I discovered Home Run Inn frozen pizza about a year ago and fell instantly in love. My "go to" pizza is sausage and mushrooms - which is one combo they sell - and it's marvelous. The four-cheese pizza is the ONLY frozen pizza I've ever had that does not need extra mozzarella cheese added to it (actually, any of their pizzas). I have never smelled any bad smells coming from the pizza, frozen or baked. I love the sauce & crust, too. This one is really a matter of different taste buds, I guess.

Order a large pie from your favorite pizza joint, eat a slice or two, and separate the rest into individual zip lock bags to freeze for those peckish needs throughout the month. Much more cost-effective, and you get the great taste you want.
When you re-heat those slices put them in a skillet. Adjust heat , cover or don't cover. After a couple tries you will get crust and toppings exactly like you want.

I love the people who are like, "It'S mAdE of CHEMICALS!" Humans are made of chemicals, everything is essentially a chemical, H2O isn't exactly a non-chemical sounding name.. lol
A "real" pizza is made from flour, water, yeast, salt, spices, tomatoes, cheese, with vegetable and meat toppings. No reason to add anything else except to improve flavor of something that's not fresh, increase the shelf life, or improve texture, etc. The only reason to add anything is to make up for what's lacking in the original recipe. Given the choice, plain ingredients every time - that way you know you've actually gotten a good or bad pizza and your taste buds haven't been fooled by chemical additives.
@@jjbud3124 That's not necessarily true. There are lots of food science ingredients that do things like create smoother melting, promote emulsion, moisten baked goods, etc. For example, if you want to make smooth stovetop style macaroni and cheese, you will need to add something like sodium citrate. In other cases, the ingredient you see will be the active flavor compound from something you'd normally recognize, but they use the compound alone to create consistency or avoid other flavors they aren't after. MSG is a classic example, where you're after umami flavor but don't want natural sources like tomato or parmesan or seaweed in your recipe. The uses you cite are valid and common as well, but they add unfamiliar sounding things for culinary reasons as well.
I don't mind the taste of DiGiorno's & they have certain ones that are amazing (which I coincidentally haven't seen in a looong time), like chorizo & poblanos, the garlic crust & the Sicilian inspired meat lovers one. The thing I can't figure out is how it's possible to cook the rising crust ones correctly, yet they always come out still so soggy in the middle that you can't even pick the slices up, yet the crust is perfectly fine.

