Mike Tyson beat a lot of good heavyweight boxers.. Don't mind haters. A guy who knockout Riddick Bowe,Frank Bruno,Mike spinks, Larry homes, Gollota etc

@@emekaericadonis3782 Good but not great. Tyson folded every time he faced a great fighter. Excepting when he fought the tired and flabby ghost of Larry Holmes.
Ser Uresto In 1988 Holmes was in his late 30s, but not at all flabby and washed up. Tyson KOd a fit and hungry Holmes that year. Prime Evander Holyfield struggled to beat 42 year old Holmes over 12 RNDs in 1992!
The funny thing is, he kind of disappeared after this fight. He was always highly-rated all through the late 80s - I know because I read The Ring back then - but Tony Tucker didn't resurface until 1993, when he and Lennox Lewis fought for the vacated WBC title, after Riddick Bowe refused to face Lewis. It's a shame. Tucker should have had more fights in the late 80s.
@@marshall7170 I already said why. Because he got in the ring with prime Mike Tyson…. because he stuck to his game plan and did not let Mike control the fight… because he lasted as long as he did with prime Tyson… and because he didn’t get his face broken.
Tucker was on top of the world in this match. I doubt he ever felt as good as he did here, he took iron mine and he stood toe to toe with him. Maybe 20 people out of the five billion alive at the time could do what he did that night. What an athlete.
You Tyson fanboys crack me up. No tucker was a fighter who had a pulse and Mike didn’t look so good. Tucker had drug problems through his life and Mike couldn’t do anything
It's cool going back & watching these old fights again i hadn't seen this since the day they fought ,i had forgot just how big tucker was he was a big man .
It’s called fighting smart. Tyson wouldn’t box with Tucker at long range, he doesn’t have the reach and he would get outboxed. Tucker wouldn’t exchange punches at close range that’s Tysons range, so he ties up Tysons arms. Both fighters want to control the distance at their preferred range, so they move accordingly, Tucker backs up and Tyson comes forward.
Haha yeah! Tucker was doing good as you heard cause he landed a punch in the 1st round. After the 4th they said he was doing good cause he landed that punch in the 1st round. Before the 8th started they were pointing out how good Tony was doing cause he landed that punch in the 1st round. In between the 11th & 12th they were discussing how good Tucker was doing cause he landed that punch in the 1st round. After the fight Ray was so impressed with Tucker's performance cause he landed that punch in the 1st round. Hahaha yo how many times you gonna talk about this shit!?!? They kept bringing it up even though it did nothing & he was to scared to throw it again cause Tyson would counter it. I don't know why it always amused & annoyed me that they were praising him because of one fuckn punch in 12rnds. That's how you know this guy was special. One landed punch was so rare they talked about it all fuckn fight lol wow!!!
what a great fighter, he lasted 12 rounds with Mike Tyson and took those punches like a champ. He fought to the end and he has earned my ultimate respect.
Tyson comes in constantly so Tucker caught him with an uppercut in 1st round and staggered Tyson, not many fighters during this era could even hit Tyson so props to Tucker for showing no fear and being a tough sob
Wrong! Douglas also fought Tyson with great confidence. He was not afraid of Mike. And to me, Douglas performed better than all of Tyson's other opponents.
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags BS! Douglas had lots of setbacks, including the death of his mom, just about 23 days before his fight against Tyson. His team even thought he would not go on with the fight as scheduled. But not only did Douglas chose to participate, but he used those setbacks as motivation. And Buster produced what many (myself including) believe to be perhaps the best performance of his entire boxing career, that night against Tyson. He did just about everything right. He fought a smart fight, and with great confidence..showing he wasn't intimidated by Tyson. He also fought aggressively from the start to finish. And to me, Buster fought Tyson more cleanly than both Tucker and Holyfield did. He wasn't holding unto Tyson quite like the other two pugilists mentioned were. In fact, Tyson was at times holding unto Buster. And in the case of Holyfied, he was doing the "headbutt" thing, as usual. Douglas did none of that. The man is totally deserving of his victory.
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags I am not denying the significance of training. It plays an important role for success. But, you should not attempt to diminish Buster Douglas' well-deserved victory (as though it doesn't matter) because "Tyson wasn't trainning at that point." First of all, was it Buster's fault? And even though we agree on the importance of training, it doesn't guarantee a victory each time an athlete sets out to compete. And based upon my observation, Tyson has had some victories of which he did not perform as well as he did against Buster. So, what's you point? You also made it appear as though losing a loved one (especially a parent) isn't a big deal....like it is supposed to motivate people. If that were the case, why do others (especially close friends) offer their support to those who lost loved ones? I've seen people who were non-alcoholics indulge in alcohol, after losing a loved one. And some even ended up doing drugs, also. It is heartbreaking to lose a loved one. But Buster CHOSE to use the death of his mom as his source of inspiration and motivation. He did it for her! Now, in his fight against Holyfield, Buster wasn't as focused as he had been against Mike. He got careless, as he misfired on a hook and went off balanced. And Holyfield caught him with a punch at that same moment. This could've happened to anyone. It reminds me of Briggs fight against Lewis (although Lewis never touched him the last time he landed on canvas and the referee stopped the fight). Briggs just went flat down after Lewis dodged his shot. Lol. But I brought this up to show how that a boxer can really lost his balance and became very vulnerable after misfiring a hook. But, I agree that little or lack of training on the part of Douglas may be the main reason why his career went downhill after his victory over Tyson. Training is very important to all. But especially to someone like Buster, who isn't as naturally talented as Tyson and other boxers are.
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags Once again, BS! And I'm not related to Douglas. The only thing Douglas had going for him that night, was the way he performed. It was the performance of his career. And he knew he had to produce such a performance in order to defeat Tyson. No boxer has ever hit Tyson with heavy shots quite like Douglas did. Douglas fought a near perfect fight. Even before he knocked out Tyson, he continually stunned him and caused him to back off with heavy shots. You should go back to watch the fight again, and educate yourself. I give Buster his due respect. And I am a Tyson fan.
I competed against Tony as an amateur. This was right after he won the Pan am games. He became the number one rated 178 lbs amateur in the world defeating Sixto Soria after defeating him in the world games. Tony and I went the distance in a three round slugfest. He got the decision

