I recently ran into a problem with my PS2 and have done a video on the fix *How to Fix PS2 Disc Not Spinning & Solder Mod* ua-cam.com/video/ZfFgFouO_uU/v-deo.html
If it’s a new tv it may only have HDMI ports. The easiest way to check is to see what inputs are on the back of it. If it does only use HDMI ports you could buy a converter that would accept the PS2 inputs and convert them into an HDMI cable that would plug into your tv.
If you can't see the picture, you can get to the right settings without looking by turning on the PS2, make sure no game disc is in it. Wait a few seconds then press down and then X, wait a few more seconds, then press down down down X. Then press Left X. That will put you on the right settings.
@@inderjeetuppal6462 It has really really small black bars on the sides. As in this video. All of modern tvs have that if they are properly set up with the tv as shown in the video. PS2 needs to be at FULL and the tv at FULL too Or 16:9 depends on the tv.

A plasma tv with component is ideal for a PS2 honestly. You can use a widescreen cheat for a game and it will still look amazing. Plasma and CRT screens do not have a native resolution, rather they have a cap instead.
legend! thought my new cables where broke, did'nt know you had to change the system settings. Shadow of the colossus looks awesome with component cables

Exactly right. I originally had to get these just because the fonts in some games were too blurry. These cables not only fixed that but improve the sharpness and clarity of everything else as well. It definitely makes me want to now get the best picture I can out of all my retro consoles.
Guys look, the ps2 only outputs in 480i and 480p. You cannot get "Hd" with component cables, with the exception of a few games. But overall, it's not possible, even with these cables, ps2 still looks like a muddy disaster.
Max Payne What you said is 100% *FALSE* , PS2 can output also 720p and 1080i using component cables, the only problem is that not many games have the option to run in that resolution. Gran Turismo 4, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria and Jackass the game (for example) are fully playable in 1080i, also GBA emulator (even if it's not official) can output at that resolution. Also Xploder in Europe sold a HD Upscaler disc, but games will be still in SD since they're running in their native resolution.
The Punisher5509 Your comment states that PS2 outputs *only* 480p and 480i, with exception of a few games. Your comment makes no sense. If you state that the output is only 480p then no game can exceed that limit even if it has higher capabilities (the aforementioned "few games"). It would make more sense if you said most games are only capable of 480p.
king wesker I'm not sure, the PS3 natively displays in HD resolution and upscales PS1/PS2 games yet I've heard because it does that it can make some games look stretched and washed out. There are a handful of PS1/PS1 scaling and color options the PS3 offers but I'd only suggest that if you already have a PS3 that is backwards compatible. It is much cheaper to buy a PS2 in good condition and the component cables than it is to find a 60GB PS3, they are rare and more so are hard to find in good shape (not to mention I'd be cautious on buying a used on as they were known to have overheating problems since they had the PS2 chipset included as well) and buying a new one or one in mint condition can get expensive.
+Mr Everything What games do you play BTW?... For me, Big fan of the original ace combats, Red Faction, Resident evil's, Killzone (Ofcourse) are they're any other option that you'd recommend?? (Not a big fan of sports) but great Video BTW really helpful since after my xbox one decided to freak out on me I couldn't play anymore but going for the High Def.. Quality!
dude you are a live savior! Thank you so much I could not get the component cable to work turned out I just needed to put the PS2 from RGB to component. I couldn´t find any of that on my first searches online! THANKS! (yes I am an idiot)
Its your TV. I also got those lines when I played on a Philips TV, but I tried four other TVs (Two Vizio, LG, and a generic chinese one) and none of them showcased the lines.
I have a 40 inches Samsung TV and I used the PS2 to HDMI adapter and I got a message saying "720x576 50hz" but I have a bad resolution. Can you or anyone else helping me to figure out why? Is my TV too large? Is the adapter not good? Do I have to change some parameter? The thing is that I get a much better resolution with an RGB SCART.
