I love new animal mums' expressions when they've finished giving birth, everyone is cleaned up and had their first feed. They look at their babies, then up at their human, with a "look what I made!" expression 😂💞

I adopted a Gila mix. The people that had her were about to put her down, but I got her just in time. I actually go to an animal shelter to help animals in need like these.

I'm sorry I couldn't bond with these beautiful dogs and then send them off to another family! I would end up having a farm with 1000 dogs on it!!!!
That sounds sweet but realistically that would probably be a nightmare for the dogs. I'd rather help 1000 dogs find 1000 forever homes.

@@clarissastasinski6494 Oh I do! I send money monthly to the local ASPCA here. I'm just saying my love for dogs is so incredible I just would never be able to let them go! I take care of my mom who has Dementia and that is 24/7 job and I wouldn't be able to handle anymore than the one chihuahua i take care of now :)))
we bought this female dog for our dog once to make babies and give us something that stays with us even longer... she was CRAZY. she bit everyone and everything (for "fun", she is a german shepherd mix) for a year, she was *loud* , always excited, hyperactive and sometimes reaaally annoying.. we were worrying what happens once she gives birth but then! once she gave birth she became the most caring, calm and loveable dog ever. we gave a few away but kept 2 and they have been together (and with her mom) every single moment for the last 8 years. I still thank her every day I pet her for being such a good soul.
Some of those pups actually looked blue - at least to me. So darn cute. I could watch videos like this all day every day. Thank you for helping Bailey be the happiest dog ever. ♥
The blue ones are called Blue Heelers. The breed is the Australian Cattle Dog.

When they started playing the flowerpot the owner must've given up on keeping the garden tidy real fast! The puppies win. :)

I rescued a pregnant feral pup 7 days before she delivered 8 pups....poor mama didn't know how to play....i taught her puppies, she learned from them.....she was a great mama.....all puppies got great homes....I KEPT MAMA.....she had been feral, then, into my home to have babies, could not send her to another home....she is a delight....

When pregnant you tend to mellow out and not move around much..Having the pups must of been a breath of fresh air! All that weight gone, no more burdens, she was then free to play and run and be all puppy like again :)

I think foster parents are the most loving and the strongest people bcuz they help so much but can also let go. Im too weak, something i couldn't do.
I will never not be amazed by the birthing and maternal instinct of animals. They have no advice, no counsel, no book to read, nothing; just the natural sense to do it right and not mess it up.

Our family grew up with Great Danes in the 70's, and when we had a new litter to play with, it was a beautiful thing.
I would give anything to revisit that time, even for a day, to be with Piper, Sandy, and my Mother. I will now wipe away the tears of joy....

You have to be strong mentally to foster ..And not foster fail .. A kitten made her way into my yard and into my heart .. I fed her and waited patiently for her to get close to me physically .. She's such a sweet kid .. She began waiting for me morning and night to feed her .. And then I was able to pick her up .. Her eyes are huge and trusting .. I had to carry her to her mom who had other rescues . I was so tearful .. But thanks to her mom she's exploring her new home .. And making friends with the other rescues ..

At first I was like " these puppies don't resemble their mom at all" then boom 💣💥 their mom's characteristics came out.
Mum looks like an Australian Blue Heeler Cattle Dog mix. A very energetic working dog that always needs something to do to wipe off their excess energy. A couple of those pups have inherited the Red Heeler strains, of red marle coats rather than blue marle, from mum's hereditary.
Yes Heeler pups are born white white with their dark spots only then blue in at 3 to 4 weeks..I raised them 20 years ago..only have one now she's a red..

Yes.. I was curious about how they are and the fosters when you take them to a new home. It must be hard, especially for the doggies. I am such a sap. I would not be able to give them away. 😁😂🤣
It is a tough thing but what makes it easier is thinking that either keep them and make one dog happy or give it away to foster many over time and thus make many happy.
As a currently pregnant woman I can so relate. So weak droggy and tired But once the baby’s out, you get back your strength as if by magic. And the joy takes over you ♥️

She’s an Australian Cattle Dog, aks a Blue Heeler (the red coloured ones are Red Heelers). They’re called Heelers because of how they herd cattle- they’ll nip (not too hard, just enough) at the heels of the cattle, then just drop down straight away to avoid any incoming kicks.
They’re amazing dogs- one of the most intelligent breeds, but they require both physical and mental stimulation. Which makes them great for agility and the like. Because they’re working dogs at heart- they are intelligent and active and want to please their person, who they are intensely loyal to.
They’re also one of the base breeds for the Australian Shepard (which was actually bred in the US, the Australian part came from the Heelers and I think also the Kelpies they used, and they also added in Border Collies I think).
Heelers are the most common dog in Australia. It’s been interesting to see them becoming more and more popular in the US. That being said- they need room and a LOT of exercise. They’re the type to turn quite destructive without it. So they aren’t good for apartment dwellers unless they also go out for two runs (not walks, runs) per day. But they are also very easily trainable, because of how extremely intelligent they are.
Sorry, I know you didn’t ask for an essay on them- but there you go. They’re amazing dogs, my favourite breed. And yes, I grew up with one. She was fully trained as a working dog, but she was also the much loved family pet. She lived to 15, which a pretty common age for ACDs, though the purported oldest dog ever (20-something) was a Red Heeler.
So if you have the ability to give a Heeler what they need, they will reward you with being the most loyal, fun, sweetest dog you’ll ever meet.
Also, I just love looking at the patterns in the fur of a Blue Heeler- reminds me of Van Gogh paintings. They’re just so amazingly gorgeous. Truly pretty dogs.