@@jamesdorsey.9528 Sounds like you're in better shape than most twenty year olds. I've been watching lots of videos of old fights lately. Tony looks so hard to to hit he was skilled, quick and smart. Tyson couldn't even hit him solid.
Tucker was a class act and one of the best challengers to Tyson. Long arms, height advantage, effective jab, powerful straight right, a moving target, all of these factors diminished his opponents knockout potential. Good fight.
Tucker had a lot of talent, but he was a noted cokehead in the prime of his career and always had injury problems (even in the Tyson fight, he entered with a broken right hand). Unfortunately, not everyone wanted to fight Tucker due to his stellar amateur career, size, and gifted skill set. He was a high-risk, low-reward fight, which is why Michael Spinks refused to defend his IBF Heavyweight Title against Tucker. He opted instead to fight Gerry Cooney. During Tucker’s comeback in the 90s, he was next in line to fight Big George Forman, who had just defeated Michael Moore to be the oldest Heavyweight Champion in history. George openly admitted to “ducking” Tucker due to the latter's risks.
Man this is between my 6th or 7th time watching this fight & every time I enjoy it more then the last time toney tucker laid the blueprint in 86 on how to fight Tyson if you are taller heavier with a longer reach both these warriors gave their all but for Tyson to go the distance for the 1st time in his career makes this even more a classic
UK Boxing fans will remember getting up in the middle of the night to watch Tyson's fights,( Long before 'Sky' was heard of). Even though Mike won, the day after everyone said ' Tucker gave him a good fight'.
Kevin Rooney (Tysons corner) Gave both of the fighters corner attention after the fight. He gave them both water from the same bottle. Awesome sportsmanship. 1:10:46
1:14:58 as someone in Curry’s camp, I am still amazed at Tyson’s boxing IQ. Dare I say, right now, Mike Tyson understands boxing and it’s history better than anyone on the planet earth. He was an still is a walking/talking encyclopedia of boxing.
Props to Mike for hanging in there with someone as tall and lanky as Tony, and even more props to Tony for going 12 with Mike. This is one of my favorite fights ever, for many reasons. Lots of lessons.
I will never forget an incident that happened about 25 years ago. There were 2 little old ladies, probably in their late 70s-early 80s. They were in the frozen food section & there was "Tyson" brand frozen chicken. One of the ladies picked up a bag, giggled, & said something like "Ohhh....like that boxer....". 😂 That's how popular Tyson was. Even elderly women who probably never watched boxing, knew who he was. "Mike Tyson" was a household name.
@info gathering for life Tyson was overrated, and his resume doesn't stack up against Holyfield's. Seriously, Tyson rarely faced a real challenge, or adversity in the ring.
For those who don't know: Tony Tucker hurt his hand in sparring leading up to the fight. The uppercut that nearly knocked Tyson's head off shattered Tucker's hand and he says it's the worst pain he's ever felt in the ring. After this, he said he had to pull more of an Ali and do some tricks (obviously had to clutch more) - Tucker was a beast and lasted 12 rounds with prime Tyson with one hand. He also had a war with Buster Douglas just 3 months earlier which he won.
I agree and saw an interview with Joe Rogan and Tyson and Tyson gave kudos to Rooney on how he was such a good trainer for him. It was interesting that Tyson said that after the Spinks fight King came in and got rid of everyone but Tyson said why we getting rid of Kevin. Was very interesting