You probably have the 3 video component inputs in the wrong order. Although I'd check your tv's display settings as well just to make sure you have the color turned on for that input signal.
I won't lie, it's not really playing them in HD but in both marketing and writing it's key to use a big statement to hook people in. Just be thankful I don't use these tyrannical methods to take advantage of you, well aside from getting your views because it makes me feel good about myself.
i have a ps2 and i think my ps2 slim video on it is going bad because it looks all weird and discolored all crazy on a sdtv and hdtv i tink its time to get a new ps2 slim
Well luckily they're really cheap now but I'd check the connections in the cable ports to make sure nothing's loose and shake the wire to make sure it's not the cable.
yeah i did all that already and nothing seems to work it looks extremely horrible my n64 looks alot better to be honest so im thinking something is work with the system
Someone already asked me this on my other video showing the comparison with and without component cables. I said I wasn't sure and he said it didn't work and he had to "register them with the PS2." I don't know what that means but if you pick up the ones I liked to that are only a few dollars it wouldn't be a very big loss if they didn't work. I'm pretty sure they should though as long as you remember to switch the configuration settings to Y Cb/Pr Cr/Pr.
For some reason when I use component cables in the component slots on the back of my tv, they don't work. I tried plugging them into the composite slots, which is when I got sound, but everything is seen in black and white. What do I do about this?
I bought myself a Sony PlayStation2, connected it to the TV via a component cable, turned on the console, reconfigured it. And in the end, I don’t care that the menu is that the game is in black and white. How to solve this problem?
I use them, on a non HD CRT Sony Trinitron. Screw playing anything before PS3 and 360 on a flat panel LED/LCD tv. Plus what good would a PS2 be when you can't play any of the best light gun games on a flat tv?? This console had the best and biggest library of light gun games if you count the ps1 games.
What TV is that? I have a TC-P42GT25 and it looks almost excellent except for 4:4:4 Chroma. The motion resolution is perfect for 60fps content and is easily the BEST HDTV I have in home, even better than my LG OLED55B7.
How inches is your tv? i got sony 40 inches. just now i tested my ps2 with my new tv and get bad resolution. so when after i watched your video, i am decided to buy component cable hd for ps2.
The PS2 won't display on that TV because it's not compatible with displaying a component signal. The TV would need to have all 5 inputs for it to work.
I'm so mad that I wanted to have game night with my friend so I backed out the old PlayStation 2 and purchased a composite AV set of cables for the PlayStation 2 but the composite cable that I purchased off of eBay was trash the screen is dark and I'm trying to find some composite cables that run them in HD so what I did was for the PlayStation piece that goes in the back that you could plug the HDMI cable to it but the problem with that is only certain games work for from 2012 anything older than that won't play so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place can somebody help me on what age the composite cable to purchase because it's a lot of PlayStation 2 game I haven't finished yet and I want to finish them I want out and purchase 30 memory cards for this journey I'm sorry my phone makes a lot of typos please forgive the mistakes
And but to be honest, what if you don't have a TV now that supports composite? So do you just pretty much right now buy/get an upscaler & solve the solution?
I like Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Resident Evil 4, GTA San Andreas and I played/play them on PS2 cuz Older Games are BETTER! You can see, how much these games are polished and lot of games on PS2 was best in their proper series (Gran Turismo 4, Resident Evil 4, GTA San Andreas etc.)
Component cables for the PS2 should be the last and final resort if you really can't afford to have a CRT. PS2 games still looks like garbage on HDTV Component cables or not.
i have a ps2 slim, but with my av cables in my hdtv looks blurry and letters cant distinguish too good. so i think buying comoonent cables will make a difference right??
I'm using a PS HD Adapter and the picture is perfect. But if i want record the footage the footage had a black box in the footage. Had someone solve this?
I hooked a PS2 slim console to my 42" flatscreen. The console itself works fine, but when I put in a game, the system immediately shuts off. I have no idea if it's something to do with the connection or the type of setting I have it on. I just have no idea what to do to resolve this issue.
