Small adjustment, the cursemark doesn't unlock Renna's rise. It automatically unlocks when Ranni goes to Nokstella to continue her journey. I know this because I have no sense of continuity and got the cursemark while I was taking a break from fighting good ol void boy. Your content is hilarious, keep it up
Yeah the cursemark isn't even a part of Ranni's quest, it's just that doing the death questline has you working with Ranni and instead of giving you the statue as a random gift she gives it to you saying "this will take you to what you're looing for" it was really interesting hearing the difference between serving her because you have to compared to when you want to
It is interesting to see how the lore ties together, Ranni has you evade taxes and oil spills, while Maliketh evades the topic of returning my damn lawnmower
Correction: The Baleful Shadow you fought wasn't Blaidd, Iji trapped Blaidd in the evergaol Darwin was caged in and you can head there and confirm when Radahn is defeated
Plus, while the shadow uses the same weapons and armor, it's blade has destined death imbued into it, whereas Balidd's normally has frost, further suggesting the two are entirely different people. Plus, once you complete Ranni's quest(the specific requirements are a bit unclear, ranging from picking up the Dark Moon Greatsword, to only needing you to walk through the barrier in Astel's boss arena that is unlocked by the Dark Moon ring)you can return to find Blaidd having defended Ranni's rise from Black Knife Assassins, but he's gone mad and attacks you, even if you never let him out of the Evergoal. If you speak with Iji after finding Blaidd in the Evergaol, he tells you that some Empyreans are given Shadows that are entirely unable to betray their master. But, in the case that an Empyrean resists the Two Fingers, their shadow will go mad, implying that the powerful shadow is meant to then kill the Empyrean to prevent any threat to the Greater Will from happening. But Blaidd, being the goodest boy that he is, is still able to hold himself together and know that he must protect and serve Ranni no matter what, he just tragically becomes unable to recognize you as an ally and attacks, thinking you are a threat to her. Ranni mentions that the assassins of the Two Fingers are the Baleful ShadowS, plural, meaning that they must just have a lab full of test tube furry babies to wake up and send out on missions when needed. Blaidd just happened to be given so early in Ranni's life that he developed a genuine bond with her, so when the brainwashing kicks in, he can resist it and not hunt her down, forcing them to send the backups.

