I agree with everything you said except about the amount of money you can make. If you put in the time an effort you can absolutely make as much as a full time job. Now obviously everyone’s opinion of the amount of money you make with a full time job will be different. For example I’m sure a lot your subscribers are making $400-$600 a week and that’s 40 hours a week. You can most certainly make that especially if they use the exact steps that you showed with the scanner, the listing the card from someone else’s listing and investing in a label printer which all save a huge amount of time. Great Video! 🤙
@@TRIKESportsCardshey I know it’s been 2 years. But I still can’t figure this out- the only way my cards get attention is if I promote them, which when I’m selling 100$+ cards, takes around 20% off. It’s just never worth it for me. Any way to fix this?
Hey, just another tip on the ebay envelope, is that it includes tracking so instead of getting refund requests for low dollar cards that don't arrive, as long as you ship it, it goes on the post office if they lose it.
Great video Troy! Recently I have been going to my local card shop and going through the $1, $5, and $10 boxes and I have flipped them for so much more than how much I got them for. I definitely recommend trying this for new collectors and even people that have been collecting for a very long time. I got a 2019 Topps Chrome Sapphire Kyle Tucker for $5 and sold for $100!!
Yep. I do this as well at my local card shop. They have so many cards that they basically just wholesale them. I found a bunch of 1988 coca cola Micheal Jordan for $1. I bought about 15 of them. I seen those sell $10 and more. I have invested in a lot of $1, $5, even $10 and they're selling for more than triple the price. The best way to sell is do it in bulks. Make sure it's players people recognize. Do like a 10 or 15 card lot for $30. I bought about $600 worth of Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey mantle, Bob clemente.etc for $30 and another $800 worth of cards for $50. Each . All together I had about 130 cards. Lot of cards were worth $30-$40 bucks each. Some were going for $200-$300. I thought they were fake because "who's gon sell these Hall of famers from the 50s and 60s for less than $100 but sometimes you find guys who just sell them really cheap
Every other weekend I go to card shows and pick up a bunch of stuff from quarter, 50 cent, dollar boxes etc and list them on eBay in bulk. Nobody is going to get rich but I get an extra $50-100 a month to spend on food or something for not really doing too much
One thing to add to this is, you must list a few things at least everyday. I have noticed when I do list I get more traffic and sells. When I go a few days or a week even my sells drop off! Very good video, I think investing in a feed type document scanner may increase your efficiency as well!
Penny sleeve the card, card saver (sometimes top loaded cards USPS kicks back), put in team bag, put in a Thank You card where you can buy 10 for $1.25 at the Dollar Tree.
Keep forgetting about putting in a card. Another good/cheap way to get cards is at 'after Christmas sale', when big boxes of x-mas cards are sold for dirt cheap like 75% off.
Hey guys! Hope you enjoy the video. Once again just want to emphasize, this is not a "get rich quick" or "easy money" method. There's risk and even with the tips this will take up a good amount of time, but I do think if you're willing to put in the work you can have some success.
love the instructional video!! only qualm I have is the way you're showing people how to ship. Using a top loader in an envelop is the WORST way to send a card. First off, the post office sends them thru a machine, ive seen too many instances where the card was eaten up and permanantly bent because of that. bubble mailers with proper protection is the way to go. If you HAVE to cut those shipping costs, use CARD SAVERS not TOP LOADERS....either way your spending money, but card savers dont have rigid siding, so they go thru the machines better.
QUESTION ----->. if you are just sending them out in a standard envelope...... how to you deal with "SHADY BUYERS". that claim I DIDNT RECEIVE MY ITEM?
Great video. We’ve collected Pokémon cards for a few years and just moving in to Sports cards. We have a lot of lower end cards just say there that aren’t wanted. Just struggle to find the time to get round to starting to list them. We deffo need to just bite the bullet and start.
Excellent video, thank you for sharing. I can appreciate you taking the time to scan your cards properly and have them generate additional income for you. I can't wrap my head around some of the crap pictures people post on eBay of their product and the prices that they're asking for something so poorly represented. So many eBay sellers are just lazy and don't want to put forth the effort to be or look professional.
Very informative I’ve had my eBay card shop going for 2 months now and only sold 20 cards in that time period hopefully I can sell enough for the scanner 🤞🏻
I'm really impressed with this video and your videos in general. Thanks so much for making things easy to understand. As a newer card seller this is exactly the kind of info I needed. Cheers.
@@ffbuddyguy8159 I think you were talking to me, so if you weren't sorry I just thought I'd answer. I'm very new to card selling. Got in this June after I saw a lot of people trying to sell and I LOVE a down market. Only problem was that I haven't really looked at cards since 1992. lol. It's going ok, I got burned a few times buying junk wax, which is what I had in my garage anyway, so I just have more of it now. I would say this channel was really good because it didn't talk only about million dollar cards, it covered the basics. I probably list about 50-100 cards a day and it's super fast. I know some people buy scanners to speed up the process, I'm not buying enough to make that make sense. My goal is to only buy cards with card profits. I didn't start like that, I probably put in a $1000 because like I said I only had junk wax. The cliche is true though, go with what you enjoy. I'll stop here because I can go on forever. To answers your question though, it's going well, I'm basically breaking even right now but growing slowly. 1. Pick your card niche. 2. Buy a thermal printer as soon as you can as it will save on ink and printer paper in the long run. 3. Pick your place to sell, I like eBay, but there are many places. 4. Set a budget for buying. 5. Do some research. Compare eBay prices to wherever else you may be buying from, this will give you an idea of how cheaply you can buy for. I sell more than just cards, the money is usually made when you buy. 6. Visit a card shop/card show (I'm still yet to go to a show myself!!!) Use the research you did earlier on eBay to see what they sell things for. 7. Enjoy yourself and take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt. Everything I do seems to adjust daily because I'm so new, so I'm sure others will have more knowledge than I do, so make some contacts and talk to people. Good luck and have fun!
@@ResellerNiche I was asking you ! :) Thanks this is exactly what I wanted see. I'm in about the same boat as I stopped collecting around the same time and I'm out of the loop.
The part that confused me was when you said you use the scanner to take pictures of four cards at a time, and there is no cropping. Well, if there are four cards per scan, wouldn’t you need to crop that photo to sell as individual listings?
I buy and sell this stuff all the time, fun hobby, make a few bucks, build a collection. Capitalism, business, and fun all at the same time. Good luck buyers and sellers, keep the market alive!!!
How bout printing directly onto the envelope like with any ink jet printer? No one ever talks about that. Every printer has an envelope slot. Just in ur printer settings set the size of the envelope a d the label prints directly onto it.
Can you explain why you do $2.99 shipping. Do you use eBay standard envelopes? Do you explain like a shipping policy. If so what is it. Thanks a ton in advance !!
Hey man, I’m a big fan of this video and your content and I was wondering if I could make a similar type video of flipping low end through eBay. With credits of course.

At the minor league team stadium in my city the AAA Tides there is a car dealer that goes there every day I believe thay has $1 grab bags and there’s 20 cards per pack so as I’m 16 I normally buy 10 packs per game so I have a lot of cards collected

Awesome video thanx for the knowledge. I just have a couple questions. Do you, use international shipping? Cuz I have a lot of soccer cards as well and figure they’d sell faster with an international fan base? Also how many raw cards can fit into the standard envelope shipping without issues?
If you get Windows Fax and Scan there is a preview mode that you can enable that will highlight the borders of the top loaders of all 4 cards. You then click scan again and it will do all 4 on 1 click.