Assuming you're using the PS2 with component cables I would suggest switching back to the yellow, white, red cables and seeing if you're still having problems starting a game.
I actually found out what I did wrong. I was using a PS1 AC power adapter to power up the console. So of course, I need the PS2 power adapter. That's my fault on my end.
so these damn cables work when they want. i used these about 3 times with luck. now nothing is showing on my tv. i unplugged everything and plugged them back in. any idea. the output is set for comp cables too btw
Hello !! I wanted to know before I buy if it will improve my quality games if it all of them or just some, Also I wanted to know if it has significantly improved the quality of the PS2 if it improves the game experience !!
I need a little help. I have hooked everything up cables and ps2, it starts up but after the ps the screen goes blank and the sound keeps playing. What would cause this? I have tried a few different games and they do the same thing.
I would first make sure you have the colors correct because it seems odd the audio would work but not the video. My cable was a bit tight to plug into the PS2 so I would make sure it's in the whole way (without breaking anything) and do the same with the cable's tv inputs end as well. And make sure you have the correct display setting (Y Cb/Pr Cr/Pr) in the System Configuration area. If you didn't switch the PS2 to that setting you'll need to plug your yellow, white, red cables back into the PS2 and switch it to that setting and then restart with the component cables.
Thank you I will try that. It was weird I tried my ps2 games and it started working. I think my play station is going out. When the problem happened I was using ps1 games in my ps2.
It might be possible that PS1 games aren't able to display though component but I'm not sure. I don't have any PS1 games to test that either. However if you have any model of the PS3 they all play PS1 games and assuming the PS3 is connected via HDMI it would do a similar job at displaying PS1 games at their best resolution.
I did not know that, I may just upgrade to the 3 if I can play ps1 too. Thank you for your help. It has been a long time since I played. But now I have time on my hands.
You're welcome. Certain PS3 models (the 60GB and some 80GB) also play PS2 games but generally cost more money as they are somewhat limited and rare and also since they had the PS2 chips in it as well they're more likely to overheat, especially now since they're almost 10 years old. If you wanted to play PS2 games you'd be better off getting another PS2 because it's cheaper and a dedicated PS2 would be more reliable. If you're just looking to play PS1 games then any model PS3 will work fine with that.
can you help me? i have a ps2 fat and a hdtv 32'' hd ready. i use component cable but i don't know which screen size to use: tv --> 4:3, 16:9 or full screen? ps2 --> 4:3, 16:9 or full screen? help me, thanks!
Domenico Farina On the TV's aspect ratio I would either choose 16:9 or if there is a "Scan" or "Just Scan" option which shows you everything from what the source is displaying. On your TV "Full" might be that option, start with 16:9 and try "Full" and see if it shows more or less of the picture, if it shows more I'd go with that option just so you can get everything the PS2 is displaying to fit on your screen. On the PS2 I have it set to Full but I think that's only for the configuration menu as once a game starts up it seems to auto scale to whether it's 4:3 or 16:9.
I've seen that the best configuration is 4:3 both on tv that on ps2. Now the image is similar to a square with two black edges but it is much sharper! Thank you for answering me however!
I have just a composite cable that came with the PS2, but no matter what I can't get the screen to display in widescreen. Trying to select "widescreen" in games just stretches the picture top to bottom and doesn't expand it out sideways any. Yours seems to be widescreen even before the component cables, so not sure what's going on there.
Cloud Strife VII Do you have the red and white audio cables plugged into the right inputs. Some TVs have a composite and component inputs while others just have a component that can double as composite as well, meaning if you have at least two sets of red and white inputs make sure they're in line with the 3 component video inputs. Aside from that I'd just mess around with whatever audio settings your TV has.
If it doesn't have the 5 colored inputs for component then you'd have to buy a component to HDMI adapter. Usually they have to run off a power supply so that's one more thing to plug in and I would read reviews of them before you buy just to make sure they don't distort the picture. If you want to use component though that's the only way you can do it with your tv.
