Hi both really great vlog , I to don’t want dramatic content just great info and inspiring, looking forward to seeing Rachel’s choice of site x
Thank you for watching & commenting 💗💗 We get really 😡 when we see drama for drama sake - there is no need. If you are authentic, genuine and stay true to your principles then that should be enough! We need to get them booked up 🙌 Rachel & David 💗
Superb video both! We have just completed our first year of motor homing and now we have the new van, we are making our plans for the year. 2 main trips, one to Dumfries and Galloway in May and one to the highlands in September. Of those 2, we are only stopping at one place we have stopped before! We are really looking forward to it :). As newbies, finding new sites is easy of course and helps us to build up our library of memories. It also helps that we are both retired ;). looking forward to your next video. Back to the planning then :) Ian
Thank you Ian 💗💗 Dumfries & Galloway is a beautiful part of the world and very under played but some epic spots. Kippford is a must to visit - so quaint with amazing shell decorations in front of houses 💗💗 Equally the Highlands are stunning too! We look forward to watching your adventures as your journey continues! It does get harder as you go on to find new hidden gems to explore but there are loads of sites if you dig deep! Rachel & David 💗
@@LeisureBit Thanks for the heads up on Kippford. I had not heard of that :)
Interesting vlog regarding your last 3 yrs of travelling. Regarding sites we tend to avoid them as they are generally overpriced especially down here in the south east. We stay in places around 1 hrs distance away and mostly farmers fields off grid around £10 _15 per night. We travel to Europe in the van which is so much cheaper than UK. As you our cv40 has had no problems at all looking forward to year ahead.
Thank you for watching and commenting fellow CV’er! We like to do a mix and happy to do rallies or CLs but equally we like pushing the boat too since we work hard all week at work 😂😂 So glad you have been trouble free too! We are off to France next year which we are looking forward too Rachel & David 💗
Hi, we came back to caravaning 2yrs ago after 13 years . In the 2yrs there is only one we won't go back to as the facilities were dirty. The very best we have been to twice is Greenacres Carlisle, We like the CAMC sites . On average we have paid £34 per night. We are now booked up from March to October. Happy times 🌞🍷🍺
Thank you for watching & commenting! There is one I wouldn’t go back to (Rachel) it was just blah and not cheap blah so for that reason I wouldn’t. David didn’t mind it. Greenacres is a beautiful site with exceptional facilities. Roxy liked the woodland walk there. These vehicles aren’t cheap, our time off is precious so like you don’t mind paying for the comfort of the facilities 💗 Rachel & David 💗
This is an excellent blog, very informative. Happy New Year to you both!
Happy new year to you too! Thank you for watching & commenting 💗 It was a good experience to reflect! I’m glad you found it useful Rachel & David 💗
Fabulous video;thank you. We bought a cv20 last year after watching your channel and we love it. Could you please tell me what table you are using (the one behind you) as we find the supplied table a little wide at the bottom of the legs. Looke forward to ‘travelling ‘ with you in 2025. ❤
Thank you for watching, commenting and enjoying your CV! Ohhhhh the table is epic! Roxy can tuck underneath and it doesn’t take up floor space. A link below to the video. 100% recommend ua-cam.com/video/c5CgVdUS-7Y/v-deo.htmlsi=QwOowxIbfvcnTlcw
Hope your both well. Because I'm an old curmudgeon, I refuse to pay the exorbitant site fees in the UK, instead using CCC D.A's and free park ups. Our recent 6 week trip to Spain cost 75 Euro in fees and we stayed in some amazing places for free. Glad the van has behaved well, doesn't seem 5 minutes since David had the table of doom😂😂 in the garden. Cheers K.
😂😂😂 the table of doom 😂😂😂 I think 90% of the car boot items are still festering in the garage 😂😂 We do DA’s etc when we see something we like but happy to pay for sites that we want to visit. Glad you had a good trip to Spain and love the word curmudgeon 😂😂 Rachel & David 💗
Hello. Yes where has three years gone too. Glad you have enjoyed your travels. We have got a few places earmarked for this year in our Sainsbury van conversion around East Anglia. Pity they don't do a few more mpg, 30 is ok but can be costly if you go a long way. Would you consider van electric one. Do u have an electric car. Personally we have a VW tcross and the sprinter. And my caddyvan for work. Am used to 50 to 60 mpg in them. What car do u drive. Hope you are keeping well. Best wishes to you both, and Roxy. David and Beverley Norfolk
Thanks or the comment David & Beverley and good to hear from you. It’s a really great question too! Yes, I have an electric car since last year - A Mercedes EQA, prior to that I have had a couple of hybrids, and you could see the technology moving along with each one. I have looked at electric vans, and will cover in more detail in the next few videos. 50-60mpg would be lovely! All the very best, David, Rachel & Roxy 👍
. @@LeisureBitI've never seen one of those on the road but they do look nice slightly larger than our tcross, yes looks interesting and worth considering. Thank you. Nice chatting to you. Have a good week. Best wishes David and Beverley Norfolk
Happy 3 year anniversary. Have a try of Skelwith Fold Caravan Park. There's some cracking deals there from time to time, and it is one of the best UK sites that I've stayed on.
