Maruti has done a great job with the Jimny.Its 'practical' hardcore offroader..Some people are bashing it for its small looks.Its based on a kei car..But most offroading people will understand the boon of being compact and the capability of Jimny..It may not sell like hotcakes.But its what an offroader should be..I hope Maruti will not adulterate that by launching 2wd variant just like some other brands do just for gaining sales..

if turning is hard and the turning radius is great like you said, then why would Maruti decide to keep a steering box. Is it something to do with its offroad aspect ?. Can you give an explanation like you did the science episode with JD in Talking Cars(just a request).
my personnal fav is THAR ( because it offers good perfomance on onroad and offroad) But the jimny is just fantastic for offroad,maruti could have a offered slightly powerfulk engine,so that it can be used for highway cruising at good speeds.Still i love THAR because it is an allroundr, no offence to jimny owners and lovers
The one such lifestyle car that attracts me much is Mahindra Thar 3 door. Couldn't buy it as it's not a practical car for daily use, and can't really afford 2 cars..maybe some day ...
Its like Maruti knew that this is not going to set sales chart on fire. So they launched it at a price that should keep the dealers and themselves happy with good enough margin on each car.
I had driven the car for the past 1 month but I am not satisfied with the product because the on road manners are not good the engine is underpowered and the steering is not all good😢
I had the same feeling when I was driving it in the city. But the moment you take it off-road, everything changes and you understand what it is. It is a very good off-road car made usable for the road.

Why didn’t you mention about the suspension? Using jimny for 3 months….just love the suspension both on road and off road. Travel comfort with this suspension is comparable with premium cars 👍
The best thing about the Jimny is the ride, it's a tough little car that can flatten anything the roads here can throw at it. It's really nice!! But there are some severe shortcomings. I wish it had a 6AT, that 4 speed just doesn't cut it in 2023. The engine is always screaming and never settled. And it is totally lackluster and somewhat dangerous on the undivided roads of Kerala. Also, Maruti should have prioritised the cabin space over the boot at the rear. That rear seat right now can only be used by kids, actually the 3 door gets better rear seats. Throw in the overambitious pricing to the mix, and it's not easy to make a case for Jimny even with discounts which is like 1 lakh plus. And that is only going to go up after Christmas. Let's wait and watch how it unravels.

Manual transmission has less slip and is definitely faster.