That's pretty incredible. I'm curious though, how do you hook up such a cable to an input which would normally take the yellow/white/red and is only marked that way? Which goes to which assuming you could do that at all?
You can't. You need a TV with the composite input. Which has three video cables, Green, Blue and Red in addition to the two audio cables White and Red.
Then what box/hardware would accommodate the RYW since I don't have a monitor that has those colors? By saying that I am dismissing this particular hardware since this is the second time you said it wouldn't work with the RYW; that means that we are now talking about such hardware as WOULD be used with those colors, not the ones I am trying to get away from.
Computer monitors usually won't have either. Computer monitors have inputs such as VGA, DVI or HDMI. These colored cables are usually for TVs. Any modern TV will have both versions, the three colored and the five colored. Older TVs will probably only have the three colored and finally if you have a really really old TV, you might need an UHF adapter to make your ps2 work.
i have a ps2 that wont come on i have power all the lights work and the fan will run the games will turn but no picture the console will not come on i have changed cord and everthing and still the same thing happen....what could it be..nothing comes up.it wont boot or load up like your screen is now.
+Eddie Mccomas Is this happening with the yellow, white, and red color cable that came with the PS2? If so there might be a problem because regardless of what display setting you choose it should always display with the factory cables. I'd try blowing air in the port on the PS2 and then pushing the cable in tightly and wiggling it. If that still doesn't help do you have any other yellow, white, red composite cable devices to plug into your TV to see if they work to make sure it's not your TV (like a VCR or another older game system that uses those inputs.)
+Mr Everything i have tryed 3 or 4 other cords and its the same thing i have a power light the fan starts to run i can eject and put a game in it the game will spin.but that all.i dont have the the picture you get when the game starts that has the word browser and system configuration...its like the system wont boot up and come on.
+Eddie Mccomas I would search Google to see if there are others that have had a similar issue and whether it can be fixed or if it needs a new part. If there isn't any simple way to fit it the next best method would probably be to buy another PS2 since they are fairly cheap and easy to come by these days.
Good suggestion, it's always best to get high quality tech/parts especially when the only other options are junky stuff sold for a few dollars. Luckily the ones I got were high quality ones but that was just that individual seller selling those ones. I figured I'd recommend the cheapest ones to everyone since some might not want to spend the money or might not be sure it will work on their tv's so they'd be more likely to want to buy the cheaper ones.
Are you a troll? Gold plated won't make a difference... Only thing that would help with is oxidation and corrosion. A $100 HDMI cable is the SAME thing as a $5 one from Amazon.
Can someone help me it doesn’t work and I try it doing the blind way too and nothing my ps2 is on and shows it’s connected to component on my tv but it’s just black still ???
They would need to be PS2/PS3 component cables (they don't have to be Sony) but they need to have that special plug on the end that goes into the PlayStation.
I have that same TV, got it for a bargain :) is it the 50 inch? Just curious. It's great in low light but the so called ambient light thing in it is shit. Anyhoo, I know some specific games support component but is doing it natively like this pretty much the same? I noticed with the Wii there was a huge difference between the component and composite and was hoping the same would apply here.
jawztv Unfortunately the year model I bought (2012) was the first year they downgraded their 42" and lower to 720p resolution. So I would have probably preferred the 50" since it's full 1080p. I still really like the TV because the color accuracy is excellent but the menus are so limited and out dated (they look like something you'd find on a late 90s tv.) Also I hate the lack of a 3.5mm audio out port so I had to buy a digital to analog converter to use my headphones. I had a Hisense I bought right before it that had tons of ports, was super thin, and had plenty of features and a great menu but the picture quality was trash so I took it back and got this. I've only noticed the ambient light sensor doing anything when it's dark in the room and it seems to properly adjust the brightness for me. In my case component cables made my PS2 games look considerably better. Some people say the colors are way off or the picture is stretched but to me everything looks so much better since with composite cables I could barely make out text it was so blurry. I'm not sure but I think this tv might upscale standard def signals because I recently bought a VCR and the picture quality oddly seemed pretty good when watching it in the full 16:9 aspect ratio and wasn't any sharper than watching it in 4:3 aspect ratio, even with VHS's that were recorded in 4:3.