@@briancamilli8873So dam! Don King deliberately ruined Tyson career. He didn't have that man's best interest at all. He knew Tyson was vulnerable and weak-minded. As long as Rooney was in his corner he couldn't take full advantage of him like he wanted to.
In this fight Tyson also tried to win with one punch. Tucker didn't use hid jab, what Douglas did later. Tyson was becaming simpler, and conflict between them would happen anyway, because Rooney would push him do more.
Man, Mills Lane was one great ref. He was on those clinches before they had a sec to become 5 seconds. Really kept the pace of the fight lively and entertaining. Not only that, but the fighters respected him subconsciously knowing that he was flying all over the place, too.
IMO he should have deducted a point for the obvious holding. I think the sport is called boxing, not wrestling. I was a wrestler and we didn't throw punches.
I'm from Sri Lanka here we do not have pro boxing. 99% of people do not watch boxing.. but everyone from little kid to old grandpa knows the Name TYSON and when ever we hear that out let's starts shivering..
@@spirgtudsrubec7776 Was Norton nearly as good as Ali? I don't think he was, but he beat him. At least two out of three fights, in my opinion. Tucker hadn't lost in nine years and was at his best here. It's just hard to take anything away from Tyson's performance here and people are SO critical of Tyson.
@@thorstrebla980 Norton's style was all wrong for Ali, being better in a direct match up doesn't always translate to better in terms of all time greatness. Junior Jones & Marco A Barrera is another prime example of this.
@@crimsonchin9632 Well, that's kind of what I'm saying. Tony Tucker may well have been the guy that had exactly what it took to beat Tyson in 87-88. He had the tools to beat Tyson that everyone said could be his kryptonite. Was he one of the greatest fighters ever? No. But he was damn good and you could see the tall fighter that could take a punch here, and Tyson adjusted his fight style to beat him with speed, defense, and stamina. What I'm saying is that even though people sometimes overrate Tyson, in a lot of ways he's underrated and people ignore so much of what he was able to accomplish. He beat a guy probably 9-3 who probably had the best chance to beat him at that time, and they focus more on the 3 rounds that he lost as something bad about him rather than the fact that Tucker was just a really good fighter. This is one of Tyson's best showings. A lot more impressive than his 91 second knockout of Spinks, I think.
There is now. The current champion is like Tyson was - a good fighter in a field of bad fighters. This fight showed what Tyson was - barely beat a nothing fighter.
@@handymanny6615 But that's my point. You'd have to be a real boxing aficionado to know who Tucker is. Walk up to anyone - even someone who hates boxing and never watches it - and ask who Ali is. They'll know who you're talking about. Ask that same person who Tucker is, and you'll get a , "Who is that?" I'm somewhere in the middle. I'll follow the big fights and love doing it, and i know all the big names, but I'm not a student of the craft by any means.
The Spy : Which Mercante, junior or senior? In any case, yeah, they were both great, with senior getting the extra point for poking Joe Frazier in the eye, but Mills is still my favorite. My least favorite, by the way, is Richard Steele, notorious for stopping fights prematurely. His decision to stop Meldrick Taylor’s fight against Julio Cesar Chavez two seconds before the final bell, with Taylor leading on two scorecards, still makes me mad as hell.
@ The Spy : The reason I asked is because both father and son Mercante had the first name Arthur and both were outstanding referees. Now if you didn't know that, you should probably read up on your boxing before making stupid assumptions. You've just been counted out.

