Seldon was scared to death, that’s why he faked it. He didn’t want to get hurt by Tyson. This was sad to watch, because this is the night we lost one of the greatest rap artist in the game… 😞
The worst thing is that Mike needed the rounds and the challenge to get himself back in to championship condition for the challenges ahead. He gassed out against Holyfield because he hadn't been properly pushed in fights leading up to his duel with the Real Deal. By the time he faced Lewis he was done as an elite level fighter.
Tyson was done by 1991! In fact as soon as he got rid of Rooney after the Spinks fight in 88 was the beginning of the end. Stamina was not Tyson’s issue against Holyfield in either fight. It was evident during their first fight in 96 Tyson represented a more static fighter than he had been in his prime. In his prime Tyson used lots of movement, both head and body movement to evade punches and create multiple angles for attack. That, along with his powerful combination punching, especially his hooks and uppercuts made him a formidable foe. Against Holyfield he had no real movement and threw single punches. He barely used his jab to work his way in. The second fight would have gone the same way had he not got himself disqualified. Although Holyfields head butting has to be called out, it wasn’t the primary reason for his first loss. Then we have Tyson mentality. He was mentally fragile when faced with any serious opposition and never had a plan B as rarely needed it during the first part of his career!
@Its_Rick_James_Bi*ch I agree with everything you say, but I still don't think Mike would've lost against either Holyfield or Lewis had he been in condition, at least the condition he was in with Rooney. Mike was not susceptible to single shots to take him out. He was too strong and could absorb then. Had he been in condition he'd have outworked Holyfield, and probably Lewis, though without a doubt his leaving behind the head movement and side 2 side footwork and positioning, the opening up of multiple attacks etc, left him vulnerable. It is a pity, he definitely fell short of his potential.
@@antoineofionnagain3113 Tyson would not have beaten Holyfield in either fight even if he was in better condition! Although he wasn’t in bad condition in either fight! Now, had he fought Holyfield in 92 (had he not caught that case) it’s debatable whether he would have given a stronger showing, but Holyfield of 92 despite losing to Bowe was even better than in 96 and 97! And although Tyson didn’t focus on training for the Lewis fight in 2002 (he didn’t push himself in his training camp in Hawaii)..he still would not have had the movement to evade Lewis’s jab and get inside, which was his only chance of landing a big uppercut to trouble Lewis. Yeah, that was bad.....they said he signed to Horne Records, which was probably owned by John Horne, one of Tysons' handlers. Probably how he got the gig. But it probably the worst I've ever heard.
"The Atlantic City Express" Bruce Seldon had an incredible jab. That jab could rival any great HW jab. He really had to work hard to get back into title contention and won the WBA world title as 2# ranked in 1995. But, seeing this fight as I have 20-30 times over the years, I just can't walk away from the possibility that Seldon took a paid dive, and I 100% know this is universally the opinion! I mean his nerves can't have been that "shot" at his experienced level of professional boxing as a defending WBA champion (?). Because he took no clean hits and when you don't take any clean hits, you get per automatic suspicions of throwing the fight with no intentions of trying to win it. And we all ask WHY? Why just throw away your championship like that with-out even attempting to win? Against an opponent who was not only a greater boxewr but also from the gate the BIG player and favourite to win? Tyson was despite being the challanger the biggest paid man that night - Defending champion got $5 million but challanger Tyson got $15 million (!). So "if" Seldon took a dive and gave up of being the champion - then how much did he sold out for? What was the amount of money he got for taking a dive in 1st round knock-out loss and looking like a major quitter after taking no clean punches? I guess we will never find out with any valid evidences to support the claims..... boxing have always been dirty business.
It wasn't a fixed fight until Bruce made it one. He was kissing Tyson's ass before the fight and I highly doubt he believed he had any chance at all......which is why Don loved this match up. Too bad he didn't just say F it and go down swinging.
The conspiracy is that no way history was going to repeat itself, with an upset ruining the prospect of a lucrative Holyfield fight waiting in the wings like it did in Tokyo. Seldon was in on the script. At this time, Seldon, Bruno and Botha all had pieces of the belts by the time Mike got out of prison, the red carpet was laid out in front of Mike for him to unify.
Negative! Hybrid overhand right jab to the left temple. He never recovered. You can hear the punch. Wow! What power! Luckily he didn't go into a coma. Put it on a speaker and watch closely. Little bit like the Holmes shot but more of a jab! Now years later I regret calling it a dive. They both came to fight!
This was Don King's way of getting Mike to the Holyfield Superfight. He controlled both boxers and ran the Pay Per View. If Tyson lost no Mega Holyfield fight and no big pay day for Don King. Don't know if Seldon was told to drop or was just scared but it didn't seem like a knockout punch especially to someone whom is a world champion

All I think about this even tho mike is iconic is Tupac dying on this night
You can think negative or positive
Truth! is Mike Tyson was in full on
Awesome mode a True Real Brute!!
The singing was ffffffffed up😂😂😂
2pac
Mike given love to Sheldon immediately was dope
It wasn't a fixed fight until Bruce made it one. He was kissing Tyson's ass before the fight and I highly doubt he believed he had any chance at all......which is why Don loved this match up. Too bad he didn't just say F it and go down swinging.
I always respect the fact that Mike Tyson will check on his opponent after the fight is over.
Bruce is such a humble man. Already a millionaire lol
" 2 pac. " " with a. Bullet!" Laugh 😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣 😮😮😅😅😅
Tyson is the best boxer of the era, but he was not happy at all. He is a kind and great man, I love him
No... Larry Holmes, Holyfield and Lennox Lewis all have better claims over the 80's or 90's
Tyson did nothing in the 90's.
Back when fights were more exciting to watch.
Most fake wobble by Seldon ever seen just before ref stopped it
He folded dumbass always some bitch talking shit on the keyboard that never laced a glove
Bruce Seldon had a glass chin. That's the worst negative a prizefighter could have
Don King was a leech and betrayed Tyson , mike legend always💪🥊💓
Memang Tyson orang nomer satu⭐⭐😎😎
Its obvious this Mike was not the one when trained by Kevin Rooney. After Kevin his career went down like a roller-coaster.
Bruce "take a dive" Seldon 😂
28:38 fight starts
Perfect example of not offering predictions before a fight.
Don't forget his 3rd man in the ring Richard Steele.
