    4 weeks to go til I pick up my studio sig combo in wine red taurus finish for my 40th bday. It's been 4 years worth of saving. Good things come to those who wait.

    Both great amps, I’ve owned both myself…SS in both head/cab and combo and a BD in the 40W combo. Both killer amps for sure. Different voicing to them and I could totally see preferences going either way and there are things I like about both for sure.
    Ultimately I ended up with a Studio Sig combo in tobacco suede and I’m very happy with it. I like the slightly softer feel compared to the BD but the BD has that punch and bite.

      Congrats!! I still love that amp. It has this beautiful cry in certain moments when you’ve got killer od or fuzz pushing it!

    For the clean tones, I prefer the SS. For the pushed driven tone, I think the BD sounds great. For the drive on my SS, I tend to change the preamp circuit and push the front end with booster and overdrive. It generally works better.

      You just can’t beat the SS. It’s a power house amp!

    I’ve tried both (combo 40w the Bloomfield and head + 2x12 cab the studio signature). then I connected the bloomfield to the 2x12 to have a better e A-B comparison…I was impressed by both…it was the first time to me testing a TR amp…just incredible! However I preferred the studio signature especially due to the gain structure switch…I loved the “blackface” position of the switch…more forgiving! and in general I felt the bloomfield too “stiff” and revealing for my poor playing capabilities…anyway: for both amps, the best master volume ever tried…perfect interaction with the gain! …last but not the least: the lead channel on the bloomfield was mind blowing! to conclude: for me the studio…🤟🤟🤟🤟

    Bloomfield has that spank and brightness, but I do like the studio cleaness of the signature. You should do a demo of those same two but throw in the wrench fuzz should be interesting.

    I personally from what i heard in this video and also having played both in real life. I do prefer the studio signature. The gain structure switch is so awesome. However the classic reverb signature beats both. I actually love their traditional clean also. It's a darker amp but it has a very particular sparkle the others don't. For me though if I could buy any two rock it would be the CRS.

    just a question: which position of the gain structure switch have you used in the video to test the studio signature? and in general how do you set this switch?

  • @ericcampbell551

    How do these amps compare for home volumes say about 80 decibels. I’ve heard that the studio sig is stiff unless you have a pedal on the front end. Otherwise you have to play it relatively loud. Otherwise it seems like the 100w amps two rocks makes are much more useable because of the way their master works?
    If someone is using was planning to buy a two rock strictly for home use to achieve SRV Lenny/Life without you tones what would you recommend?

    • @markhopkinsmusic
      @markhopkinsmusic  Рік тому +2

      Hey Eric, thanks for chiming in! Yeah, i've heard that about the 100 watt amps - in particular the Traditional Clean; meaning how great the master is and just how amazing those big cleans can be. I opted for these amps because I gig regularly and wanted something i could get to breakup at lower volumes. Believe it or not, the Studio Sig is one hell of an amp - and I think less of an issue playing at home than the Bloomfield (if I have it in 40 watt mode). But the 20 watt mode on the BD is pretty awesome and I generally leave it there while it's at home. I love both amps - and I feel like i've never had better tone, so I am happy as a clam at home or on the stage with either of these amps.