Stouffer's French Bread used to be the BEST.......till Nestle's bought them, now the bread is nothing more than a hotdog bun that gets soggy from the watered down "sauce"....inedible!!
Oh, is that what happened? Yeah, Stouffer's had some good things, and they disappeared! Swiss crepes, Glazed chicken with french rice, and french bread pizza went to shit..
Newman’s Own is my favorite too. I’ve had the others and none compare to how fresh Newman’s tastes. Always have an emergency pizza in your fridge guys !
As far as frozen pizza tasting like The Real Thing, when I was younger, Newman's hits the nail on the head. Don't know why those others have crusts that are like eating sandwiches. Liked that thin crust that used to drip all over you when you went to the corner pizza place on a Saturday night. Newman's is the closest to it, only it has better toppings. 🍕
wrong- my dad ran a pizza shop in north akron, and there's no way in hell any frozen toppings would be better than the stuff we used. our specialty was sicilian pizza and deep-fried/breaded sauerkraut balls- a Polish recipe with beef, chicken, and pork. it was called 'caesar's pizza' and we used to get cease and decist letters from little caesar's in detroit. fun times- i was just 9 years old then. i was in charge of folding the boxes.@@marcstevens8576
Yeah Ive always thought it was the best frozen pizza by far. I think it tastes almost exactly the same as in restrauaunt. I feel like they just completely made up things to say for this video
Yeah idk what pizza they reviewed, but I don't think it was home run inn. Hands down the best freshest frozen pizza I've had. The cheese has crazy pull and tastes great. No weird smells like what they were saying. I only get the cheese version though
As someone who worked for Nestle and delievered Digiorno and CPK to stores, nothing compares to cooking them right. You need the right oven for any of these, and it's preferred to be a speciality pizza oven which we had at our depot. Both of the above mentioned pizzas are so much better compared to when I oven baked them at home. I don't know how the others stack up.
I’ve just recently came across Freschetta pizza 🍕 at my grocery store. It was on sale so I tried their combination pizza. It was really good, almost like buying a fresh pizza from a restaurant. I’ll never go back to the other brands. This is the best by far, and I love the crust on this pizza. It sells for a good price, but I always buy it when it’s on sale. 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
they are okay for kids, but for me, they need to be augmented with more quality toppings and sauce. the dough is tasty but thats the cheapest part of the equation. once you get the hang of pounding down and raising your own pizza dough you will NEVER settle for frozen again.
We've tried about every frozen pizza known to man, and so we've made up our tastebud minds, and it's the Red Baron Classic Crust Supreme Pizza, with a excellent crust, plenty of cheese, and the sauce is great, and plenty of toppings, it's hard to beat a RED BARON PIZZA!!!
The fact you put Home Run Inn right near the bottom gives me enough reason to not watch the rest of this video. The crust has a great buttery flavor, and the sauce is very good too.
Tyrunner0097 I live in Chicago, maybe we are just getting bad pizza out here, you’re getting the best out there 😂Remember when you used to come with the the bottom paper plate? not anymore. you need a pizza pan or some aluminum foil. the cheese doesn’t taste well, the crust is dry 🥴
"who wants to mess with a cardboard box when you're hungry for frozen pizza?" but doesn't tombstone taste exactly like a cardboard box??? tombstone is the worst. jack's is 1000 times better than tombstone.
@@brianjennings1624 that makes alot of sense! because i remember them being really good in the early 90's. now they are being outdone by the generic grocery store brand hahaha
DiGiorno's self rising Supreme is my favorite, followed by the Freschetta naturally rising Supreme. Once in awhile I will have a Totino's or a French Bread pizza (I prefer Red Baron over Stouffers).
well, stouffer's is crap- now that nestles' has messed the recipe with their cheap ingredients. why would a company spend a buttload of money on tried-and-true classic recipes and then change them all?
I seldom would buy frozen pizza because I was almost always disappointed until I bought a Motor City pizza! Comes in it’s own baking tray so your oven doesn’t get dirty or dirtier, the toppings are plentiful and the flavors are delicious. The pizza inside the box looks like what’s pictured on the box, whereas many pizzas have no resemblance to what’s inside which is why we stopped buying Freschetta pizza which we at one time enjoyed when the actual pizza did look like what was on the box and the flavor was delicious. To be honest I haven’t tried all that many frozen pizzas since delivery of good pizzas only takes minutes, generally cost more but is worth it. So Motor City gets my vote, with one exception, the cheese one just tastes like cheese bread and should come with dipping sauce, which it doesn’t, so have some RAO’S on hand.
Jack's pizza....3 for $9.99! Add extra ingredients, and it is my supper when I don't want a big meal!! My husband doesn't like it, so that is a bonus for me! LOL!!
Totinos taste much better than Tombstone and Red Baron has to much crust. Plus Totinos makes a good base if you want to add your own toppings, it should be ranked much higher.
And Totinos is one of the best frozen pizzas out there. Seriously. It may only be a couple bucks but the sausage isn't gross (hi Tony's), the pepperoni doesn't taste funky (hi Jack's) and they don't skimp on the slices (hi every other brand), plus the crust is unique, not a bland slab that you don't want to finish (hi Digorno's). And did she say the sauce was sugary? Nonsense! Just shut up bitch 🙄
I used to work at the Pillsbury factory in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where Totino's pizzas are made. They are designed for people who want a decent or quick pizza and can't afford to pay alot. If you want an upscale pizza, get the My Classic pizza, if Pillsbury still makes it.
@Greg Albanese HAHA NAHHHHH, I love the stuff, don't eat it much anymore but Homerun always my go to......also, Outsiders Pizza Co, Detroit style.....awesome But to be honest, I like pretty muc hANY pizza, frozen or fresh, I can't say Ive had one that I DONT LIKE...
Totinos party pizza reminds me of being a kid . We use to heat one up on some foil and bring the whole pizza outside . In a time when “who ever came outside with the coolest snack” was an unspoken competition, You were the sh*t if you came out with the Totinos on foil.
They changed it slightly and just wasn't the same. I missed the circle shape and crunch that lacked with the new design and the taste was also off compared to how it used to taste.
I like the Safeway frozen pizzas very much and they do have some thin crust selections. And they are frequently on sale. I'm glad to see they made your list.
How can you not like Home Run Inn? I live in Chicago where HRI was created. If you go to one of the restaurants, the fresh made pizzas have the same crust as the frozen and both are delicious! 😋
I totally agree, that's why I came to the comments section to see if I was tripping. That's all my husband and I buy. Unless we can stop at the real place.
I actually never tried Newman's Own Pizza until I saw this video, and actually never would have thought it was anything special - I don't know that it is THE BEST, but it IS surprisingly good. I was impressed!
It’s not great, and neither is Freshetta, or Tombstone, or Red Barron. All truly bad. Heck, Digiornos runs circles around those. This video feels sponsored to me?