I got the Ranni ending without even realizing what I was doing. Sometimes I didn't get to play for a whole week and that's just about long enough for me to forget what going on in the game. Basically I just wandered around fought stuff until I got to the end and there was a blue summons for Ranni. Okay, you're welcome Ranni but I still don't know who you are or what you want.
Same first playthrough I did the whole ranni questline basically by accident then accidently ran into a place called forsaken depths and got a little too curious lol.
You are genuinely the first UA-camr that has made me laugh out loud in years. I’m super stressed right now because of finals but man you really make life easier. You and your content are hilarious and amazing. Thank you.
Every single video you have posted since the dung eater is just a masterpiece, i find myself watching them 3 or 4 times just to see if missed any edit, love your stuff!
Good video, even though I think there was a bit missing in regards to Blaidd. When you go to Nokron, you can find a message at the hole. The figure of Blaidd shows up and reads something like 'there's a traitor taken care of. Don't wait for me, head to Nokron. I'll catch up.' Then go to Iji, you can ask where Blaidd is. Iji will tell you that Blaidd has something else to do. Go back to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. You'll hear a howl and Blaidd will tell you that Iji put him in there. He doesn't know why but wants you to release him. Go back to Iji and ask him why Blaidd is locked away. He will then tell you that he thinks Blaidd is a threat to Ranni. Also the Blaidd mask you can find behind Seluvis' Rise (?) says that the assassins sent for Ranni masked as Blaidd, so I don't think the baleful shadow was Blaidd, but what Ranni said. An assassin sent by the Two Fingers to kill her.
Vaati has been real quite lately mostly because these videos go very hard and are actually canon and are true. Thanks for the lore m8. Can’t wait for the next one titled “What’s The Deal With Farum Azula?”
Guessing that most players wouldn't care because of their love for Ranni is right, but some of us most players don't care because we're attracted to the Darkmoon blade and loyally committed
I loved her questline and the NPCs involved. By the end of it I was incredibly emotionally attached to a good portion of them and had experienced a solid portion of the game through her quests. 10/10 would recommend
But did you get your lawnmower back? More seriously good video and memes, some point to correct however: 1 The bateful shadow is not blaidd but an assassin send by the two finger who disguised himself as blaidd (you can find his black wolf mask). 2 Ranni use the fingerslayer blade to kill her designed two finger, the one who washed his hand too many times. Thus allowing her to be freed of her fate designed by the greater will, being the next vessel for the elden beast. But allowing her to enact her fate as a carian and daugther of Rennala of the full moon, and being able to free marika from her fate and yeeting all outer gods from the lands between and shielding the lands between of their influence. And finally, getting herself among the stars with her consort (you lucky fellow) to put the fight to the outer gods, kicking their asses in their own realm. 3 One important part, it is Marika herself who sent the black knifes assassins to kill Godwyn, probably to enact her galaxybrain plan to free Ranni's influence of the greater will, free Melania (her secret daughter) influence of the greater will as well, allowing Godfrey to burn the Erdtree later with the help of Melania and killing Maliketh, Radagon and the Elden Beast, negating the influence of the greater will, maybe she even expected Ranni to enact her destiny, freeing the lands between from all outer gods influence forever. Problem, you did it and not Godfrey as it was planned.
First two points are absolutely correct but what are the sources for the third point? We know Marika is Radagon (though they had differing plans apparently), but from what we know I thought that Marika seemed distraught over Godwyn's death?
It is stated that the Black Knife Assassins had close ties to Marika, and hailed from the same land of the Numen. Though it is never explicitly stated that she was involved with the death of Godwyn, it could be the case. Marika was certainly pulling a lot of strings and directing events behind the scenes in many aspects, but I don’t know about that one.
So Miyazaki both knows players loathe poison swamps, but he "can't help himself" and he "suddenly realised I'm in the middle of making one". "It just happens". (17:43)
So anyone else think that maybe one of the reasons a lot of people choose to go with Ranni ending is because one of the first things you are told is you don't have a maiden? I know most players chose Ranni end from a pole I participated in, but it would be funny if there was a sort of subliminal message to pick it
It also is a proper questline. Default ending is just kill bosses in your path to end the game. Dungeater and Fia are harder to follow. Goldmask requires specific build (or respec) and doesn't feel like it is going to affect ending or.. anything.
Honestly I think most people pick it, as it’s portrayed as the most “correct” or at least the most “appealing” ending. A long/fleshed out questline, “happiest ending” (debatable), Moonlight sword (one of the best and most iconic weapons of the franchise), interesting/lovable side characters (Blaidd, Iji), locked/hidden areas (that may take longer to reach or impossible otherwise), and of course marriage. With as much effort that fromsoft put into Ranni’s questline, I really believe they intended it to be the canon one. I personally only did it for the sweet, sweet items though and could care less about Ranni herself.
Bruh, this is literally the best elsen ring lore video I've seen. I realised i only did like 10% of rannis questline stuff so thats why it felt so rushed. Everyone speaks in riddles so i zone out and end up skipping a lot of stuff lol.
I love your style of talking. It's really chill, and somehow still manages to be hilarious and entertaining. I can totally just chill with some chips and watch your vids.
Simple explained: The deal with Ranni is, do her Quest to get her stuff, then bless the world with the fell curse in the dung eaters name. Defile them with care
I'm surprised not everyone knows of "flame, cleanse me" it's an incantation cures all debuffs, all of them, simply equipo that and your favorite casting item and you can go through any posion/blight/etc. infested area easily. Works better if you have more fp.
This game has so much shit. When he said there was more to Nokron, I thought he was gonna mention that you can light the flames in the forest to fight that deer boss. I had no clue that there was an entire other city you can access for another whole quest line.
I got her ending yesterday and it was so fun and worth it. Took me about 13 hours to complete. Blaidds great sword is so OP I honestly like it better than the dark moon great sword
I'm probably making this my go-to ending just like I made lord of hollows my go-to in ds3 because by comparison Ranni's story/ending feels so much more unique than the other options in the game
The english dub and sub of Ranni's questline has a lot of errors, which may lead to think that her ending is bad, when it's actually pretty good and selfless
I mean, the English voice lines are the OG, right? Hard to know which parts were written originally in Japanese vs English (since GRRM helped writing the script). So for all we know the Japanese subs might be wrong / more ambiguous.
-hear's KH Virtual Twilight Town battle theme in background while still 4mins in video- "Wait, why is this in there?" -realized it fits for breaking the fourth wall quickly like meeting Ranni sooner as Roxanne figured he's in virtual simulation-
When a video is so good that when I was going to hit the like buttom I realize I've already hited it some time ago. Watching for the 2nd time and still enjoying it.
You're funny. But what got me to sub is the fact you're apparently the only creator on UA-cam able to pronounce "gaol" properly. Keep it up, young man.
Her quest line is also mistranslated. Basically, she takes the greater will to fly around space so it cant control the lands between anymore. She is the true hero.
This is false. The translation is done by professionals and is translated for sense. It is not a literal translation. Ranni's ending is still worse than the Age of Perfect Order.
The first version of Blaidd you fight is actually a desguised assassin, the reason Iji imprisioned Blaidd was to stop him from going crazy like he did the second time you fight him.
Tark I’m starving for the Fia quest line video!! I do have to say subscribing to your channel helped me get the job I’ve been wanting!!! My resume is fire now and it’s all thanks to you