Hi David and Rachel happy 3 year vannerversary!! It’s been amazing following your journey from the start of leisurebit and awaiting the van and all the prep to taking us along on all the lovely tours you have had and the memories you have made with it Looking forward to what 2025 has in store and enjoy being part of the leisurebit family best wishes to you all Daniel
Ahhhh thank you Daniel! What a 3 years! What a journey and how David’s table of rubbish is still lingering in the depths of the garage 😂😂 Thank you for coming on the journey with us - we really appreciate it 💗💗 Rachel & David 💗
Superb video David and Rachel, really interesting , especially the costing, I scrolled through your video list after and noticed you very rarely venture very far South or abroad, ,obviously because you have such stunning scenery up Norf. All the best for your 25 travels
Morning thank you for watching & commenting 💗 I think where we go is more situational due to holidays from work etc. We are going to France next year as we got married there and it’s our 20th wedding anniversary. We do love the north east, dales, Lake District & Scotland mind 💗💗💗 Rachel & David
Completely agree about LiFePO4 batteries. I built my own 230ah battery and system and it’s been great. I’ll have to have another look at the blind spot detector system too
It’s a game changer isn’t it in terms of flexibility and practicality. I have found the blind spot detection really handy - appreciate new vans tend to come with it but for under £200, certainly the best safety addition. All the very best, David 👍
Hi both, really useful video, thanks! Are you able to let us know which coffee machine you have?
It’s just a Dolce Gusto DeLongi Genio S - not a fortune and makes a nice coffee and handy for on demand hot water for other drinks too. Certainly to my taste. All the best, David 👍
What a fab list of sites. I'll make some notes! We're in Scotland in April too. Where are you off to? We'd love to bump into you! N&Nx
Starting at Easter in Edinburgh and then heading a little way up the east coast then on to Cairngorms, over to the west following that and Loch Ness area then down to Bute and Dumfries and Galloway and finishing in Cumbria just before the first May bank holiday 😀 hope to catch you in the road somewhere soon - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
@LeisureBit oooh a lovely trip! We met in Edinburgh so have many happy memories of there. Check out Cramond Island! N&Nx
Why hunt for a new van if this is so ideal? ( genuine question).
It’s a really great question and one I have asked myself a number of times. The CV20 layout is great and works really well - there are some things I would like to improve but mainly tweaks - I will cover this exact question in more detail soon. The main driver, pardon the pun is to get a new base vehicle with all the options and features I would like on it. The one I have is dated now and lacks a lot of the latest safety features and fuel efficiency. Hope that makes sense and will cover in more detail in the next couple of weeks - thanks for the question - all the very best, David 👍
Great video on looking back it’s amazing how everything adds up. I was watching Rachel when you were adding all the items and can see her eyes rolling saying “how much” 😂 I’m sure she wasn’t really but it does make you think.
😂😂 oh you were right my eyes were rolling and still are 😂😂 half that stuff never even made it from the garage into the van. In fact it’s still lurking in there somewhere! 😂😂 Rachel & not David as he is on the t’internet shopping 😂😂😂
Really enjoyed that review. We’ve just got back from the Edinburgh CAMC site and would be my choice for best nearest a city. We also had the best day out on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Might be worth a stop off when you go to Scotland. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill we have booked the Edinburgh site as part of our Easter trip as it happens. So if you give it the thumbs up that’s good to us! We fancied the Britannia and also the Globe! Thank you as ever Rachel & David 💗💗
@ I’ve not heard of the Globe so that would be interesting to see. You can’t take dogs on to the Britannia but I found a doggy day care centre near to it. I know they only take small dogs but she did mention a place nearby that takes larger dogs. Hope this helps.
