I have driven Jimny on road & off road. Jimny is very much a passenger friendly car . Thar is not at all a highway car. It bounces and pitches. Jimny is definitely a better all rounder. The feeling that our car is capable on any roads with comfort tilts the balance towards Jimny in a bigway. Change of tyre is a must.

Sold my Thar 4×4 /2022 after 15k kilometres and bought Jimny Alpha AT. BEST decision EVER. Also replaced tyres with 215/75/R15 Goodyear Wrangler AT silent track. As a traveller feels like attaining Nirvana.🤓

Thar having close to no boot space makes it hard for many travel enthusiast who carry luggage for a whole weekend trip with friends or families. Comfort is also one of the major aspect despite the suv look. Jimny rides much better in indian roads than thar. One can put a good AT tires to jimny and that will push off road capability much better.

Hey, suzuki is save our money... Maximum people use to change tyre according to their choise... Yokohama BFGoodrich.....etc...so you can adjust these stock tyres to buy your choice tyre... IF suzuki gives you AT tyres....Price will get increase of jimny....
I own Jimny and I have done Offroading multiple times (river bed, beach drive and rock climbing ) and I have done all these with HT stock tyres. Believe me they equally performed with AT Tyres where one of my friend owned 215/75/R15 geolander. You forgot to see they mentioned in stock Tyre with M+S which means they can perform in mud and snow too
If Jimny got more Horsepower and torque, about 160Hp and 300Nm torque and that too in petrol, because sadly diesel engines are dying out in India, Jimny could’ve had the crown for being the best offroader in the whole world. On other channels in foreign markets, 3 door Jimny almost went neck on neck with likes of Wrangler and G-Wagon.

Jimny looked way better and much more fun to drive on plains with mild mud, but once it encounters a tough terrain its stuck. Thar is a way better off roader, but Jimny is a better all rounder.
It's actually opposite jimny does better at offroading just change the tyres and cut off the electronic aids and the lightweight + solid axles front and rear is enough to humiliate other 4wd's

Jimny is feather light compared to thar so it doesn’t get stuck that easily and doesn’t require 300nm torque to get itself out. Remember gypsy? That has even lesser torque but has achieved more than any car with 300 or 400nm torque ever could in offroad, it just need lockers and it puts you diesel torque monsters to shame simply due to being lightweight. If you look at paper jimny has lesser torque than a normal hatchback so by that sense it would be horrible offroad? Again it won the kafc championship in india and has proven itself as a great offroader why that? Have you thought about the gearing ratios of the jimny? No i bet you don’t even know what that means! Let me ask you a question why does a tractor with 200-250nm torque(equivalent to a bolero) can easily move through exteme conditions that too with tons os weight where car with higher torque just quit? Specsheet and real world are different, jimny is not a new vehicle it has already proven itself to be a damn good offroader. Internationally people campare it with wrangler something a thar would never achieve

And one more point about maruti & suzuki is just another tin ka dabba. maruti has worst build safety quality with worst global ncap record among indian cars. the target customer of maruti are always middle class with mileage mindset. they even decreased the weight of some of their cars to increase mileage by reducing some high quality material from the body. so i wll never ever buy maruti cars & suzuki cars.

I'm a Thar petrol owner and had booked Jimny for it's 4 door praticality and fuel economy. However, when Jimny came in the showrooms, lookwise, I was not able to convince myself for it. Whereas Thar was love at first sight! In terms of comfort, the Jimny may be more composed on bad roads, but it's the power that drives me. Thar has insane power and driving on highways is bliss. Mind you, I have been to Ladakh and Sikkim from South in my Thar! Unless you live close to mountains, the majority of your drive is going to be on highways and it's the power that rules on highways. Jimny may be ok for 200-300kms but on really long drives, it's lethargic engine will drive you crazy on highways. I also found the seating comfort in Jimny not that impressive. It is typical Suzuki standard. Even though it has back door, the reaer seat has absolutely no thigh support and i honestly felt like sitting in a rickshaw. My Thar stays with me. You live once. Fun matters. And Thar is absolute fun to drive, both on highways and offroads.
@@ansalta1114 Thar's GDI engine is very sensitive to throttle inputs. You need to be light on the pedal to get max efficiency. On straight highways, I get around 13 kmpl cruising at 80 kmph. In the city, you can expect 9-10 kmpl. Again, it depends on the traffic conditions. If you are concerned about economy, don't buy the Thar. You'll more likely keep worrying about the average than enjoy the drive.
yokohama geolanders 215/75/r15 is the first mod everyone buying Jimny must get. Most people are getting anywhere between 4-6k/tyre for the stock tyres when you exchange them new.
Ngl man, I don't like the Jimny much, but the Thar fanboys make me choose the Jimny over the Thar every time. Thar owners are truly the KTM owners of the Indian car community.
30:35 well you can turn both esp and hill hold control off by putting the car into 4 low and holding on the traction control button for about 5 seconds. I had personally done this on my jimny and it certainly helps one out in stucky situations. btw love the comparison
The Mahindra Thar lacks basic features like rear wipers and keyless entry, and it is not a nice car on the road. In my opinion, the Jimmy is a proper automobile with typical characteristics found in Japanese cars. JIMNY is a well balanced card. ❤

Jimny is practical and gave its max potential with its off road capabilities..it lacks juice but it can give some competition to thar though ..imagine Jimny with more than 2L engine and off road tyres it will be a devil!!
Though Jimny has better features but I love Thar. They just need to launch a Thar XL with rear doors and some useful features as highlighted in video. Thar's higher stance and it's rugged look gives it an edge over Jimny.
Took a test drive of jimny a week back and trust me we were 4 people sitting inside, the car was not having any feel or feedback, the engine was supremely lack luster and you will be shocked to hear that it was giving 8kmpl average despite of driving it carefully, on the other hand thar has more punchy engine which indians want and has a better mileage, now talking about practicality the jimny wins because of the two backdoors which thar lacks in, so in india if you are thinking of buying jimny for daily commute or showoff please dont do it, thar is a much better option. (My pov)
