    They are renting their main house. In 5-10 years, they could move back to their main home while the teens are home and then move back into that space when the kids go to college. It creates great flexibility going forward.

    The odd thing I find with "tiny" homes is parents don't seem to plan for their children's bedrooms so they can grow until at least 18 yrs old. It's like they build the bedrooms for the size the children are presently. I'm like WTF? Children grow a lot month to month. But they know what works so...

      They could easily make an extra room next to the kitchen, by simply moving the dinner table and grill up to the little green area, where the two large beanbags sit, and then extend the roof out further. The current children bedroom could then be made into one large room.

      @@EnFuegoDuo yes true! It is. You do have to factor in the pool and the comparable houses in that area in New South Wales in Sydney as well as the cost of living, material and labor costs. It also depends if they are close to the City or outside of the City. Just looking it up, rent in that area for a 1 Bedroom in City Centre averages 2,572.51/mo USD and outside of City Centre $1,910.55/mo USD (of course depending on which site you look on). So, it doesn't seem like a cheap area to live in the first place let alone with a pool, and I live in Florida where it is expensive as well. One big thing to remember also is that it is much much cheaper if you are doing the work yourself as opposed to having it completely built for you. You are right though, I have seen much better deals in the US, but this is definitely upgraded and in an expensive area.

    I don't understand the envious comments in here. this family made a great investment. going smaller wasn't for being free from mortgage, but to invest, and that's ok. yes, they are great parents, giving their kids an amazing space outdoors to play when they most need it. the kids' bedroom is just nice, kids are not claustrophobic, we adults are everythingphobic. of course they'll move back to the main house eventually, and then back to the play house when kids leave home. imagine their grandchildren excited to visit them to enjoy the pool or sleep over in the mini bedroom. Everything looks so fun! Lots of love to this family from Brazil ♥

Dang someone robbed this couple. At the most in my area its like 400 bucks per sf. and that's top of the line finishes. This house should have been around 100 grand and the pool around 50 grand with the spa . That would be max(150 +/-). They did say they did work on the main house so maybe that was 250 grand?

      @Betazeno 5 років тому

      @@TheJttv The last one seems more cramped to me. For sure the kitchen and Living on this one is much more open. The other house is bigger overall so it has a better bedroom. This one has a weak bedroom for sure because its trying to fit 3 bedrooms in the space for 1. They both have tall ceilings and yes the "2nd & 3rd bedroom" on this one is for specific size children. But if you turned this one into a one bedroom instead of 3 bedroom and used the 2nd bedroom space in the bedroom it would be an amazing 300 sf home. The porch I also don't agree. I prefer the roofed porch from this one. The quotes are because even though cool the kids bedrooms are too tiny. They may work for a couple years but they will grow out of them quick. The bathroom would have been better with the door but that's minor. Also, they should have just used a regular couch instead of the built in that they are using as a head rest.

      No not a problem. As they have said the front house is theirs and currently rental. They can move back to it and rent the back 😀.

      @@Juliet39300 exactly! The only person who was listening to the video actually. This lot has 2 houses and they are renting the bigger one right now which helps them pay down the mortgage. They can also move into the big house and rent the small one if need be and get less money but more space. GENIOUS

      he told me : if you wanna live in trash and scavenge the dumpster go ahead some people want more from their lives!!!! 🤯🙄
      I still hv not come across a cost effective tiny house which is made of dumpster trash I don't know why he got so angry!???
      anyway this was more of a minimalistic approach than cost effective! beautiful anyway ❤

    • @availanila
      @availanila 3 роки тому +1

      I was actually thinking the same thing. But by estimate from comparing the yard size with the other one behind theirs I think the tenants just have a small yard as opposed to no hard with the landlord's house and pool there. It's like they built their house in the far corner of the property away from the house and fenced it in with a live decorative fence so the main house has a fairly small yard but still large enough to hang out and play in and a smaller driveway but they should get little to no interaction unless it's sound carrying far.

    It looks to me like a capital play: when the time comes, I suspect they will sell the property as a house with pool and granny flat/cabana. They have effectively improved the property into the $1.2 - $1.5million category. By aggressively paying down the mortgage now in the current low interest environment, they will end up with more than enough to buy another house with larger bedrooms for the girls as they grow to school age.

      To be honest in Sydney even without the pool and granny flat, a full sized house with its own land will be in the $1.2-1.5 million dollar range