Hiya David and Rachael. Where have them 3 yrs gone. Yes we've watched you're vlogs from the amble and warkworth one. Tonight's was a very interesting vlog especially explaining all the cost of thing's especially the adblu rip off. Looking forward to the 2025 journeys. From you're cumbrian Marra's have safe journeys. Malcolm and Sheila from Workington.
Hi Malcolm & Sheila can you believe it 3 years?!!! And what a small world that you know my dad! He is doing great - treatment finished so scan next! Then he needs to get back out with his tomatoes 🍅! Not a cheap hobby but an enjoyable one! Rachel & David
Great video, we are new to campervan travels and we got our van in October and been out 4 times now , always looking for ideas so your video has been useful , we have planned a trip to Scotland in may , starting from the bottom of loch Lomand and up to Ben Nevis , can’t wait as this is our first trip to Scotland, we are always in the dales and that’s as far north as we’ve been . So now we are going to look into your favourite sites . Phil
Thank you for watching & commenting Phil. There are some epic places in the Dales, I think we have a playlist of them! It’s one of our go to places - not too far but you can be in another world. The scenery is 🙌 Loch Lomand was beautiful and peaceful! We might meet you on our Scotland trip! Rachel & David 💗💗
Great review guys, we really enjoy looking back on where we have visited as well. Agree a bit of planning goes a long way to ensuring a great time.
Thank you for watching & commenting x Time is very precious and we want to make amazing memories and enjoy our time off! It’s a great experience to look back - there were sites I had forgotten about! Loved making this video Rachel & David 💗
Hi guys 👋. What an awesome review vlog! Am looking forwards to following your 2025 adventures. Regards, Mo 😊👍.
Thanks Mo! We are mega excited about this year! We have some great sites in plan and excited about this year! 🙌 Rachel & David 💗
Great video
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 💗 It was great to look back and remember happy times! Rachel & David 💗
Great video to help with the planning for the years trips. We plan on doing our first pub stop in 2025 in north west england. Do you have any tips on how to find a safe stop?
Thank you for watching and commenting! Ohhhh we love a good pub stop over. Don’t get me wrong we were worried on our first one but with research they can be a great choice. Research is the key plus what’s important to you. We like a big car park (we are rubbish at noise & late nights) Do you want access to a toilet? Read others recommends and feedback and look at the reviews on line. We also check out Google maps to see the surrounding neighbourhood Being dog friendly is also important to us. Good luck - let us know how you get on x Rachel & David 💗
Thanks for the advice and giving us confidence to get out there. Will keep you posted!
Excellent vlog, thoroughly enjoyed it. I have picked a couple of sites based on your reviews for this year, Chainbridge and Hawes
Thank you Malcolm your support and feedback means the world to us x Chain bridge epic and the facilities top notch. Hawes don’t eat for going to the cheese factory - eat your way round the samples! 😂😂. Truly lovely site! Rachel & David 💗💗
I love Hawes. It's one of my favourite areas in the country.
Such an interesting video. With lots of interesting information. Love your hair Rachel 😘😘xx
Ahhhh Karen thank you 🤩 I have gone dark & straight again! 😂 I loved looking back over 3 years of fun! Rachel & David 💗
Brilliant vlog and so very useful - thank you for the hard work that goes into producing them. It will be one I watch again and again to help with future trips! As for being lucky - I think you make your own luck and your planning has certainly helped! Safe travels and keep up the brilliant work! 😊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 💗💗 Time is too precious and we need to ensure we have happy memories so planning is key. There are certain criteria when we decide where to go. Roxy is centre to that! 🥰 We do hope it helps you with planning & you enjoy your adventures as much as we have xx Rachel & David 💗💗
Very interesting guys 👍 its er quite expensive you could have some nice all inclusive holidays for that lol , were the same though as have a caravan and campervan hoping to get out more now the VWs finished, have a great 2025 👍👍 always remember the Christmas lunch you cooked in the van .. best wishes Glyn
The Christmas lunch 🥗 I remember it well! It isn’t a cheap hobby for sure but we have great memories and made wonderful friends all the way! Thank you so much and we might get to meet when you are out in the VW Rachel & David
A great review of the 3 years of CV ownership, certainly brings back a few memories - especially the early vlogs - remember the table of stuff before the van arrived and so true of what you actually need as opposed to what you think you need. Some great sites over the years and Hawes is one of my favourites. Seeing what the future has in stall for you guys will be interesting to say the least - I know our journey to the new van was a great experience. Look forward to the next one and also catching up again at some point 👍. All the best
Thanks Tim, its really interesting to look back and it brought back so many memories, you forget some of the great places and things , coming up with a top list is so tough as soon as you have picked one you think of another. Was really impressed with Hawes, should have gone there sooner, be nice to check it out in the warmer weather next time, not that we had bad weather for December though. All the very best, and thanks again for coming on the journey with us, David & Rachel ❤️
... pressed too soon, hope to catch you at come point in the year too :)
Exactly 5 miles from out house, so a place I know well but never been inside the church before, which did look nice. Been a while since I was in the George and Dragon and both pubs always had a good rep for food, so I would have saved the pot noodle. Never been in (what used to be called Burtree Caravans), for food before but that breakfast looked top notch, cheers Alan
We used to live in School Aycliffe, not too far away, used to like the Cumby Arms when that was open also - You're right I should have gone to one of the pubs for tea, with. the change of plans with Rachel, I had decided not to go back out but in hind sight, it would have been a good idea, especially if the food is like it used to be! The breakfast was great, well worth checking out. Thanks for the comment and all the very best, David & Rachel 👍
does the power button turn off the voltage reading too?
