I just learned today about Mason's version and I was like "Ive heard this song!" Shows it's a good song when different artists can have success with it.
LOVE this song ! I haven’t heard it in years! I heard it on my Spotify playlist today and my poor neighbors had the pleasure of me singing along with it. 😂😂😂. GREAT SONG
He added his own spin to the song, while doing the original justice. Great job. The actress playing his girlfriend in the video makes me think of a young Joan Van Ark.
I forgot about his music until her was mentioned on Facebook. So many great songs lost in the shadows now of great forgotten music! You wonder what these singers are doing now?
This song reminds me of my failed marriage. After my divorce my x-wife wanted to date and try again, but like the song said "We don't see eye to eye". Heard this song today and it hit home hard.
My exwife left town for 6 months just packed up and left then came back and wanted to act like it never happened. That was a hard lesson in the people that are closest are the ones that can hurt you. So be careful who you choose.
As far as vocal & lyrical talents you won't find better than Billy Dean, every song is an emotional journey in time & nostalgic memory. Still listening & loving your heartfelt music Billy, God bless brother from Australia.
I like this but I miss the background vocal which I always used to sing on the original while I was driving. I was a junior in high school when the original came out in August 1977. I never heard this version until now.
I remember Billy. I remember in August 97 Mom and I went 2 Wally World (Wal-Mart) here in Marshalltown and got the Billy Dean Tape with the song on side 2. I remember I sang the "Whoa A Hoh" part and I remember in early 98 I did the "Whoa A Hoh" part while I was at the Braille School in Vinton Iowa in my room at the dorm Palmer 1 West and I remember I did my "Whoa A Ho" part in the Spring 98 and I remember the introduction of the song the guitars did that part 2.
OMG thank you so much for making this remake my parents got divorced during the original of this song by Dave Mason. Thank you so much for reminding me. No, seriously, this has so many beautiful memories of childhood for me with my bestie.
Billy is so animated and a great singer. I hadn't seen him on TV or anywhere in years. I was such a fan of his in the 1990s. I think he looks like Patrick Swazi. That makes me sad because Patrick is gone. Watching videos of Billy's songs January 14, 2024.
Been away, haven't seen you in a while How've you been, have you changed your style? And do you think that we've grown up differently? Don't seem the same, seems you've lost your feel for me So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me and we just disagree I'm going back to a place that's far away How 'bout you, have you got a place to stay? Why should I care when I'm just trying to get along? We were friends, but now it's the end of our love song So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me and we just disagree
I think that’s a smart gesture because you don’t get along with one person and or have disagreements shouldn’t make you or the other out to be bad people it just means too many differences
Personally, I prefer this version, and think I always have, as it seems to have more snap, let us say to it, compared to the Dave Mason version from 1977.
miss hearing Billy Dean on the radio 1980's and 1990's were magical
God I wanna relive 1989-2000 over
Love this man’s singing!!!🎵
Billy never got the credit he deserved. Great artist with great music
Are u stunad?....he didn't write this kid
Loved the Dave Mason version, but Billy does it justice.
I just learned today about Mason's version and I was like "Ive heard this song!" Shows it's a good song when different artists can have success with it.
Man, I just love this song. It's the best version--so musical, so clean, so tight. Perfection.
If you think that this is better than the original, then you have absolutely no ear for music.
The vocals aren't better but the tempo and guitar is.
@@michaeleastham3868Dave Mason's is far superior.
@@michaeleastham3868I like both versions, but I love the guitar solo.

I love this song lyrics. We shouldn't hate or fight...we just disagree with each other. PEACE in the world 🙏
Thanks for this song
You are a favourite to me. Love the voice and the tunes.❤😂❤😂
I love this video.

Love this guitar solo
Dang he was hawt! Even with that luscious mullet🥰
I remember this song when it came out and recently heard it on XM!
So glad I did!
Great singer! So underrated!
So is Dave Mason...the best version. I do love Billy Deans too. Tis a gr8 song.
All versions have there own style and are great!
Memories through the years being a child playing while parents were getting drunk and these country goldies playing in the back ground
Dam this song is fire.
This is a love how about a man and his mullet.
Great song heard it on the radio earlier tonight
Such a GREAT song!! Keep making your music Billy Dean!! You’re such an amazing man & singer!!❤️❤️❤️
BILLY DEAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN COOL GREAT SONGWRITER AND A FAB SINGER
it really hit home for me 30 years ago after a failed 3 year relationship. Really resonates with my current marriage. Love & miss this
Heard this on my Serius Car Radio today, wow, missed it!
Lol me to. Some country station that plays 80sand 90s country music
On sirus radio
I forgot about his music until her was mentioned on Facebook. So many great songs lost in the shadows now of great forgotten music! You wonder what these singers are doing now?
I like this cover, loved this song back when it was on the radio regularly when it came out.
This song reminds me of my failed marriage. After my divorce my x-wife wanted to date and try again, but like the song said "We don't see eye to eye". Heard this song today and it hit home hard.
I'm with you..Same for me
I’ve been their !
My life right now!
Hugs 😢

Sounds fantastic
Great job!! One of my favorites!
Great song
One of the greatest "country goes soft rock" covers, right up there with Travis Tritt's cover of Take It Easy IMHO.
Great song! I love that 12 string.

Come back Billy!
Music that meant something….cant be found anymore
I like the original
This guy sucks

Love this song one of my favorites also like his song If there Hadn't been You
Love your version of this song with you and your guitar you've got an amazing voice
Bravo!
How are you doing in Nashville Billy? I haven't heard from you in years.
OMG thank you so much for making this remake my parents got divorced during the original of this song by Dave Mason. Thank you so much for reminding me. No, seriously, this has so many beautiful memories of childhood for me with my bestie.
I love the original but this is an excellent cover.
Tempo on this is a little fast for me to believe that there's much retrospection in the mind of the vocalist. It doesn't seem... poignant enough.
I LIKE THE DAVE MASON VERSION BETTER.
@@brianmclaughlin7780 I like them both!

I remember hearing the song in the Spring 94. I miss hearing from Billy. What happened 2 him?
1994 was an awesome year!!
Sadly, he died when he tried to jump over the Grand Canyon in 2002.
He ain't dead he still is active making music today.
First time hearing this version, it’s pretty good and I’m not a country fan. I love the Dave Mason version.
💜
Pack it up
Now in his 50's and still going strong🎶
Not a bad remake!
The road not traveled...........
I think that’s a smart gesture because you don’t get along with one person and or have disagreements shouldn’t make you or the other out to be bad people it just means too many differences
💜🎵🎶💜🙏💯
Jackie and Jake argue sometimes but always love each other and make up
You are a bad guy
This is one of the few times for a copy is actually better than the original. And I like the original a lot
we thank billie fore the mini concert during covid and neal McCoy did the same
Getting a Patrick Swayze vibe here 😂
Personally, I prefer this version, and think I always have, as it seems to have more snap, let us say to it, compared to the Dave Mason version from 1977.
Both versions are really in theor own right
It's supposed to be a poignant song not a "snappy" number. Dave's singing shits all over this.
Not written as a country tune
I like both but I was in college when Dave Mason's version came out. It got played alot!
It's time to leave it alone and just vote! Stop the hatred and division!!!
Black guy listening if America took this to heart America would be great again
how's that working out for ya?
This didn't age well
@@XDWX You are so right. Our country becomes more divided daily. It's so sad.
@@joannah511 Yes it is sad! Only gets worse!
Not bad for a remake
I like Dave Masons version better but a good job.
only one Dave Mason...
Weird AF...not song writer
