This is really cool. The only thing i know to pick up textures like rocks is either clay, wax, or silicone. What you can do is make a negative of your rock with clay, or wax. Once an impression of the rock is made, Take the rocks out and pour silicone into the negative cavity. Once the silicone dries, you can use that in your resin mold without the need of the plastic.
Cast your rocks in alginate, cast the negative in silicone, use the silicone inlay in your mold. 😊 And you can keep the rocks, nobody on this planet would think you "stole" them and should put them back. 😂
thank you for trying. I would suggest that you put vasoline on the rocks before you put them in resin without the plastics and only fill half way don't cover the rocks
Plastic bags was a good idea but I know exactly how to do it. Step 1 pour your resin into the molds Step 2 inside a cup, pour baby lotion into the cup and then place your rocks inside. Mix until all is covered. Step 3 place your rocks layered in baby lotion wherever you want in the mold. Wait until cured then remove the rocks. Clean your resin and bammm! All done.
Be sure your resin is thin for the first layer so the rocks sit slightly above the resin level. And the baby lotion isn’t too goopy on the rocks. Thin layer of lotion should be fine. Also helps if you have UV resin for the first layer. The lotion keeps itself separated from the resin and will also help keep the shape of the rock as it cures.
People actually complain about you using rocks that you plucked from the beach 😮 wow some people just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. This planet is a huge rock. There are plenty of pebbles to go around 😊
I wonder if the plastic is too thick, maybe clingfilm with mould release might work, i will try later and let you know my verdict. They are all very pretty and the white with gold is beautiful 😊

oooo I have been seeing all the lotion videos…I’ll have to try it out. Thankyou.
@@JBKonsCreations your welcome. If your not successful with that, I’ve heard vasoline works as well
They all look gorgeous ❤
They look like a foil was crumpled in the middle!! 👏👏 It is a very cool look!! 👍
YESS! Especially in that first one I demold :D
@@JBKonsCreations Ageed!! ❤️
I saw another video where they used cling film - I don’t know if that would work better as more flimsy.
These look amazing. 😊
I think it would be cool if you swirled the black and white resin together.
I love it, what a cool project!
Cheap cling wrap is thinner and might work
I will definitely give it a go!
I would try deeper resin, thinner plastic and dump the rocks in, don't place so gently?
hmm I'll try that. Maybe piling the rocks might be better for more weight.
Love your channel!! Have you tried using the fast cure machine from let’s resin? I’m thinking of buying this for the quick cure time.
No I haven’t lol I don’t have room in my craftroom 😆
If you covered the rocks in Vaseline would that work ?
Could you maybe use Saran Wrap???
Love these!!! I know what look your going for…. I think youll need some silicone rocks! What a great idea though👍🏼👍🏼
I wonder if a thin layer of latex on the rocks would keep their texture and let them release from the resin without using plastic?
Try saran wrap
I’ll definitely try that!
Maybe make a silacone mold with the rocks, and then you would have a mold and be able to remove the rocks
daniel. Cooper used some kind of gel to achieve the rock look. His channel is his nzma he does a bunk of experi ent.
I think it’s 1200 grit wet and dry sand paper
I like them good job
Maybe try resin tape?
Why not put the rocks down first and them plastic and then resin? It might not work in these tiny molds though.

Make rocks out of cilicone easy to take out