On the model I have it just has the lighting rather than the volt meter but believe it does with those ones. The lights and the USB's switch off with it If that helps? All the best, David 👍
Great idea cheers
Thank you for watching & commenting. Hope it works for you! Rachel & David 💗
We go here every two weeks or so,it really is set in beautiful surroundings. But do remember it is a LOCH NOT a lake 😂 glad you enjoyed your trip Scotland, great video 😊
Thank you for watching and commenting 💗 Oh wow! You are so lucky getting to go there so often! It is truly so beautiful and tranquil! That was me (Rachel) that kept saying lake I think 😂 us north east people - can’t take us anywhere! 😂 Thank you x Rachel & David 💗
Brilliant! We need some sites for September to go with Milarrochy Bay, I can see this being one of them. Right, back to the playlist :). Ian
Gosh you are getting through them Ian. The Falkirk wheel and Kelpies are epic! Both so interesting and close together. You can stay over night at both for a small fee too Rachel & David
@@LeisureBit I am enjoying you videos and I love that you try sites outside the normal booking processes :)
Great look round. You were close to one of my favourite bars in the country there, trembling Madness. The bar is above the off licence and their Madness Burger is one of the best I have ever had. I have not done Jorvik as yet but the railway museum was my target. So much to see and do! Ian
Ohhhh Madness bar and burger sounds worth looking up. We have been to the railway museum years ago but it’s back on our list for another look, so we may have to dig out the Madness bar.
@@LeisureBit I know you are a man who enjoys his burgers, so you would appreciate it. The Trembling Madness bar around the shambles is awesome and has a great atmosphere. Not overly expensive either :)
We were at York, Rowntree late last year. York is a fabulous city, really vibrant and something to see around every corner! Off to watch part 2 now. Ian
Not the prettiest of sites but great location!
Great commentary there David. Love the story about the lighthouse keeper :). A few nice drone shots too :). Ian
Thank you Ian. We do like a drone sequence as it gives you more context to the area. Are you enjoying yours?
@@LeisureBit I have not had a chance to play with it too much as yet. I have the DJI Neo and I am looking forward to exploring its use. I need to make sure I don't overuse it of course but ti should be good when walking or cycling on my eBike :)
There isn't anything gothic about any of this?. More like a Halloween dress up. Most people were 60 and over
Morning thank you for watching and commenting. It is still a great, fun event which attracts a lot of visitors therefore revenue into the local community. Everybody has a really great weekend. Rachel
Oh my, that took me back. I was last on Mull in 2006! Mull was the only time I have ever seen a Golden Eagle and the night sky's are unbelievable! I haven't heard anyone mention K6 in years :). That reminds me of when I used to maintain A/B boxes in the 70's here in Morecambe! I need to go back. You need to get down to Bunessan, Fionnphort and across to Iona. Ian
Thank you Ian. We loved Mull, unfortunately we didn’t plan enough time there this time! It’s so beautiful and the sunsets / rises are incredible! K6 would be a David type thing 😂😂 Thank you for yet more recommends Rachel & David
Just found your channel - we will take a peek tonight! 💗
Happy new year David Rachel and Roxy I bet it was great to get away in the van looks like you’ve had a great time and good weather as well! I’ve had some interesting sat nav journeys as well best of which was near Pitlochry where I needed up going through a game estate on unmade roads and was looking out for game keeper 😂😂 looks a lovely location and very peaceful but just the thing for a break away all the best to you all Daniel
Happy new year Daniel I’m glad it’s not just our Sat nav- it takes the mick out of us! In fact I now also put the destination on my phone just in case! Technology! Rachel & David
We were in Luss in September last year and the weather was unbelievable. The loch was like a millpond! We also stayed at Milarrochy Bay across near Balmaha, which we preferred and are booked in again for this September but it is a lovely site. We didn't have enough time to explore Luss village but maybe next time. Thanks for the video. Ian