Well maybe the Heavyweight division might be a boring. There have been exciting fights overall lately. Plus, a lot of people that don’t know boxing like “that” are probably watching Tyson fights because Wilder said that he would knock Tyson out-therefore they may be doing their homework in order to make an accurate assessment.
Although this is true, we were looking for the best fights back the as well. With that being said.... I as a boxing fan since the age of 5 years old have been disappointed with boxing for quite some time because of the cherry picking that Money May created. Not taking away what he has accomplished because he is filthy rich for doing his thing. My thing is it almost started to become trend. He kind of is steering Tank Davis that way. However, I have been satisfied with the fact that the beat are fighting each other like the DLH, Mosley, Forrest (RIP), Quartey, Wright, Trinidad, Vargas, (etc) Era. Mickey Garcia didn’t have to fight Spence but he did. Danny Garcia didn’t have to fight Thurman or Porter but he did. They both could have cherry picked and still remained undefeated. Porter didn’t have to fight Brook but he did. Thurman didn’t have to fight Porter but he did. These are the best guys fighting each other. Spence fought Brook and Porter as well. Thurman also didn’t have to fight Manny Pacquiao-Yes it was a big money fight but he could have still had is 0 and just sat tight for everyone else to fight and made a big money “fights” later. All these fights for the most part have been just as action packed as this TYSON-TUCKER fight (of course this fight had more hype for obvious reasons but as far as action goes....I’m just saying). If those fights were boring to you then I don’t know what to tell you. I would like to see Brook and Spence fight again at 154-when Spence is done with 147. Now if we can just get the lighter weight guys Gary Russel, Teofimo Lopez, Lomachenko, and gervonta Davis to fight each other....that would be great!
This is really one of the great forgotten fights. Tyson out of his comfort zone, going the distance, looking not quite like himself. Tucker was a monster too but on the receiving end of things. He couldn't land a punch, he took a lot, but avoided the big Tyson hit that would have ended things early which is a lot more than most of his opponents could claim.
I remember this fight and people were angry that Tucker didn't stand there and let Tyson just knock him out. Tucker was very skilled, underrated and unappreciated.
Stoned Again Correct, Tucker was a very good boxer, but I once saw him lose a bizarre fight against UK boxer Herbie Hide, and to this day I am convinced that was a fix. Hide was an up and coming fighter with a big punch, but an inferior boxer to Tucker (Bowe destroyed Hide in a WC title fight) Tucker knows how to spoil a fight but he fought an unusually cautious fight, and was blown out in 2 -3 rounds.
you never saw Buster Douglas KO Tyson? Or Evander Holyfield embarrass him twice in the same year? Or how Lewis bullied the living fuck out of him? Are you actually even a Tyson fan, let alone a boxing fan?

