@@robertcollett8073 because most people don’t constantly do handy work like that have a lot of fear to take on more complex jobs than changing bulbs and outlets. Requires at least an engineering mindset it’s not easy. In reality you really need experience for a lot of machinery because some screws and plates look the same and plugs and wires may be confusing to regular folks. Just my 2 cents, it shouldn’t deter you from it but it usually ends up happening like that.

As an engineer, I think it's disgraceful that they make the seal this difficult to remove. This has been a known problem since the first modern front load machines so you would think the design would facilitate removal and cleaning.

They want you to buy a new one it's all designed that way. Same with cars. My dishwasher went out a few months ago and the whole basin actually cracked on the bottom. To replace the basin it would actually cost more than a brand new dishwasher. We spent a little bit more money on a new one and we actually bought one with a metal basin instead. It's all designed that way. They want you to spend the money on a new one or a ton of money to fix the old one.

@@koi.in.pond3149 very smart to realize what you need to look for in a new dishwasher. It’s true that these machines are built to not last - the opposite of what many of us grew up with. I wish I knew then, what I know now. I would have kept my Mom’s old Kenmore washer and dryer!

My washer doesn’t smell stinky, and sour any longer thanks to your advice. Thank you so much for helping me! Thanks Derrick! Mine is the exact same model and color! Made the mistake of washing a queen sized comforter, shaking the heck out of it and it started leaking from under the catch filter, near the small drain hose. Cleared the main drain lines and the gasket drain and still leaked. Ran it empty with a ton of detergent to see where the leak was coming from. Ended up being the little rubber drain hose, it had a bulged and thinned out wall profile and one burst area, like a blown out bicycle inner tube. Thanks to you me and my best GF pulled it back from the cubby and took of the front cover to find the culprit. Pried the little hose off the pump with a flat head screwdriver and now looking for the replacement hose online. You are the best!

I bought a used LG front load washer. It just needed a new pump. After replacing it all by myself, I realized the bearing was shot. I ordered what I needed from Amazon then found out the bearing was basically welded to the shaft. We could not get the drums separated. All that work for nothing. I'm still using the matching dryer though. I think that if I ever get another front loader, I'll make a point to replace the seals every so often. Uch cheaper that buying a new one

Man I have a dryer. Looks similar to this body style. I forgot the brand. Something professional ? Well one day it stopped working. Doesn’t turn on at all. Decent with electronics. I do SMD soldering on airbag modules for when airbags blow up I clear the crash data from it. So I opened up the machine but the motherboard looks fine. Is there any other things you can help me look for. We ended up buying a cheap dryer in the meantime while I try to figure this thing out. If you can help please I’d appreciate it. And thanks
