I had 2 Goldens. Loved them both. Lucy lived to be 12 Abby only 8 both died from tumors. Wouldn’t want to ever give up our time together. But told my husband I didn’t want to go through the heartbreak of losing another. No more dogs! Until we stopped to donate to our local animal shelter. There was what looked like a young Golden. My husband was in love! The lady said they got him about 2 days earlier. No ID of any kind. She said he had been trained, nurtured and housed broken. She kept him for us for two weeks and no one claimed him. So he was ours. We named him, BISCUIT. I was determined not to loved him. 🙄 Right. Turns out he was a Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix. Best of both breeds. All of the characteristics of both. We lived on a lake in the woods. CHIPMUNKS & SWIMMING! He brought us so much joy, love and companionship. He was there for me when my husband passed away. 2 years later I lost Biscuit. He was a gift. And, YES, my heart was broken again but He was worth it. These dogs are very smart and I suggest you take the time to train them. You won’t be sorry. They will love you forever. 9:31
Your right, just sometimes wished I’d staggered them a year or two apart, ours are coming up on 5 months of age and can really test your sanity at times, but with that said I wouldn’t give up either for the world. ❤
Best Dogs Ever!!! I had one named Tank. Actually he was a lab retriever he lived to be 14 he was the most amazing dog I have ever had. Miss him like crazy❣️❣️😢
Best dogs on the planet, they are truly Angels from heaven. They love anything and everyone. They only have love to give and they give it in spades. I miss my River, he was family, and I miss him dearly.
Love Goldens. The sad thing about the breed is that they have such a short life expectancy. Common heath issues are hip displacement and a 65% chance of getting cancer. But even a healthy Golden only lives between 10 to 12 years. When ours passed, it was devastating..... Can't go through that heart ache again.
Goldens are such great dogs! Our Sadie May was a working therapy dog visiting our local hospital for 10 years but mostly she was our constant companion. She crossed the rainbow Bridge last year at age 15 1/2 and we miss her very much.
Our Golden, named Moose (Bonnie Blink’s Gold Sovereign) lived until age 14 plus. He was English lines thus taller and sounder than most most here in US. We have a small farm with a creek attracting ducks and Canadian Geese so he was in his glory. He was loved to follow my horse on trail rides.❤
All dogs would live a lot longer if their owners would feed their dogs less kibble where most of nutrients are baked out to extend the shelf life, to totally or at least mixing in raw uncooked organs such ground up hearts, liver, marrow and kidney. We have a friend that has a medium sized mixed blue healer that is just has turned twenty years old that she has had from a puppy . When I saw it six months ago, it was moving around like it was a lean middle aged pooch . I asked what she fed her dog and she said that she’s fed the dog raw organs preprepared by our local butcher all it’s life . She said what little more she spends on this food more than out weighs what she would of spent on vent bills if she hadn’t. Just wish I had known this with all my past dogs . Most stores are now offering packaged raw organs and marrow in separate coolers for dogs and cats . Saw this even in a Walmart and on line .
if your dog is constantly chugging your shoes: he's just looking for an object with your scent on it, find something to sacrifice and your shoes will be safe
My second Golden died 18 months ago at age fourteen and a half years In perfect health unto literally one week before her death when she sadly developed a brain tumour causing us to have to put her to sleep Once again broken hearted to lose another golden beam of sunshine in my life The dolphins of the dog world, always happy.kind and loving I would love another but age and a recent mild stroke seem to tell me no..right now... BUT
When I was a kid we had a golden retriever mixed with a cocker spaniel. So so cute but definitely got the retriever part because she was obsessed with tennis balls. Also eating shoes and clothing. They are such adorable dogs. Alot of work but adorable.
I have an Irish setter male and three Irish golden females , Irish male and Irish golden female are parents to other two Irish goldens I am 68 years old and they are the best dogs i have ever had
My favorite Golden Retriever thief story is about when we brought a pizza home and put it on the counter, we would come back a minute or two later after having gone to the bathroom, and sure enough...there would be only the pizza box in the corner with our 110-lb dog George just finishing the remaining remnants of our dinner...my goodness...Goldens are indeed the biggest food thieves...also, when our kids were toddlers and just old enough to reach the table...sure enough...they would turn their head away from the table, and of course, one of our two Goldens would snatch away a large portion of their food.....definitely the worst food thieves on Earth...otherwise...the best!
My daughter has two golden doodles . One is a great dog. The other is crazy, ha ha. She would just die if she couldn't lay in a ditch full of water and roll in mud. Both are sweet, one is 80#, the other is 70#.
At about the 1:35 mark, that's not quite how the rules of the game go. It's simple really, the dog wants you to throw the ball, AND he also wants to keep the ball at the same time. Sure, it's obvious to us humans that it's impossible, but as intelligent as Goldens are, they just can't recognize the paradox of these two conflicting desires. Look, I said I would explain the rules, but I never said they would make logical sense lol.
Our neighbors had a pair of goldens. Lovely dogs around people, but when it came to other dogs----all hell broke loose. The female golden used to come to our porch enclosure, lean on the doorbell, and ask to be let in to play with our dogs. Everything was fine until she pushed in the porch enclosure----glass all over the place and almost $10,000 worth of damages. The family put their house on the market, moved across country, and then we found out the heartbreaking news: before they moved they had the two dogs euthanized. The male was four and the female only two. We would have taken the dogs into our home and adopted them, but the people never gave those dogs a chance.
Goldens are all over UA-cam. They're wonderful but many have expensive health issues. Puppy mills are working overtime. The best dogs are the ones in shelter waiting for you to say hello.
Our stupid Golden would chew stones and break his teeth. He would whine if his tennis ball rolled under a patio recliner he could reach under and retrieve the ball. This would go on for awhile until our Staffordshire terrier got tired of his whining and she would come over, grab the ball and drop it in front of him.