I don't care if people say like tyson never fought or beat anyone good. Mike tyson was a great fighter. He was strong his punch was devastating. I loved watching him in the early 90s
I remember watching this back then and thinking that Tyson wasn’t the normal Tyson. This is when he started to drift away from D’Amato’s teaching. Lazier footwork, less shifting...etc,etc,etc...

Times have changed, heavy weights used to be in great shape back then and had resolve to go through hell, now we have much bigger heavy-weights but most are out of shape which leave the very few in good shape looking way better than they really are. Primed Tyson would dominate today's heavyweights.

Because Tucker wasn't afraid he went to Mike Tyson was built by intimidation like Sonny Liston and when that didn't work his skills came in and when that didn't work he cried like a baby
you should never judge a fighter on the basis of one or two mediocre performances....I could easily say ali was almost koed by henry cooper and tysons a beast compared to cooper...but that's stupid....on both their best nights, ali vs Tyson would be spectacular action with most likely a late tko for ali….unless damato is in the picture, then who knows
Tucker started great and matched tyson in the beginning. But during later rounds he started getting tired. Tyson outlasted him with the stamina. Rooney prepared tyson like fighting machine. This fight is the proof tyson could last all the rounds and outlast his opponent. Post rooney and especially post prison tyson was disaster compared to this one.
Yeah Tucker did start great but didn’t finish. I heard he broke his hand I believe. I think this fight probably would’ve had a different outcome if that doesn’t happen. The way he started off and landed on Tyson in that 1st round, was the blueprint to beating Tyson . Guys like Douglas, Holyfield, and Lewis used that same blueprint. Tying Tyson up when he gets on the inside , keeping him at a distance, limiting him to one punch, and countering him . Tucker fought that way early in the fight . He stopped when I believe, he broke his hand . Maybe in the 2nd or 3rd round when his activity fell off . He was besides James “Quick” Tillis, Tyson’s toughest challenge though out his first 30 fights. Tucker’s movement effected Tyson as well . If Tucker would’ve continued to land on Tyson as we saw in Tyson’s loses to particularly against Holyfield, and Douglas because he was still virtually in his prime, he wore down in the later rounds and they either stopped him or knocked him out . I believe that probably would’ve happened in this fight his Tucker doesn’t break his hand . Tyson was a power puncher, and power punchers use a lot of energy trying to throw every punch with force . Tyson knocked a lot guys out in the 1st round by doing that . He wasn’t quite as effective later on in some fights more when guys were able to land on him . That was easier said then done with Tyson’s head movement especially early in his career.
@@tonyh8965 All the gentleman that beat Tyson used virtually that same blueprint. I am not saying it worked for all but the ones that gave Tyson the most trouble or defeated him, fought him the same exact way with some minor differences. A younger faster prime Tyson, probably does have more success against Holyfield then he did when he was older , but Holyfield was also younger and a lot faster. It would’ve been very interesting. Holyfield didn’t get knocked or stopped a lot during his career and that’s what Tyson feed off of especially early in his career. Holyfield always has been one of the best counter puncher in boxing . You don’t believe a younger faster version of Holyfield doesn’t catch Tyson with one of his wild swings . I believe so . Tucker caught him in this fight . Tony Tubbs who lasted all of 2 rounds , caught him , and Larry Holmes if he had his timing when they fought, probably catches him as well . Bigger boxers that didn’t allow him to get clean shots on them inside , and counter punched real well gave Tyson problems. Now with his speed power and head movement that would’ve been easier said then done .
@@alfredmcglothen6050 Holyfield fought nothing like Douglas. Completely different. Tyson had years on inactivity prior to Holyfield. I admire Tyson for taking the fight so soon after jail. Tony Tucker will never be considered one of the greats of all time, but he was certainly one of the greats of his generation. Tucker went the distance with a prime undefeated Tyson.
Rumours has it that Larry homes wanted no part of tucker. Tucker was actually ranked while holmes was still champion...tucker was never quite the same after this fight ..tho he did go on to give Lennox lewis a resembley hard fight about 5 years after this. But he was still well beaten on points and knocked down twice
This is possibly Tysons BEST Fight in terms of going the distance and progressively breaking down a large, mobile undefeated heavyweight who came to win. Tyson called down after round 4 and took the council of Kevin Rooney, executing it well. He started utilizing his own underrated piston like jab to off set Tucker and adopted a beautiful body attack that forced Tucker to shelve his own jab. Tucker was very hesitant from being countered to the body everytime he threw his jab. This in affect, turned The big Man into a hold and grab survivalist. So much so that the referee warned him he would have to start throwing punches or he would forfeit the bout. Tyson went from initially head hunting, into a more versatile and thinking aggressor who systematically broke down a very good fighter in Tucker.
Yes Mart, Tucker was underrated. It was just bad timing that he ran into a prime Tyson when he had just won his world title. In another era he could have been a long reigning champion.

Tyson was one of the dirtiest fighters in history, yet his fanboys have the nerve to complain when one of his opponents who beats him supposedly fouls. It's ok when Tyson repeatedly hit guys on the break, bit their ears, hit them with his elbows, tried breaking (Botha's arm ) , hit guys when they were already down (Bruno), etc but oh they cry when Holyfield butted him. I'm now a Tony Tucker fan. He fought this battle against Tyson just about as good as any man alive could have.

