including children were killed. But it only served to boost recruitment at a time when Britain still didn't have a conscript army.
This was a fun filled adventure until you fell Rob. I hope you are doing well after that fall. At our age we have to be careful any injuries could have a devastating impact. I really enjoyed this adventure you filmed it very well. From the beautiful beaches to the marina was just incredible. The buildings are amazing, and the architecture was very well put together. Most of all I enjoyed you and Colette walking in and out of different places. Poppy is such a beautiful girl you can tell she wants to be with you. Very loving poppy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

It’s a funicular counterbalance tramway up the cliff, so there is always one travelling in the opposite direction. Made me laugh at your surprise there was one travelling down 😂

Pretty much imobile now, I get around by mobility scooter or wheelchair these days. Similarly, I haven't ridden the funicular railway for years. The one nearest to the foreshore was closed down some years ago - according to the council at the time it was not earning its keep. Wow! 45 quid a day to rent an empty shed? No way Pedro! That sort wedge can buy a fair lot of food and drink on the foreshore! I have to confess it's been about sixty years since I last visited the castle, I would have been about six years old, and it was with the whole family on a day out.😇 I'm planning on going to the Honda Wing Ding in September - Haven't seen that since before covid. Those decorated Gold Wings, bedecked in coloured lights are a sight to see, like miniature Blackpool trams. It's a charity event in aid of the Heli-Med Air Ambulance, and well worth a look. It's free, but you can donate al you want and buy gifts and souvenirs. What a shame about "The Futurist" theatre, another great Victorian building - Gone, but not forgotten.

Nice views as the council spent thousands on the south cliffs esplanade , near the hotels of course , ,, town centre is mostly boarded up with litter and drunks , not to for get the drugs …shame really it used to be a nice town but sadly not any more ….2 lovely bays though and nice countryside when you get away from the town ….please don’t go to the bottom end of town at night , reasons I will keep to myself …
I love scarbrough a couple of gears sho j stayed at the esplanade hotel its a beautiful hotel but they need a decent chef the food was horrible I love scarbrough I've stayed at both ends the castle end and the other side . The grand looks a lovely hotel but I've seen videos of the inside it's a shame a beautiful building has gone to ruin but every Brittaniani hotel is falling to bits I live in st helens and Liverpool isn't far on the train the adelphi hotel is owned by the same firm at one time if anyone stayed at the adelphi hotel they were well off you sang about molly malone it's cockles and mussels and molly malone love fran xxx
It looks good from the outside and on the surface but ive lived here for 30 years and there is less and less for young residents to do, its all for tourism. The crime rate is rising and so are the prices. A councilor here, chris, decided that 60+ people should end up on the street by blocking a charity from acquiring buildings to help the homeless and disabled, luckily some people at the council went over his head and got approval that way. Also kids and teenagers are now recking and vandalising the town because police no longer do their jobs. There is alot about this town that the council hides. This is a nice video of the town but i think the truth is damning.

People are moving to Scarborough and then moving away again due to it been NOT a very nice place to live , sorry to say but they aren’t wrong . Only some areas not all . Seamer road will be carnage in the next few weeks as the gas board are and will be digging more holes and slowing down traffic as usual , AVOID SEAMER ROAD INTO SCARBOROUGH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS …..
What struck me most was there was no graffiti anywhere… not even in that pavilion. Why do you think that is? Anywhere I’ve seen around U.K. always suffers from graffiti all over the place. It’s great to see there’s none here.

What struck me most was there was no graffiti anywhere… not even in that pavilion. Why do you think that is? Anywhere I’ve seen around U.K. always suffers from graffiti all over the place. It’s great to see there’s none here.
