I’m just gonna comment this even though no one is gonna probably read it. To be clear RIPPING WAX IS NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT. I got extremely lucky, and don’t recommend it to anyone as a real way to make money (which I’ve made clear in pretty much any video I’ve ever made on the matter)
Did you buy the select box yourself or was it included with the PSA promo?
I've ripped so much wax/blasters this year. not one card over $10. I'm gonna start ripping way less now.

Thanks! If I remember correctly that was the low-end flipping video. I still think it'd be mighty hard to full time flip cards exclusively out of dollar boxes. But with content and some more expensive flips I've been lucky enough to make it work!

How is that a10 with an upside down auto?
As a collector who enjoys opening cards, I tend to lose money and take the enjoyment as payoff. An occasional endorphin hit is nice too, but the overall money spent VS money earned is typically in the red. However, the targeted collector side of my has consistently made money. It also helps that I started collecting (again anyway) at the right time in 2017. I have a lot of Judge, Ohtani, and Soto that anchor the value of my collection. I've also made good money by buying raw cards that look good on the screen and then taking advantage of grading specials from PSA or SGC. Vintage has been especially good for this.
It goes beyond hobby and becomes work, but it's not bad work once you get good at it. With the hobby appearing to still be expanding, it is still worth venturing into.

I like to rip wax, but it's not the best way to make money, although it is super fun when you do!!
100% agree, I actually even recorded a 1 minute voiceover explaining how bad ripping wax is but it was too long to leave in

I have never sent in cards for grading. A tip on how to/what to look when deciding what time send in would be incredible (assuming you don’t have one in your uploads lol).

As far as I'm concerned, the only way to make money on cards is to buy low, and sell higher. Chris Sewell has a proven strategy. The hardest part is being able to appraise/price/negotiate bulk lots.

I run a biz. I crack magic the gathering boxes then sell singles. I can do it profitablity. 100k+ sales a yr. I've tried to transition to sports cards. I've had no luck. I don't think it's profitable at all UNLESS you can buy single cards at 50%-60% of market value or sealed product at 70%. The other way is to buy sealed and hold it for 3+ years then sell. Rinse and repeat.

I went to a local card show and was rummaging through the $0.25 bin and found a Clyde Drexler Team USA card from Skybox.
Gonna send that in for a PSA and hope for at least a 9.

Troy...say it ain't so...PSA provides you with a nice 'hotbox' to rip in their exclusive VIP lounge...you happen to pull that gold J Love auto...give it to PSA to grade onsite and it comes back a 10...big surprise there!...and then you put it in PSA's vaulting service...I get it, a low key sponsored video for PSA but man, you've always been one of the independent good guys, not one of those d-bag sports card influencers, hope you're not selling out man, that would be a real shame.
I'll always speak my mind and do what I want to do, authenticity is clear anywhere on this channel. But taking sponsors is the only way I can afford to produce these videos, if taking sponsors is selling out. Then I guess I'm a sell out