Tucker was on top of the world in this match. I doubt he ever felt as good as he did here, he took iron mine and he stood toe to toe with him. Maybe 20 people out of the five billion alive at the time could do what he did that night. What an athlete.

Tucker certainly loves Mike. He tried to hug him throughout the fight!!
Hahahahahahaha yeah he did do some excessive hugging.
So did Bruno. Look what happened to him. Maybe Tyson had a crush for Tony?
That’s what I said
It’s called fighting smart.

Tucker. The only man I have seen fight Mike, and not be scared stiff. Excellent boxer.
Wrong! Douglas also fought Tyson with great confidence. He was not afraid of Mike. And to me, Douglas performed better than all of Tyson's other opponents.
@@TheTmat007 Fair enough.
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags
BS!
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags
I am not denying the significance of training.
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags
Once again, BS!

We need more Lomachenko fights.
Mike Tyson is a top 5 greatest heavyweight of all time.
Here what EVERYONE forgot when Tyson was in his prime, he had a chin.
He had it all, top 10 power, top 5 speed, top 5 defense, arguably top 10 chin.
@Ted Bundy coke*
Whoever thinks that Tyson couldn't take a punch needs to watch both ruddock fights.
Every time I hear Larry Merchant speak i think he's 12 rounds into pickling his brain in vodka
Tucker right hand was hurt.
Muhammad Ali is the greatest heavyweight that ever grace that boxing ring
I have to give every brother to every three step ring was a mean dude
He was a better fighter than he ever received any credit for, a shame really, because Tony Tucker could fight!
@@Pulsonar I think Ray Mercer was dirty also.

When he’s not DANCING CHEEK TO CHEECK. WTF..
I was actually hoot'n for Tucker.. Never seen anyone fight such a good fight against Tyson..;
you never saw Buster Douglas KO Tyson? Or Evander Holyfield embarrass him twice in the same year? Or how Lewis bullied the living fuck out of him? Are you actually even a Tyson fan, let alone a boxing fan?
..."until then", you meant, I suppose.
@@fatrobdouble Excuse the hell out of me buddy i didn't know we are supposed to reply only according to your standards. No i'm not a boxing fan or a Mike Tyson fight. And yes i've seen those fights but as a person who is not in the know- i just thought this was technically fought really beautiful by Tucker... a boxer i hadn't heard of.
Exactly that what i took from the fight, that extraordinary bob and weave didnt show. Just a small glance...
Tyson hit him so hard, the front row got sprayed with jerri curl juice. LOL 1:09:42
😂🤣😂🤣😂
He took that punch like a man too! Just shook it off!
59:47 1st service
That sure wasn't the only time either lol.
😂
Remember this fight to this day. I’m a Tyson fan and always will be. Mike won, but I couldn’t have garnered more respect for any fighter more than Tony Tucker. Both warriors.
Times have changed, heavy weights used to be in great shape back then and had resolve to go through hell, now we have much bigger heavy-weights but most are out of shape which leave the very few in good shape looking way better than they really are. Primed Tyson would dominate today's heavyweights.
So would a lot of the great heavyweights of yesterday.
@@tommackay7433 yup.
Prime tyson got sparked by douglas and tyson was in career best physical condition in the holyfield rematch and still tried to find a way out