Just one note, baleful shadow isn't Blaidd. It's one of the assassins sent by the fingers. Might be good to note this is your personal understanding as a good chunk of the lore plot of hers was incorrect in some places. I still died laughing many times.
Hey, dunno if this has been said already but when picking up the Ranni doll and resting at the grace. You need to talk to the doll three times, then it will trigger a dialogue sequence.
Actually she used the Fingerslayer blade to kill the Two Fingers that she was sitting on in the Church it was the Two Fingers that she was tied to and the ones that controlled Blaidd also he is likely Rannis half-brother like Malekith is Marika's cause just like Malekith is Marika's shadow Blaidd is Rannis and where Ranni devolves her Stepmother Marika she was probably setting her free cause Marika betrayed the greater will when she destroyed the Elden ring and the God's imprisoned her for it in the Erdtree and made her their mindless slave and to destroy the Golden order and the Elden ring fully to make way for her order of the Moon but you summed the story up pretty well and in a funny way XD

Blaidd's head is really his head tho, not a mask. The mask you can find is a disguise from the black knife assassins.
pretty sure it was a joke
Yeah, Blaidd is a shadow, and shadows are always dogs, like Marika's shadow.
@@YamiAi What was Serosh then?
@@leonslaw5722 He was called a beast. Looks like a lion.
@@leonslaw5722 no idea but only empyreans get shadows like blaidd and maliketh and Godfrey is although extremely strong just a regular guy
Small adjustment, the cursemark doesn't unlock Renna's rise. It automatically unlocks when Ranni goes to Nokstella to continue her journey. I know this because I have no sense of continuity and got the cursemark while I was taking a break from fighting good ol void boy. Your content is hilarious, keep it up
Also... Blaidd's head is actually his own. He's not wearing a mask.

The dragonkin boss fight in the siofra river well can actually be reached by one of the warp gates you can't only reach it by descending the bridge.
It is somewhat hidden tho as it's up a column in an area with vikings who will be shooting at you. So I understand why a decent bit of people miss it.
You can get to Ainsel River Main via a coffin in Deeproot Depths too. That’s how I got there the first time, just to go to Renna’s Rise and teleport straight back
Damn, for me it was the opposite. I defeated the valiant gargoyles and found the coffin that brought me to the deeproot depths

What I love is that blaidd isn’t actually a furry is is literally a wolf man
isn’t that just the ultimate furry though, like Furry GX, Secret Rare Furry
The only real furry in The Lands Between is Dung Eater. Not only does he imitate an Omen (his armor is literally an Omen fursuit), but he tries to make that everyone is blessed with an Omen curse.
Damn, your vids are useful, full of lore and full of those sound effects i freaking love

I've been absolutely adoring your Elden Ring content. One of the only channels that makes me laugh nowadays, keep it up.
Guessing that most players wouldn't care because of their love for Ranni is right, but some of us most players don't care because we're attracted to the Darkmoon blade and loyally committed
I did it for Blaidd, since he's such a good boi.
In version 1.0 the darkmoon greatsword is actually dogwater, but now that i've updated my game its my fav weapon
It's probably the best and most powerful "Moonlight Greatsword" in all the souls
I loved her questline and the NPCs involved. By the end of it I was incredibly emotionally attached to a good portion of them and had experienced a solid portion of the game through her quests. 10/10 would recommend
But did you get your lawnmower back?
More seriously good video and memes, some point to correct however:
1 The bateful shadow is not blaidd but an assassin send by the two finger who disguised himself as blaidd (you can find his black wolf mask).
Man, the second point essentially is just bloodborne. But you start as a god that hunts other bigger gods.
The first two points are correct but where did you come up with the third point
Are you high on Elden Lean ? That third point is complete madness 🤣
I have come back to watch this video multiple times, it’s so good and funny! That’s canon, it’s in the lore.

I love the fact that this video is basically a walkthrough to Ranni's Quest
Great work!! 🌠
Goldmask requires specific build (or respec) and doesn't feel like it is going to affect ending or.. anything.
I just really like the sword

Simple explained:
The deal with Ranni is, do her Quest to get her stuff, then bless the world with the fell curse in the dung eaters name.
I had no clue that there was an entire other city you can access for another whole quest line.
there are two deer bosses in that area!
I got her ending yesterday and it was so fun and worth it. Took me about 13 hours to complete. Blaidds great sword is so OP I honestly like it better than the dark moon great sword
I'll have you know my husband is an *actual* werewolf, he definitely *is not* just some dude in a costume.

I hope you resume this series. I really wanna see what happens with Fia’s questline’s ending
