    thanks for the informative video and nice to see the progress with the software. Still have a few questions but the first important one is, what if i want a 4.2 Setup (2x Front Channels, 2 Rears, 2 Subs) how does that work and do i need switch the Alignments when i want to listen Music without the rears. Have still so many questions sorry, but i will wait till more videos are produced and some reviews & tutorials are online ;-)

      According to the manual inside the software, these are the supported multichannel configurations currently:
      > MA 1 supports the alignment of multichannel monitoring with 4.0, 5.0, 5.1, 5.1.4 and 7.1.4 system layouts. Up to four individual subwoofers can be assigned to each LFE channel. Select the appropriate option for your system.
      Where it lists 4.0, the 4 is the amount of speakers, the .0 refers to the number of subs. (So 4 speakers, no subs.)
      You might be able to do this as a 2.0 (or 2.1 with sub) set up in the front, and a 2.0 setup in the rear, and even a 4.0 quad setup with the multichannel license, so you can customize and toggle the setups as needed.
      And if you got a 5th speaker, you could do 5.1 with the sub!😊

    I have the 420 and I plan to implement two 750dsp subwoofers. Is this possible to align both subwoofer system or is this not possible?

    @GeorgNeumannGmbH thank you for the video. I understand that data is uploaded to each individual loudspeaker. However, can we still utilize the KH 750 with Left and Right analog speakers like trusted and known KH 310, and complement that stereo MA1 setup with additional Neumann DSP speakers? I mean for me it makes sense that KH750 can take care of L and R speakers as before, while additional channels can be added with newest DSP models. If you say it is not possible, that is a major step-back for existing owners to choose multichannel upgrade, and likely something that can be corrected within software. If that is the case, can we expect this feature to be available for KH 750 owners. On the long run for me and many other existing clients a KH 750 with stereo KH 310 and additional KH 80 monitors should be a realistic goal.

      It is planned to use the analog monitors in a multi-channel setup in combination with DSP monitors. To do this, you will need a KH750DSP for each analog monitor.

      @@GeorgNeumannGmbH would both subs be active making this 5.2? Or are you placing a sub in line purely to calibrate the other KH350?

    When the DSP processor is built into kh 310? Because it’s an absurd situation that you have to buy a subwoofer to be able to calibrate. Thanks

    I would like to create a 5.1 MA1 aligned system with a mind to slowly expand to 5.1.4 and then eventually 7.1.4. I would like to keep my existing 2.1 dual KH310a and KH750 DSP system and add to it. If I had a dual sub KH750 DSP system would I be able to then add a KH150 for Centre and two KH80 for my rears? Would I be able to switch between Dual Sub 2.1 Stereo set up and Dual Sub 5.1 with a software profile? Also how do all the speakers communicate with the software at once during the calibration process is there a recommended ethernet hub adapter where I can connect 5 speakers via ethernet and then plug that into my single ethernet port..... do they daisy chain together how is this part done? Thanks

    I have some questions. Is it reasonable to use 11 kh80 and 1 kh750 to build a 7.1.4 system? I'm not sure because kh750 only has stereo bass management. And I couldn't find any relevant instructions in the user manual in the backend, and the dealers in my region also don't have such information. Who should I contact?

    And ive another question wich the support didnt realy make clear after some mails. When i want to use 4 Channels & 2 Subs (2x Front, 2x Back, 2x Subs). As Pre-Amp i wanted to buy something like a Marantz AV7706. The Support only tells me that when i use this, i need to select the ,External Bass Managment, on the Subwoofer wich makes zero
    sense or ? Is it even possible to use an ,,normal,, AV Pre Amp from the Homecinema Section ? I only want to use my 2x KH150 & 2x750 and want to install 2x KH80 for the Surround Back Channel.
    I know its new, but it would be great if there is some more informative Videos & Articles about it, what exactly is possible and how you use it because the manual also dont show this way of using the MA1.

