I love this knife. I purchased it because of this video, also got to meet Mr. Holladay 3 times and he is very knowledgeable, also I am a big fan of TJACK Survival.
I love David. I have been blessed to have met David in the bush on multiple occasions. That was over 10 years ago, still forwards walking and he still has the same sunflower shirt.
I met David Holladay a few times he is an awesome guy. Great knife and Video.
My Mom would really like his shirt. She loves sunflowers.
Always enjoy hearing this man talk. A wealth of knowledge in that mind. If I end up getting a new hunting/bushcraft knife in the near future, this would be on the short list for sure.
Cant wait for the next batch to drop, this is definitely on my radar.
Could listen to him talk all day ....and he is so correct there isn't one knife that does it all...people who have used knives for years understand that ....I also love that Dave used Archaelogy to help design the blade ...Natives know knives ...especially in the early times of North America ....Great Video Guys !!,;;; Spook

Reminds me alot of an old Buck Kalinga model.
I can kinda see it looking like a buck
as usual a good presentation and well thought out design. use of ancient technology = hundreds/thousands of years of refining what works within the physical limitations of available materials (the wrist drop/flip to free the hand then use the tool an example). good going "cousin-in-law" as I like to call you.
"I have this part of me that can make any knife I have functional and work great because I have my skills, not because of the knife". I agree with his statement, that at the end of the day, it's your knowledge and skillset that makes the tool perform. I appreciate that he sees an aesthetic value in the tool, that should please the user. Call it spiritual perhaps, but I do believe it is one more way we can connect with the ancient ones and honor the heritage we all share as Americans. Blessings.

Thanks a lot man for the video that is a beautiful knife! Just as Mister Holiday said and he has used it I can think of a lot of uses for that particular knife. Any man that says he has one knife to do it all really doesn't know knives very well. In my go bag I have 4 not counting my everyday pocket knife and I couldn't tell you how many I have in my camping equipment I really never sat down to count them and I don't know how many I have in my whole collection but I do know it's a lot. Looks like a solid blade. I too like a puuko flat point, but there are undeniable uses for the big belly of this design too. I also prefer a sharpened spine, but chewing up batons is definitely a thing with them. Glad to be redeemed for owning 50 knives!
The 90 degree spine isnt only for striking a fero rod.
It scrapes bark from wood very well to make wood tools, arrow shafts & walking sticks.
Seems like quite a knife. And nice shirt.

@@TJackSurvival One question I have, is how the upswept tip does when it comes to making the divot for friction fire; I suspect it's just a new dance step to learn, but do you have a take on it?
@@Ghost_Os works fine. Most knives before the Loveless drop point hunter looked like this because it’s a great skinner. No one struggled making a notch with them. It’s a non issue.

I live everything but, wish the Gaye’s was just a bit bigger. I have Arthritis and fibromyalgia so I have a very weak grip and my hands slide up too easily. And I need a longer guard to brace my hand. But so many well thought out features on this knife.
I think the knife you carry depends of the environment that you are in but if it’s the only thing you have I’m sure we all could make it work
Good info . I like cold steel knives but that’s just me. I don’t have 50. But I do have 2 one for deer one for fish . Hatchet for everything else that’s just me tho I like the string in handle and the steel protruding from back that seems good

This knife has a lot of extra features, most bushcraft knives don't incorporate quite a large percentage of these extra small design elements.
