A first-timer should probably not attempt this on a precious kit as it can invite a high-penalty situation. Even with the assistance of those guide tapes the scriber can accidentally carve its own path in the hands of a novice modeler. Better practice this on something cheap first to get the hang of pressure, angle and such.

I've always been afraid to scribe or panel line my own gunpla. You make it look like a breeze. Great stuff.

Great work.. one day in hope to be able to this stuff...for now I work with clay...a lot more forgiving if you mess up..can always re-bake a little clay back on if you mess up
You turn already great kits into absolute masterpieces. Your videos have definitely inspired me to start scribing my own models. I can only hope to reach your level!! What do you use to edge your lines? Masking tape and the tape for curves doesn't work very well to keep my chisel on line... And packing tape always leaves a nasty residue...

"polly putty" is it poly(ester)-putty?
and what Laquer Putty use for?
yes. polyester putty. Lacquer putty are used to fill the surface with tiny air holes, scratches.

I have been looking for good tape to scribe panel lines but all people usually say is to use any thick tape. My problem is people at hobby stores usually didn't have any "thick" tape other than heavy duty tape from brand that has gorilla glue. That stuff mostly seemed to be like heavy duty duct tape that would be nearly impossible to finely shape since it had some plastic fabric in it or something.
You're videos are so helpful. I like how you show what type of tool you use. This is helpful for me to buy chisels!

If I may ask, why sand the initial surface if it’s already smooth? Does it help somehow with the scribing?

Do you actually just free hand the lines that you scribe? Or do you use a measuring tool?
I use a guide tape when I scribing.
How do you select where to add the scribe lines on the parts? What was the template used to draw the shapes?
I sketch on the parts until I have a design that I like. Search 'scribing template'

딱히 모델명이 있는건 아니고 인터넷에 디바이더 검색하셔서 핀교체 방식에 폭 조절은 롤러방식 디바이더를 사용하고 있습니다

And can i use sandpaper at local hardware stores? Or do i need to buy atva gunpla store.

I use hardware store sandpaper. It uses #600, #800 mainly.

I used putty because the surface is curved.

0.5mm 두꺼운 패널라인을 그으면 한쪽은 깔끔하게 파이는데 다른한쪽은 깔끔하게 안파이더라구요
혹시 노하우가 있으신가요?
'라인을 그어주는 시작점'을 한쪽 방향에서 어느 정도 그으셨으면 '반대 방향'에서도 시작해주세요. 한쪽으로만 그으면 반대 방향 끝부분에는 플라스틱 찌꺼기가 뭉치기 때문에 제대로 라인이 파지지 않습니다. 이를 해결하기 위한 다른 방법은 처음에 한쪽 방향에서 끝 방향까지 몇 번 살살 그어주면서 길만 내주고 그다음에는 끝까지 긋지 말고 반 까지만 그어주고 방향을 바꿔서 또 반까지 그어주세요. 그러면 중간 부분이 볼록해집니다. 그럼 그 볼록해진 중간 부분을 평평하게 긁어주세요. 말로 설명하려니 좀 어렵네요. ㅎ 그리고 그어보시면 아시겠지만 플라스틱 면에도 결이 있습니다. 어느 방향은 표면을 뜯어내듯이 긁고 지나가고 반대 방향으로 긁으면 부드럽게 삭삭 긁히는 걸 보실 수 있으실 텐데요. 그 점도 확인하시면서 작업하시면 좀 더 좋은 결과물을 얻으실 수 있으실 겁니다 ^^

라비님 영상들 보면서 퍼티류 세가지 종류가 보이던데 맞는지 모르겠지만;; 노랑색은..타미야 폴리퍼티같공.. 초록색은 피니셔스 락카퍼티같고...6:43초 쯤에 병에 담긴 폴리퍼티는 어느 제품인가요,,? 언급한 세가지 퍼티류가 다 쓰임새가 어떻게 다르나요,,?
폴리퍼티의 경우 타미야는 사용하지 않고 두 가지 브랜드 사용합니다. 피니셔즈 제품과 이 영상에서 나오는 Modo 사의 제품 입니다.
두 브랜드의 쓰임새는 동일합니다 (단, 피니셔즈의 경우는 두 가지 타입이 있어서 다르게 사용합니다)
이 영상에 나오는 녹색 퍼티의 경우는 피니셔즈 락카퍼티 맞습니다(일명 녹차 퍼티라고 하져ㅎ) 표면에 스크래치나 작은 기포를 메꿀 때 사용합니다. 하지만 넓은 면적을 작업할 때는 가끔 사용하지만 주로 작은 기포나 흠집 등은 순간접착제를 메인으로 사용합니다^^

I would make a a detailed ad-on, but then press it into polymer clay, remove carefully and then bake. You now have a simple mold for assembly-lining that detailed ad-on. You will probably have to clean em up w/ a knife and paper, but starting from a much better point. I have used this method when making extra neca godzilla heads. #time saver
Is it really necessary to sand before start scribing? Im just started scribing and my scribing tape does not stick that easily.

제가페널라인을그으면삐뚤빼뚤하더라구요ㅠㅠ라비님만의꿀팁이있나요?
라인이 삐뚤빼뚤하게 나온다면 아래내용을 원인으로 볼수있는데요.
1) 패널라인 가이드테이프의 상태를 보시고 직선으로 똑바로 뻗어있는지 미세하게 꾸물꾸물하게 휘어있는지 확인 해주세요. (가이드테이프의 품질 문제)
2) (중요) 처음 패널라인을 그을때는 최대한 손에 힘을 빼고(거의 패널라이너의 중력만으로) 여러번 그어주는게 중요합니다.
패널라인을 작업할때는 처음에 길을 내는게 중요합니다. 처음에 길이 삐뚤빼뚤하게 났다면 그 이후에 아무리 직선으로 그으려해도 의미가 없습니다. 처음부터 힘을 주면서 그으면 가이드테이프의 역할이 무너지기 때문에 직선이 나오기 어렵습니다. 아래로 누르는 힘을 빼고, 패널라이너 날 끝을 가이드 테이프쪽으로 살짝 힘을 주면서 자대고 연필로 선 긋듯이 가이트테이프를 따라서 살살 그어보세요.
그리고 패널라이너는 짧게 잡아주는것이 안정적이니 되도록 앞부분을 잡아주세요. 패널라이너를 잡은 손가락 말고 그외 손가락은 파츠에 붙이고 작업하시는것이 안정적입니다.