      Hello, and yes!
      Different variants are possible here:
      1. all speakers are connected directly to the AV Receiver. The receiver should then take over the bass management for all monitors. The subs are connected to the LFE output from receiver and could also take over the bass management for the satellites (if the AV Receiver support Bass Management)
      2. each KH750 receives the L or R signal on one input and outputs it to the connected monitor with its own bass management. The second input from the sub can also play back the LFE signal. (There is a diagram in the manual describing the possibilities very precisely)
      Depending on how the sub/LFE channel is to be processed, set the CHANNEL B INPUT MODE switch to EXTERNAL BASS MANAGEMENT, LFE-MODE 1 or LFE-MODE 2.
      - EXTERNAL BASS MANAGEMENT reproduces the full range of the "Sub" channel via the subwoofer (preferred setting for already encoded signals or a mixing console with bass management activated). Set the speakers in the source system to "Small" and the crossover frequency to 80 Hz.
      - LFE-MODE 1 reproduces the LFE channel up to 120 Hz via the subwoofer (preferred setting for film mixes). setting for movie mixes, pre-encoded mixes).
      - LFE-MODE 2 reproduces the LFE channel up to 80 Hz via the subwoofer and above 80 Hz via the connected center speaker. the connected center speaker. This means full-range monitoring for the LFE channel (preferred setting for music mixes).
      We hope this helps!

  • @rockingxmasman

    So, how does it work with „external“ bass management?
    Actually I’d prefer to use my two kh750 for 4 channels - bassmanagement of L and C on one sub and bassmanagement for R and reproduction of LFE on the other

    I have many questions that could probably be answered by looking at the user manual, but on the Neumann website the only manual available for download in my user area is for MA 1 v1.7. When will an updated manual be released? Or do I have to purchase the multichannel extension to have access to that manual?

    What is the smoothing level that is applied to the displayed measured result? Does Neumann not consider it ideal to offer an unsmoothed response with a step to more optimally place speakers based on that data?

    • @GeorgNeumannGmbH
      @GeorgNeumannGmbH  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi there! So, we believe you are referring to the very last page, where it shows the result? The white curve with the dips is an average between the measured speakers (as a cohesive setup.) Dips and curves are completely normal, and it's actually counterproductive to be completely flat due to phasing alignment adjustments that are made during the alignment. It’s also completely normal (by design) to not see a flat line here - MA 1 by design is taking room character into account and applying that to the speaker setup.

    • @Hexspa
      @Hexspa 9 місяців тому

      Thanks for your reply. I understand that a flat line is not ideal but I mean what MA-1 displays is what's known as a "smoothed" response. I.e., it's a somewhat lower resolution version of the measured information.
      From what I know, a user can benefit from an "unsmoothed" or "1/24th" smoothing in order to dial in the placement of their subwoofers and monitors. If you are familiar with Room EQ Wizard, this is the nomenclature they use.
      If I was to guess at what MA-1 is displaying, I'd say it's a corrected version of the average of the total number of responses it requires. While this might be appropriate for a broad overview of a room's tonality, my experience tells me it's suboptimal for the earlier stages of room arrangement.
      I humbly request your engineers consider adding an unsmoothed or lightly-smoothed response because it can help the end user first get the best placement out of their monitors before finalizing and applying EQ. Maybe MA-1 can even guide them through the process give that it knows the dimensions of the room. Thanks. @@GeorgNeumannGmbH

    This is good stuff. And it looks like there's some profile system for the measurements now? Does that mean you can do a second set of measurements (e.g. for over on the couch) without deleting the first, and switch easily?
    Regarding the layouts, will you make it a bit more customisable than these four options for how many speakers you have? A "Custom" layout option would be great.

    • @GeorgNeumannGmbH
      @GeorgNeumannGmbH  9 місяців тому

      @@GeorgNeumannGmbH Thanks, I've just got some KH 150s set up with the alignment tech and I'm rather happy with them. I already see new options available in the software. And I'm glad to see local files for my profiles that I can back up and transfer as needed. I'll be very pleased if you can continue the steady software improvement.
      I do have a couple personal requests in that regard:
      - option to tune and manually adjust a speaker more individually (I am unfortunately closer to a wall on one side)
      - debug info/tools for the ipv6 connection as it is extremely flaky on my main PC and I'm not sure why

      Thank you for your interest in our brand-new Multichannel Extension. The software has been available to retailers for several days now. However, it may take some time for dealers to make it available to customers and put it on their webshop. We kindly ask for your patience; more shops will follow soon. When searching for new offers in your region, it may be helpful to check several search engines.