You get to spend some time with them, that is all. If you can accept that, it helps.
Our golden, Ulysses, had a long and joyful life for over 17 1/2 years. He was delightful and the sweetest companion.
As was my sweet, adorable Goldie Penny - born on Valentine's Day! So appropriate for a loving, caring doggie 💕😍❤️💕😍💕❤💞💞💞💞💞🦮🌹
They are one of the cutest breeds ever 💝🐾💝🐾💝
What could be better than a golden retriever? Two golden retrievers.
Dos are like potato chis. You can't have just one.
Your right, just sometimes wished I’d staggered them a year or two apart, ours are coming up on 5 months of age and can really test your sanity at times, but with that said I wouldn’t give up either for the world. ❤
ALL OF OUR Goldens, all 7 of them have lived to the age 16 years & older. It's the breeding & the time you invest in this wonderful breed
Best Dogs Ever!!! I had one named Tank. Actually he was a lab retriever he lived to be 14 he was the most amazing dog I have ever had. Miss him like crazy❣️❣️😢

Goldens are CUTES ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I always get the feeling from goodies that they know they are very smart ,but just prefer acting a clown. ❤️🐕❤️
I'm not sure if my Golden is just stupid or he is acting stupid.
I miss my little sis so much. Can't wait to have a golden baby again, they need lots of space time and love, so working on it. 😌🙌🏽🙏🏽

He was born to be a star 🌟💫 How funny and extra cute 😊❤❤❤

"Heaven is a place you go where all the dogs you ever loved, run to greet you!"
I feel you my friend, but I'll still get them until the day I die!

Mine was 16 passed in his sleep
One question, how do you know the Canada Geese in your creek are Canadian?
This dog breed has hilarious personality!😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
The "squint" when they have done something wrong is hilarious!
The flowerbox clip was hilarious! I have a 5 month old Golden now!
Had 2 ! Oliver and Charlie! Had yellow Lad to Lex! All Wonderful Puppy's! I loved them some much.
Looking forward to seeing more adorable content from you
One of these clips happened right in front of me while the video was playing! They really are too funny!!

They are entertaining goof balls, I know my one yr old is. 👍😁
My last dog was a Golden. We had over 15 years together. He was, absolutely, my best friend. My next dog, when I am ready, will also be a Golden.
The snow😂

Jennybertenshaw. Sending you health dear soul. Hope you recover very soon xx
❤️
Sounds like you need one of those dogs that visits children in hospitals to cheer them up.
Know anyone with a golden you can "dog-sit" for?
Brain the size of a pea, heart bigger than the sun. Though my golden speaks spanish and reads Shakespeare!
I was lucky. Both of mine lived in excess of 14. The latter was two weeks short of being 15 when he went to heaven
Heaven is a place you go, where all the dogs you ever loved , run to greet you.

Cock Retriever?
I have two Goldies. One, is energy driven and will pay at a drop of a hat. The other, the senior, takes life much more sedately. Yin and Yang.
Sweet doggie dogs !! Woof Woof !!

They are lovely animals and the clowns of the dog world! I'm very fond of them, but my heart is owned by the German Shepherd.
All day everyday. Best dogs around

this makes me want one lol
You will never regret having a golden as long as you can provide long walks and companionship!
Goldens are the best.
YES!!!!!
Grandioso
I like golden retriever
Such cute little nerds
I'm pretty sure they fake being dumb so they can get away with more mischief. It's my theory anyway.
Typical Golden Retrievers. We are on our third set of two.
The squint when they have done something wrong, and they know it!
My golden is slightly smarter than a bag of hammers.

RIP Oslo Tommy's dog
His IQ is on strike😂

Never did, never will.
I prefer my dogs to be healthy. I'm a little old-school.