Thank you for watching and commenting Ian 💗 it’s such a beautiful area isn’t it! Ohhh we must take a look at Milarrochy bay! Thanks for the recommend! Rachel & David 💗
@@LeisureBit Take a look at my review ;)
Another one to add. I think we may have to explore the north east next year. This year is a bit full currently ;) Ian
Yellowcraig is beautiful for a beach destination! 2025 full already!? Me oh my - we need to get planning! Rachel & David
@@LeisureBit Not fullas yet but working on it :). Ian
Definitely another one on our list. I have never seen such lovely facilities! Love the village pub too, well done to the community! Ian
Hi Ian the facilities are exceptional! I felt like I was in the house! ( I probs was 😂😂) The chain bridge is interesting too! And the pub exceptional! Rachel & David
ah a clear video at last (many don't show the preset bit ) ! which is vital ,just to confirm ,we can definitely change the lithium absorption volts from 14.2 to 14.5 yes ?and still able to use the main button on front of the charger(blue smart ip65 25amp version ) to select lithium from the list on front cover .
Certainly on mine you can yes, so you can fine tune if required the voltages from the default settings. Hope all goes well. All the best, David 👍
Recent subscriber and I love your video style. This site is now on my list! We have not done the North East as yet but we fully intend to. I am not unaware of the beauty of the area, let alone the history! Ian
Thank you for watching & commenting Ian! Ohhh do put the North East including the Yorkshire dales on your list. There are some simply stunning places to visit Rachel & David 💗
Thirty odd years ago we stayed in our caravan at John and Marjorie Spinks farm, the highest place in Heighington and were parked adjacent to the characterful crew yard.
Thank you for watching & commenting 💗 Was it the same place to you think?
Thanks for the videos av just started to watch yas glad I did am off here Thursday in our new camper 😊
Thank you for finding us, watching & commenting! You will have to let us know what you think of it! Ohhhhh new campervan too! The site had changed so much since we first went years and years ago but we still loved it 🥰 Rachel & David 💗
Thanks I will let you no when av been..😊
Always a good feed at Kimberley Caravans
💗💗💗 we love it there 💗💗💗 staff are friendly in both Kimberley and the cafe. The cakes 🍰 ohhhh dear … too nice 😂😂 Thank you for watching & commenting Rachel & David 💗💗
Why can't we have malls or town that have that Harry Potter look. Those windows look so awesome along with the store fronts ancient look.
Thank you for watching and commenting 💗 they are incredibly beautiful aren’t they! Each shop dressed and looking spectacular with zero empty shops. If you compare to our ‘normal’ shopping centres which aren’t pretty and 50% empty there is no comparison York has a beautiful shopping centres which aren’t too! Rachel & David 💗
Happy new year to you both love following your travels soon be spring we go away all year nice n cosy inside in winter but even better when we can chill outside with a nice meal & a cool glass of something happy days
Thank you for watching and commenting! I love winter because you can wack the heating on and get all cosy but I do like summer too to sit outside. Certainly wouldn’t be sitting outside today - it’s Baltic Rachel & David 💗
What do you do with Roxy when you visit the pubs and restaurants, I know weatherspoons don’t take dogs.
Hi thank you for watching & commenting. We try to pick places that are dog friendly most the time. David went to the Wetherspoons by himself as he had gone on the tour alone while I looked after Roxy Roxy is hilarious in pubs though as she always tries to sit with anybody but us 😂 Rachel & David 💗
@ thank you. We have our dog with us all the time. So needy. I always see you out walking etc and visiting loads of places and eating out in different places without her. We wouldn’t leave Sam in the van because of the heat no different than a car. We do love your videos though so informative.
If we go to shows such as the NEC etc Roxy goes to doggy Creche as they aren’t dog friendly. We do take her the majority of the time or split walks etc so that one of us has her while the other films. It all depends on where we are going & what we are doing. The goth weekend is another one where Rox goes to Creche as it’s just way toooo busy for dogs. 💗
