NaturalMotion overcharges for the license and it’s difficult to integrate. Apparently, cheaper, similar software exists but, there’s a reason we all know the Euphoria engine when we see it: it’s better.
Not only that, but it’s taxing to run it to the extent GTA4 did. That’s why the game looked behind in graphics but the physics were 👌 Exactly why they cut out so much of Euphoria in GTA5, they can do more visually if they cut down those physical animation. This seems to have been made by someone who blazed through RDR2. You can stumble about when drunk (if you drink enough, but not enough to black out), although it's not as much of a ragdoll as RDR1. Enemies will also attempt to pick up their guns once you shoot them out their hand
In rdr1 there is also a knockout feature where if you get into a brawl you can put someone to sleep and after a few minutes they will get up to get back at you. Rdr1 also has a different style of writing to where all of the characters are fleshed out as they have good and bad things about them, whereas in 2 you’re always helping the good guys who are 1 dimensional and fighting the bad guys who are also 1 dimensional. Leviticus Cornwall is bad and that’s it, Edgar Ross is bad and offers introspection about the ability to flee a previous life and how burdensome the shackles are if you cannot feee them.
In rdr2 You can grapple somebody then using movement inputs and letting go of the person while moving you will throw the person in the direction you are moving

@@M3TAH34D ok.... You still only press one button to push. I didn't say that you wouldnt get into a fight if you push someone
Rdr2 enemies can pick their weapons up they just usually get scared and run away instead (or pull out a knife)
it really is a shame no one really uses the Euphoria Ragdoll system in games anymore. GTA4, RDR1, Force Awakens are the best examples, but I never learned why it didnt really catch on?
i thought euphoria was something from Force Unleashed only? it's fantastic, i miss it dearly in games
NaturalMotion overcharges for the license and it’s difficult to integrate. Apparently, cheaper, similar software exists but, there’s a reason we all know the Euphoria engine when we see it: it’s better.
@@paullucci i see! sad thing that it's so overpriced, similar to how monolith patented the nemesis system and now no one can use it.
Not only that, but it’s taxing to run it to the extent GTA4 did. That’s why the game looked behind in graphics but the physics were 👌
Exactly why they cut out so much of Euphoria in GTA5, they can do more visually if they cut down those physical animation. Though I personally prefer the physics and gameplay over looks.
@@ravenger5672 GTA IV graphics were good for their time, the lighting and car textures especially.
I recently discovered this when you are riding as Arthur in rdr2 and if you are going slow on your horse arthur will start singing
Crazy how many people try to defend rdr2. Like play rdr1 first, it's much better.
The mechanics on rdr1 alone make it not as good as rdr2. The graphics on 2 are definitely better as well. Going to Mexico is cool and we should be able to do that on 2. 2 is definitely better, story included
I agree. Rdr2 was a boring soap opera really.
You can still push in RDR2 by pressing the fire button without your gun equipped
This seems to have been made by someone who blazed through RDR2.
You can stumble about when drunk (if you drink enough, but not enough to black out), although it's not as much of a ragdoll as RDR1.
Enemies will also attempt to pick up their guns once you shoot them out their hand
Rdr1 is more spaghetti western and rdr2 is more realistic
This video just mentioned several things that are more realistic in RDR1 ...
@@FlamingElmoJust because it has a few realistic elements that are missing from rdr2 doesn’t mean that the game as a whole is more realistic.
@@FlamingElmoDebatable, people who got shot in the hand don't usually pick their guns up. Or anything ever again with that hand.
@@Shoxic666 They also don't run at you with a knife, in that same hand ...
@@FlamingElmo I'm speculating their reasoning.
I'd have made them just use a gun in the other hand.
You can push in rdr2 if you press RT/R2/Left Click while running towards a character, where as pressing circle you will tackle
Rdr1 kinda feels like the skyrim of western games
looks like it too
if people knew arthur the game wouldnt exist
You can also knock out npc's in rdr2.
Being able to push people in RDR1 and GTA 4 is so funny
There is pushing in rdr2
I know
That game looks better than we all remember.
You can still push people in rdr2
Causually shooting at red harlow at the end there.
In rdr2 You can grapple somebody then using movement inputs and letting go of the person while moving you will throw the person in the direction you are moving
That landing on the railing was sheer brutality.
The way he A Poses for a second once the drunk effect kicks in 😂
Nevermind it's a T Pose Marston 🧍🏻♂️
Im drunk as a skunk and twice as smelly. A cheat code I'll always remember lol
Bro just pushed buster Scruggs off the mountain
I loved the pushing in rdr1. pushing people into glass windows and off cliffs was fun
You can push people in rdr2 too if you run up to them and press right trigger (or whatever that translates to on pc)
man, this was such a good game for its time.
“It’s Arthur Morgan, get ‘im.”
Very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's rdr
Bonus: not falling off the damn horse
“HELLOOO!! 🥰🥰”
The physics feel so much better in red dead 1
man i remember watching my sister play getting drunk as john, he fell backwards off the table and she walked him outside only to knock the preacher on his way down, was laughing my ass off the entire time.
I miss the physics driven drunkness
The grabbing while falling is awesome
Everyone forgets about Arthur but remembers John.
0:30 the fact that he got shot in the spinal cord and still was able to move his leg and not be paralyzed is amazing
Your eyes are so comforting
The drunk mode in rdr1 was going to be added in rdr2 but got cut for some reason
It basically has the Euphoria Physics like from GTA 4
I miss the euphoria physics because I still think it's the best ragdoll system.
U can push npcs in rdr2 u just hold l2 while looking at a npc, get close to them and press ○ while still holding l2
Rdr2 has pushing but its more of a shoulder shove if ur near a cliff
u can push in rdr2.
U can get drunk. in rdr2
Yeah but being drunk in rdr1 is entirely different from 2
@@JohnGaceyyeah it's not physics based like rdr 1
@@GeicoGuy25I will say it’s more realistic in rdr2 but not as silly
Bro has the sharpen filter at 300%, eye stabbing level
you can push in RDR2 but you have to be really close to an npc to push him
you can also push in rdr2 but you need to have a running start before pressing your shooting button
the last one john more said for the guy take your time 💀
Great videos man
And the best thing of all, it has a great story, characters, and writing.
Same as gta4 cause they both are made in rage engine 4
Red dead redemption was a game way ahead of it’s time and it also paved the way for gta 5
love it when rdr protagonists go full JIM LAHEY on the booze
there is actually pushing but it works a bit differently
I fins them both equally great. They each have their strengths and weaknesses.
Thing I miss the most is firing from cover
Cant you fire from cover in red dead 2?
@ShadowLegend300 you can "fire from cover" But in rdr1 if you pulled the trigger without aim down sights, John would fire by raising his arm up without peeking from cover
first npc got no more children left in him
Rdr2's grappling is close enough to pushing for me
