I don't think size is a con for Jimny as a person who lives in the mountains maybe for city people it might be 😂 it's a huge plus for us
Exactly. If alto is the queen of hills. Then, jimny is definitely the king of hills. Due to their practicallity in mountain conditions.
Size is a pro also for tier 2 cities where narrow, bad roads and traffic is common

For me its Size is plus point.I live in a Sikkim a mountainous region.Its good for me to go up in small curve areas too.Sometimes I travel in capital with huge traffic where I find very comfortable to pass over and park.

Jimny looks cute on road feels like more of a daily commute car and rear seats are comfortable enough compared to thar , Unfortunately Thar has become the symbol of chapris , Jimny any day if you want an all rounder

Being Chintu Mintu is all about a good offroader. Being light weight means you do'nt get stuck in tricky situations

@@sudharshanve8519 Plastic toy?., most modern cars have plastic which isn't bad, is actually good. Speaking of the Jimny, it ironically has very less plastic, even gets all dependent leaf spring suspension and body is so hard and boxy it barely has any crumple zones. IC, no offence, but all you told was almost gibberish, How does the price fall out with no buyers have anything to do with it being a bad off-roader or plastic toy that's why it has no sellers? The whole point of price fallout was simply because it's overpriced and no one buys it which is why they thought of keeping price down to let some buyers experience it, that doesn't have anything to do with it's capabilities. Also buyers not buying a car becos it's overpriced have no relations with the car being trashy, that's no logic. You can't say hypercar sucks since no one buys it India, just cause no one is the buyer isn't that it does it's job badly. By that logic Polo GT TDi is a worser hatch in performance than Figo TDCi. Honestly Jimny is great car as a capable off-roader, but it's a lame bad option as a family or enthusiast car, insensible, and why would you want a hardcore off-roader with medicore specs for a price when you don't need to go mad off-roading even if price drop is a bargain for this limited period, I wouldn't be buying that either. Which is why it's of no suprise on why it has few buyers, though it's still a fact that it's a great off-roader, better than the real plastic competitor by M&M in off-roaders.
@@johndavidson3424 🤣🤣🤣. Ur meltdown was cute only to reiterate my point that it's overpriced for what it offers, which is basically nothing. But that doesn't take away the fact that Jimmy is more a plastic toy than Mahindra Thar. As a matter of fact, at least Mahindra chassis gets side impact beams from doors and rear and hence better safety. Unlike Jimmy in which these things are alien. And if a car doesn't have crumple zones then it's a bad design period. A proper off roader comes with differential locks. Leaf spring suspension is a1950s technology. 😂😂😂. The modern technology of proper off roader is all independent McPherson Struts. Anyways Keep up with ur toy Jimmy. Real off roaders prefer cars like Defender, Wrangler, Bronco, Land Cruiser and G63. Was so excited and test drove one. Except the ride quality and the cute looks, it didn’t pull my heart strings.
Strictly a 2nd car for lifestyle purposes and I was looking for that only.
XP95 is indeed amazing, it smoothens the engine, better acceleration.

I am not an off road person. Although I like to travel in the mountains quite a lot. Creta does the job well. But I have to be cautious about the weather conditions. But the jimny seems a strong alternative considering it's size as a plus and being a 4x4. Great job Maruti for not trying to take away Thar customers. They only care about road presence rather than road practicality.
Maruti jimny pros & cons was so accurate and so informative .
Its size is its one of the biggest pros! As it make it easier to drive in small paths in jungle camping and offroading.

Jimny is a lighweight mountain goat that won't cause a landslide on risky terrains!
Maruti Suzuki should have priced Jimny as the Brezza with the lower models starting from under 10L. It would have sold like hot cakes and would have been quite helpful for the population living in hilly/mountain terrains.
12.74L for base variant costing almost 15L on-road is preposterous. Jimny in no terms meets the value-for-money proposition at the price point.
This makes Thar 4x2 and 4x4 lower variants look better.
Thar's pricing is bad too.
Thar petrol base variant costs 16L on-road while Thar Diesel (base) costs 17L.
But then again Thar is a rich-boys' toy.
It carries on the legacy of Mahindra Classic.
Lastly, if Thar 5-door will ever be launched, it is going to be in the range of 20-30L.
Please keep in mind that hardly 1% of off-roaders in India ever go off-road while most buy it for the looks and road presence.
Just like all Royal Enfield customers buy those with Leh-Laddakh trip on mind while only a fraction ever see that happening.
Actually all of thar's 4x4 variants are priced higher than jimny's 4x4s, if you compare manual to manual and auto to auto.

I waited for jimny for like over an year but sadly it has no power, no features, huge price for a car of this size, no safety - so i ended up getting skoda’s kushaq 1.5 and i love it
6 air bags , 9 inch touch screen , power is same as international variant. It’s has power equivalent to Brezza. This is more than enough for all off-road unless you tow and if you tow you need at least 300hp. Size is a boon. It’s the only car with head light washer , better suspension than that. Low body roll etc. body roll of that is just too much and engineering is sub par. Jimmy is much better at off-roading than thar. This is the best car imo but price should be atleast 1 Lakh lower.

No it won’t, Thar 5 door will be very expensive while Jimny is priced very attractively…Jimny will still sell more
Then it won't be a sub 4M suv and would be almost 3 lakh more expensive after tax
But then thar would be starting from around 15-16 lakhs and go up to 25 and it is damn expensive because in base model their is fucking nothing to get so yeah
Then the price will go higher too, with a lot more variants to justify the increased price then it'll be fun to see the reaction of those "jimny is so overpriced"

Some are saying that Suzuki is thinking about updating Jimny power and torque figures considering so many are complaining about its engine being underpowered.
Nope!
Driven 4K manual on all sorts of roads. The auto is lazy. The manual performs darn well. Engine has sort of opened up after the initial run in and wow what a hoot this car is. I don’t stress much on the ‘underpowered’ tag anymore coz it’s so much fun. Both on and off road
Hey fais I think when you test the driving of car that you should do it in city and also in highway.... testing in city that we can easily understand the breaking, handling ect.
Genuine question! How does the size matter if you are using it off-road!? I feel smaller the better! Unless weight is less there is no actual use of power since the vehicle will anyway start to sink into the mud in off-road ! So point of having 30 bhp extra with super heavy weight doesn’t make sense! I will not be making any fastest record! So not really worried about power… I want to buy Jimmy to keep the utility as priority but soo confused about the negatives !

It’s a mountain goat which needs to fit in a ghat road. In this regards jimny is best suited and a proper off roader with the right weight to power ratio…. These dynamics should be known and educated to new and prospective buyers… I don’t see any cons, it’s not half empty but half full with less chances of spillage….😊