Mr Everything I'm thinking of buying some component cables for my ps2 as they do look awful on HDTVs. Not really the fault of the system as they were designed for SD TVs. I bought the 50 inch and tbh I can't really tell that much difference between what's 720 and what's 1080 because I mostly use it for gaming and most current/last gen titles output in 720 anyway. Much better than my last tv which was a 42 inch Samsung with this weird soundbar embedded into it, was one of the first HDTVs and weighed a ton. The ambient light sensor is good in the dark but the there's a lot they could have done for bright situations, to make it easier to see what's happening. The lack of outputs on this was disappointing too especially as you mentioned, no 3.5mm jack and the fact it only has one scart socket which is a bummer if you have lots of old equipment, guess they figured nobody uses these things anymore. So does the component cable make a big difference? I know some games support 480p by themselves but was just wondering if doing it like you did in the video would negate having to do that anyway.
It sounds like you’re playing an older game that displays in 4:3 resolution. The tv is 16:9 so there’s not really anything you can do about it. You could zoom the picture in but it cuts off too much of the signal and will make it look too fuzzy.
If those are the only inputs your TV has then it likely isn't a TV that can display a component signal so the best that TV could output is with the standard composite cables.
The yellow, white, and red cable that comes with the PS2 would be the ones you would want to use. You would want to use the component cables with an HDTV or the less common late model CRT TVs that accept a component input.
Not like youre going to read this now but. Ive tried so many ways of trying to convert ps2 to hd in my tv but it wont work my tv is unique. its a samsung one. It has component slots but its different. Its unlike most. It has to tiny green holes and another underneef for audio. Ive tried every combanation and it wont work. Ive tried another thing. A special ps2 to hd cable which as usb and even that doesnt work.
Still working on that. If all else fails. I'm going to get an older tv just so I can play my ps2 games. People are putting still working ones out to be recycled. Might get lucky.
Brandon Augustine You need to have an HDTV to use these cables. I don't know of any current TVs that use only a composite (yellow, white, red) input without also having a component input. If for some reason that is the case and your tv has HDMI but not component then you'd need to buy an adapter to convert the component cables into an HDMI plug.
Crazy thing happened to me. I bought a ps2 component cable and now the ps2 doesn't show on my tv with neither those or the original av cable. No sound neither. I've tried other tv and nothing. Lol...Any suggestions?
I'd suggest making sure the plug is in fact plugged the whole way into the PS2. The plug on my component cables was fairly tight and took a fair amount of pressure to get it the whole way in. Although it seems the problem is something else if your older cables you were using now no longer work and if you also tested it on another TV it would seem to indicate it's your PS2. You could try cleaning the contacts on the PS2's A/V port and making sure all the contacts are there and aren't bent. If that doesn't help if you know anyone that has a PS2 I'd try it on their's a see if it works on their's. Luckily PS2s are easy to come by fairly cheap and even sometimes $20 or less at flea markets or in local sale listings if you'd have to get another one but hopefully you can fix the one you have.
howd u get the regular red yellow white av cord to work on ur hd tv mine is a Lg hd tv and it has red and white but theres nowhere to plug the yellow 1 in i hope i dont need that other cord i just want to play
serena180 Lots of current HDTVs no longer have the basic 3 port composite inputs but usually still include one 5 port component input. That input still works with composite cables, you just leave the other two inputs empty. If that is how your TV is set up the red a white cables go in the regular red and white inputs and the yellow plug goes in the green input on the TV which should be labeled "Y"
i was stillable to use the regular cord but on the side of my hd tv it showed a green and yellow slot all in 1 i plugged the yellow 1 into that and it worked
Ok I've just received my component cables in the post that I ordered, but I've no clue how to use them, I changed output mode, but my tv only has the red white and yellow connection slots, what do I do?