@UCvL13CaDPzcj-M3EEZykr6g stfu idiot Tyson didn't have Kevin rooney for buster Douglas fight and buster was in much better shape for Tyson than holyfield holyfield was a cheat fuckking cheat!!!!!!
Tucker took on Tyson in his prime and in hindsight, did really well.
He broke his right hand early in the fight, that's why he (Tucker) couldn't let his hands go at will.
Because Tucker wasn't afraid he went to Mike Tyson was built by intimidation like Sonny Liston and when that didn't work his skills came in and when that didn't work he cried like a baby
@Derrick Jones wilder wouldn't have done shit.
Robert Duval
you should never judge a fighter on the basis of one or two mediocre performances....I could easily say ali was almost koed by henry cooper and tysons a beast compared to cooper...but that's stupid....on both their best nights, ali vs Tyson would be spectacular action with most likely a late tko for ali….unless damato is in the picture, then who knows
12 rds with mike tyson, This man was a champion in my book.
Even took a few rounds
Tucker started great and matched tyson in the beginning. But during later rounds he started getting tired. Tyson outlasted him with the stamina. Rooney prepared tyson like fighting machine. This fight is the proof tyson could last all the rounds and outlast his opponent. Post rooney and especially post prison tyson was disaster compared to this one.
You missed the 12th boy.
@@alfredmcglothen6050 what you said you on theory… not fact. Personally I think Tyson of 1988 defeats any Holyfield.
It took Lewis until 1999 to fight Holyfield by the time from 1991 Tyson had fought stewart, Ruddock twice, signed to fight Holyfield for 1992. Unfortunately went to prison for 3 years, inactive for 4 years & 3 months.but still came out & within a year or so Fought Bruno, Seldon, Holyfield twice… yet Lewis fights evander in 1999. Sometimes people must give credit where it’s due. Tyson fought them all & so did evander. Lewis did later on but when those fighters were past their best.
love mills lane...yet to see a referee like him to the day
think he is. you do need a bit of theatrics when youre refereeing a match with Mike Tyson in it
@Derrick Jones Yh he is.
reminds me of Knockout Kings
This is a brilliant upload, Really really
Thank you 🤝👊
Oddly, Tyson didn't look very comfortable on the inside - he usually held when in close.
Most of his damage was done from mid-range.
A great match. Tony Tucker did well to sustain Tyson. Congrats!!
Tony's hand game was crazy much respect for going the full 12 rounds with Iron Mike 🥊

Tucker is an underrated fighter.. he was really good and went the distance with tyson and lewis.
Tucker was also a badass. He was tough, no doubt.
Tucker loved mike. Look how much he hugged him
This is possibly Tysons BEST Fight in terms of going the distance and progressively breaking down a large, mobile undefeated heavyweight who came to win.
This is the smartest most defensive Mike Tyson I’ve ever seen…changing angles counter punching…this Mike would beat anybody 💯
Tony Tucker, another underrated heavyweight from 80s
Yes Mart, Tucker was underrated. It was just bad timing that he ran into a prime Tyson when he had just won his world title. In another era he could have been a long reigning champion.
@@conwayjefferson9527 Mike never reached his prime.
@@bigacellc8802 I was going on the hypothesis of what is, not what might have been. Say between 1986 and 1989 considered to be Tyson's best period. Iron Mike is beyond a legend but T Tucker still gave him a good fight.💪
@@conwayjefferson9527 I know what you were going on. All I'm saying is "prime" is the incorrect word to use & I hear this word used a lot with Mike. Let's just say, Mike when he was with Rooney & the Cus camp bc that's when he was at his best. His prime years were spent in prison just like Ali. Salute.
Wow! Mike Tyson is my favorite boxer of all-time. But I’ve never watched this fight until now. And I’ve got to say after watching this…. It’s looks like Mike was actually doubting if he won or not… great fight… lol… I know Mike was saying to himself after winning the decision that “wooooo that was close”😂
No I think Mike was not satisfied. Mike was always disappointed when he doesn't think he fought well. His biggest problem was always trying to be spectacular in every fight.
@@dollarroll2000 I believe that's because Tyson is a born entertainer. Clutching is boring. But if you can't get in there and do your guitar solo it's kind of a wash. I believe Mike felt those overhead lights that night. Getting a gym tan from halogen beams, and being discouraged.
@@joelalexander4513 Agreed.
Back in the day when people stayed up until 5am in Europe to watch a boxing match

More excuses.
It wasn't just Tyson who said this about "Headbutt" Holyfield and people are starting to notice this in some of his fights...
Pulsar stargrave ,corectamundo 👏🤙
Tyson was one of the dirtiest fighters in history, yet his fanboys have the nerve to complain when one of his opponents who beats him supposedly fouls. It's ok when Tyson repeatedly hit guys on the break, bit their ears, hit them with his elbows, tried breaking (Botha's arm ) , hit guys when they were already down (Bruno), etc but oh they cry when Holyfield butted him. BTW Tyson as rersponsible as holyfield for the butting since both fighters were charging at each other. Holyfield would have beaten Tyson no matter what.
LOL so true Jim Jones! They don't ever want facts to get in their fairy tale ending.