Wal-Mart's "Great Value Rising Crust Pizza" is amazing for its price. It's a large $3 pizza that has that freshly baked bread feeling like you mentioned with Freschetta. This coming from a Colorado guy whos had plenty of both.
Informative - and funny!!
Stouffer's French Bread used to be the BEST.......till Nestle's bought them, now the bread is nothing more than a hotdog bun that gets soggy from the watered down "sauce"....inedible!!
Everything nestle owns sucks
Hmm I use a gas oven and always over cook them a bit... Also I never use that half cook microwave/oven quick cook method.
Oh, is that what happened? Yeah, Stouffer's had some good things, and they disappeared! Swiss crepes, Glazed chicken with french rice, and french bread pizza went to shit..
@@dirtysanchez941 Yep. It says nestle on the back of the Stouffer's foods now.

Freschetta is my favorite by far! Then Red Baron. Walmart's pizzas are actually pretty good too.
Walmart's are really good. I like Red Baron. Never had Freschetta until 4 hrs. from now.
Walmart's pizza IS VERY GOOD, and cheaper than all the rest !
Agree with all of you about Walmart pizza
"Back To The Future II" wasn't set in the year 3000, they went 30 years into the future to the year 2015.
This infuriated me too. Based on the list itself though, I'd say they don't do much research for their videos.
This channels writers are absolute morons. Everyone should boycott this horrid channel.

Indeed
Yeah Ive always thought it was the best frozen pizza by far. I think it tastes almost exactly the same as in restrauaunt. I feel like they just completely made up things to say for this video
Personally I love the Home Run Pizza. The crust tastes different and I like it. Its crispy like a pastry.

1. Home Run with sausage and mushrooms and Sausage Supreme
2. DiGiorno Supreme
3. freschetta Supreme
Yes it is so good!
More like pizza bread than pizza
that is gross I tried it before
they are okay for kids, but for me, they need to be augmented with more quality toppings and sauce. the dough is tasty but thats the cheapest part of the equation. once you get the hang of pounding down and raising your own pizza dough you will NEVER settle for frozen again.
Hello, I agree with you about buying pizza when it's on sale
(sees round pizza being cut into squares repeatedly throughout video)
MY EYES!
That's how they do it in Chicago tavern style. The best way.
In NJ only a social outcast would cut a round pizza in squares. It's offensive to ruin a good pizza that way.
I wouldn't say that if I were in Chicago. It wouldn't end well...lol.
We've tried about every frozen pizza known to man, and so we've made up our tastebud minds, and it's the Red Baron Classic Crust Supreme Pizza, with a excellent crust, plenty of cheese, and the sauce is great, and plenty of toppings, it's hard to beat a RED BARON PIZZA!!!
well you must be beside yourself while eating domino's
I'm a Tombstone guy, but you're right...Red Baron is pretty close. I've never been disappointed by it.
Red Baron is vastly underrated.

The pizza inside the box looks like what’s pictured on the box, whereas many pizzas have no resemblance to what’s inside which is why we stopped buying
Freschetta pizza which we at one time enjoyed when the actual pizza did look like what was on the box and the flavor was delicious.
LOL!!

Totinos - The best
And Totinos is one of the best frozen pizzas out there. Seriously. It may only be a couple bucks but the sausage isn't gross (hi Tony's), the pepperoni doesn't taste funky (hi Jack's) and they don't skimp on the slices (hi every other brand), plus the crust is unique, not a bland slab that you don't want to finish (hi Digorno's). And did she say the sauce was sugary? Nonsense! Just shut up bitch 🙄