You won't be able to use them on your TV if it doesn't have component inputs on the back. You have a widescreen, HDTV right? If your TV has an HDMI input you can by a converter to connect to your component cables that will have an HDMI jack on the other end to plug into your TV that way if it has no other HD capable inputs.
If you TV is a standard definition CRT (tube) TV it will probably look pretty good with the regular composite cables since composite generally looks better on CRT TV's than being stretched out on a current HDTV. If your TV has some type of HD input then it might be one of the ones around 2005 that could have HD products hooked up to them but I think they could only display up to 480p. If that's the case then the component cables converted into that type of TV might look better than the composite.
Yea sometimes they combine the composite inputs into the component or have them on different sides of the TV which could make if confusing if you never used them before. Glad to hear they work though,
I recently ran into a problem with my PS2 and have done a video on the fix *How to Fix PS2 Disc Not Spinning & Solder Mod* ua-cam.com/video/ZfFgFouO_uU/v-deo.html
If it’s a new tv it may only have HDMI ports. The easiest way to check is to see what inputs are on the back of it. If it does only use HDMI ports you could buy a converter that would accept the PS2 inputs and convert them into an HDMI cable that would plug into your tv.
Dose that work for the original ps2 the fat version

Max Payne What you said is 100% *FALSE* , PS2 can output also 720p and 1080i using component cables, the only problem is that not many games have the option to run in that resolution.
Gran Turismo 4, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria and Jackass the game (for example) are fully playable in 1080i, also GBA emulator (even if it's not official) can output at that resolution.
Also Xploder in Europe sold a HD Upscaler disc, but games will be still in SD since they're running in their native resolution.
RedFlameFox That's why i said with a FEW games you can get 1080i, didn't you read my comment
This is why you soft mod and use a GSModeSelector and run it in 1080i while using an av to hdmi adapter
So there's 5 plugins for the back of the TV, two reds etc. .. Which ones do I have to plug in for the ps2 to go into HD? thanks

Thanks im now enjoying my ps2 in much better resolution and full screen thanks so much i liked and subscribed
I don't have one to test it on but it should work because both models use the exact same plug for a/v out.
king wesker I'm not sure, the PS3 natively displays in HD resolution and upscales PS1/PS2 games yet I've heard because it does that it can make some games look stretched and washed out.
PS2 fat support component cables? Please answer...

Component has 5 plugs but tv has the standard red white and yellow 3 sockets, what will happen if i use it. No sound?
The PS2 won't display on that TV because it's not compatible with displaying a component signal. The TV would need to have all 5 inputs for it to work.

And but to be honest, what if you don't have a TV now that supports composite? So do you just pretty much right now buy/get an upscaler & solve the solution?
NFS Underground 2 🔥🔥
YES SIR!
Yes best is interlaced with RGB Scart even Progressive looks worse than it
you get best resolution and sharp picture with scart cable …. believe me i have experimented a lot with comopsit also

PS1 games played on PS2 with component cables are shown in black and white
16:9 vs 4:3 vs full
how wins???
Man i realy, realy love the ps2. Best home console ever!
can you help me? i have a ps2 fat and a hdtv 32'' hd ready. i use component cable but i don't know which screen size to use: tv --> 4:3, 16:9 or full screen? ps2 --> 4:3, 16:9 or full screen? help me, thanks!
I'd check your TV's aspect ratio settings and go through each one of them while the PS2 is displayed on the TV and see if that changes the picture.
After i pressed the “Y Cb/Pb Cr/PR” option, the screen went dark, what do you recommend i do? I have a 2018 samsung tv
Everything works for my TV its a VIzio m series smart TV but no sound?? Please help
Cloud Strife VII Do you have the red and white audio cables plugged into the right inputs. Some TVs have a composite and component inputs while others just have a component that can double as composite as well, meaning if you have at least two sets of red and white inputs make sure they're in line with the 3 component video inputs. Aside from that I'd just mess around with whatever audio settings your TV has.
your browsers dots that is clearly showing and moving in yous is not suddenly stop moving in my ps2
What if its showing black and white visuals and wont play games?
