Hey, I know that trail. Right about 2:23 there is a way into a trail we cut around 2007 or 08. It takes you through the rocky wash and out where you started but on your right.... brings back memories
Having personally had a 300 and 250 at the same time, I feel like I get more enjoyment from the snappier and lighter feel of the 250. I am quite an experienced and quick rider but I’ve never actually timed myself across many situations and terrains to know which I am actually faster on. I feel like I would be faster on the 250 but who knows really. Sometimes there are situations a little more grunt off the bottom like a 300 gives would be nice but the freeness, lighter feel and slightly higher revving nature of the 250 outweighs the low down torque and leads to greater enjoyment and excitement for me. Hence I’ve kept the 250 and sold the 300, nice to have both but got other bikes to ride as well and hence don’t need two bikes that are essentially very close/similar.
250 all the way i have a 2012 ktm 250xc and my dad has a 2014 300xc and while my engine was getting done I rode the 300 and honestly I liked the 250 more snappier more lively engine and for 15 years old me I'm about 150 pound its got tonnes of bottom thing doesn't die put it in second and go and for the faster stuff the 250s rip best bike ever for fast stuff and it will do the knarly u just gotta have more clutch and better throttle control that's my opinion at least
After (3) 300s and now putting 200 hours on my 18 KTM 250 I prefer the 250. The fun factor is higher and the bike just feels like it wants to be revved. The 300 always feels so flat. I find the 250 is great off idle in technical stuff and sometimes, the smoother delivery is actually easier in nasty stuff. I like the quicker revving more responsive feel personally.
Hard to beat a KTM smoker off-road period!! I like the torque of the 300xc but I know the 250 is snappier. Personally I'm a 300cc. fan as it's more of a tractor.
Great video Rado! I have to agree with your assesment on the differences between the 2 bikes. I have rode my 15'Husqvarna TE300 back to back like this with Steves 13'Husaberg TE250 basically the same bikes except for the PDS on the Husaberg and linkage on the Husky and CC's of course. The Husaberg is sprung for higher weight but still felt great to me just stiffer. Both are fantastic bikes and I would ride either and be quite happy, haha. In my opinion get Both, haha! The Flexx bars are incredible Rado. I can't believe you don't use those haha. Cheers Rado!
I’m new to dirt bike. 200 hours total 3 bikes 3 years. I’m interested as to why you are “staying off the clutch”? My understanding is riding fast requires more clutch not less.
You use more clutch for slower riding, like hard enduro when you need more control over the power, but when you go fast you don't even need the clutch. I went to an mx training day and the guy said don't bother using the clutch when changing gears.
One of best ever comparison. For me you can ride on xc300 like xc250 just control a throttle and gearing. But little loose aggressivity what you can take from 300cc. And aslo differences is in Carbs.
I ride a 09 250xc, in the PNW in the technical gnarly stuff when it’s slick, the smoother bottom can actually be an advantage when it comes to traction. Plus less vibration for us pre-counterbalanced folks.
250 sounds like you're in the powerband more often and sounds more frantic. Honestly seems like you're faster on the 250 but that may just be an illusion...Slow is fast and all that.
250 seems to rev-little higher because of the smaller displacement the 300 rev a little lower but seems to have more low end that’s what I see through this video
comparison starts at 13:00 (back to back riding before)

great info Jayden, thanks a lot for sharing!
250 all the way. i have both. more usable power and freer revs. it gets my endorphins flowing.
thanks for the feedback Patrick, best is to have both ;)
What do you mean “more useable power”? Thanks.
@@chadrides914 use more of the bikes potential. i can rev it out and be more aggressive safely.
Amen...

makes sense, thanks for sharing Bryden!
Agree 250 no question!

great feedback, thanks for sharing Glenn!
I closed my eyes and could tell when you were on 300. Less rpm, less frantic compared to 250, not that it was really screaming. It’s noticeable.
thanks for sharing Jim, appreciate it!

Totally agree, thanks for sharing Jeff !
nice comparison , would take any of them, would like to have one sitting in my garage ....... fun riding, cheers V!
Thanks Verdon, get one for sure! 👍
Hi Rado! Thank u for the comparison!
No problem 👍
ARE THEY THE SAME SIZE OR IS THE 150, 250, & 300 DIFFERENT SIZES FOR DIFFERENT PPL?!!!!

Nice comparison video mate.👍
I'm looking at getting back on a 2t after many years on 4t.
I think the 300 is the bike for me.
Cheers 🤘
Go for it Glenn, you will love the power!
I really enjoy your videos, and I agree with your thoughts.
Glad you like them! thanks David!
Even though I ride a 2T 250... I'm a bigger & older rider with mostly tight terrain, I'm pretty sure I'll go with a 300 next.
you would like that extra power on the bottom

I was staying off the clutch to test the bottom power and how well would the bike lug up the hill

TPI vs Carb?
check @dirtbiketv they did a video on it last week
300 seems to lug harder and your able to hold the 250 in the power range better but horses for corses they both have there strengths and weaknesses
yea, both great bikes!
Another awesome vid Rado! I would love to hear your initial thoughts on the new 2022 YZ125 & YZ250☺️
thanks Simon, I am hoping to get one for the review. working on it!
@@dirtniron Thanks Rado! Can’t wait to hear your expert opinion. Hopefully they update 125x also!
If i could have 2 ktms's id have a 250xc and a 300xcw. One for speed and one for slow tech.
Yes it is better.. and if you put one of the performance heads on it you'll never miss your 300
thanks for sharing, this one had it

yea it likes to be on the pipe..

yea, that sounds right!
Both are great.
absolutely!
Your riding looked smoother on the 250. You might be faster on the 250.
yea, 250 is smoother
hi 🙌
Selling a 300 xc for a 250 xc? Kinda moot point.....
This is Sparta...300
haha, thats right
What is that ugly back tiers? :O Jikes dont look good xD
haha, yea.. but they work really well
@@dirtniron name on them? Work Good in the Woods also?
4 stroke sounds so much better
sounds different, I like both
Anyone who says 250 over 300 lies lol
:)
I have a 250, never ride on a 300. But top riders all use 300, must be for a reason. Greetings.