I have everything hooked up through component with a game that supports HD, but it still displays in 480i.
I used the Ps3 av cables wire..You install the cabke upside down..The game does not cut out and is clear..
I have a led tv with and hdmi, vga, and 1 usb output. Will this work for my tv?
If it doesn't have the 5 colored inputs for component then you'd have to buy a component to HDMI adapter. Usually they have to run off a power supply so that's one more thing to plug in and I would read reviews of them before you buy just to make sure they don't distort the picture. If you want to use component though that's the only way you can do it with your tv.
Mr Everything Do you know a name to one?

That's pretty incredible. I'm curious though, how do you hook up such a cable to an input which would normally take the yellow/white/red and is only marked that way? Which goes to which assuming you could do that at all?
You can't.
You need a TV with the composite input.
Which has three video cables, Green, Blue and Red
in addition to the two audio cables White and Red.
Douglas Eric Then what are my options for doing this exact thing with RYW cables?
None
You need the composite cable to make this work.
If there isn't any simple way to fit it the next best method would probably be to buy another PS2 since they are fairly cheap and easy to come by these days.
i have been looking and i havent found anything yet
+Eddie Mccomas wow
Get monster component cables. They are less then 20 on amazon. And they are gold plated and best quality for ps2

Garage sales or thrift stores or gamestop. They are no longer sold in stores and have not been for the past decade.
MrWolfSnack Really?
Composite cables are STILL sold at my city's store, and if you doubt it, I can send you pictures (Component cables are sold too)
I have that same TV, got it for a bargain :) is it the 50 inch? Just curious. It's great in low light but the so called ambient light thing in it is shit. Anyhoo, I know some specific games support component but is doing it natively like this pretty much the same? I noticed with the Wii there was a huge difference between the component and composite and was hoping the same would apply here.
Apologies, missed the part when you said the size. Still a great tv and even on composite they look okay.
jawztv Unfortunately the year model I bought (2012) was the first year they downgraded their 42" and lower to 720p resolution.
I just installed these component cables and everything looks much sharper but the images are green any reason why?
Thanks

It sounds like you’re playing an older game that displays in 4:3 resolution. The tv is 16:9 so there’s not really anything you can do about it. You could zoom the picture in but it cuts off too much of the signal and will make it look too fuzzy.
@@Mr.Everything but the menu is also in 4:3 and in the setting I put 16:9.
What if my tv only has the colors red, yellow, and white. Will those cables work fine?
If those are the only inputs your TV has then it likely isn't a TV that can display a component signal so the best that TV could output is with the standard composite cables.
@@Mr.Everything oh geez so that means I bought the wrong cables?

I'm going to get an older tv just
so I can play my ps2 games. People are putting still working ones
out to be recycled. Might get lucky.
How exactly do you hook this to the back of the tv? my hd tv has red white and yellow, but no green or any of the other colors.
For some strange reason, when I tried Capcom VS. SNK 2, it looks a lot better on the HDTV compared to my SDTV. Weird.
What if you only have a Coaxial Cord and Rf Adapter for HD Tv?
+jenny chip You aren't going to be able to get an HD signal from those cables.
howd u get the regular red yellow white av cord to work on ur hd tv mine is a Lg hd tv and it has red and white but theres nowhere to plug the yellow 1 in i hope i dont need that other cord i just want to play
serena180 Lots of current HDTVs no longer have the basic 3 port composite inputs but usually still include one 5 port component input.
I'm gonna get a PS2 so I can play Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity two great games that I heard good things about.
Mr Everything ah no its not a widescreen, and I might do that, thanks a lot!
Mr Everything man it sounds so stupid but literally just found the slots, looks so much better now! Thanks for the help man
Yea sometimes they combine the composite inputs into the component or have them on different sides of the TV which could make if confusing if you never used them before. Glad to hear they work though,
