That depends on whos writing the plot, usually vampires don't turn people just by a bite, they also need to add their own blood into the human. So feeding is usually sucking blood without leaving a trace of what happened and only on extremely rare cases the vampire then willingly converts some.
@@HelmuthGerka the problem isn't about converting your food supply into competition. The problem is that a vampire's main prey species is notably more proactive in defense against predators than just about every other form of life on this planet. Look at it this way. @@fabledkitty214 I think it's because as more vampires came to be and overpopulated, humans living among them are targeted. Maybe Frank knew his brother would also be targeted, so he turned him and went back to the military to avoid him. Just what I think though
I respect Frankie's decision to turn Ed despite his apprehensions. He wanted to save his brother, even if his brother would hate him for it. But the "Just following orders" part does sort of make me dislike him. He already turned his brother and now his brother hates him. But then, he goes behind his back and reports him to his higher ups and endangers him. It's only when he watched a girl he turned die did he regret the things he's done and I don't understand why. Is she a representation of what he is doing to his brother? Is it because he realizes his superiors can't or won't help his brother? Does he feel guilty after seeing the consequences of his actions? He was so loyal to the people he served that he would betray his brother. But then a girl dies and NOW he wants to save his brother? After everything he did that hurt him?
Anyone else realize this could've all been averted by the vampires just visiting blood banks, seeing as simply getting a bag of blood would help them out for a while, at least when they spike their coffees and other such beverages with it?

Loved this movie, especially the ending blood orge fight scene lol This came out the same time around twilight and it was such a nice reminder of what vampires should be 😆
I REALLY Wish movies still took Chances, like this one did. It wasn't made to be a Franchise, Farmed until the last "Drop" it was just a cool story that made a cool movie.
I thought as well about how they're going to cure everyone. But realistically, wouldn't a big amount of the vampires want to get cured? And for the rest of could end their blood shortage by coming to terms with the humans. Blood for peace.
I read a book similar to this about 2yrs ago. The vamps even found love got married to humans and reproduced. Some vamps chose to become human again some were cool being vamps. It was a cool book.
I liked this movie bc it addressed what would happen in the event of a full scale vampire takeover. And it opened my eyes to how truly weak vampires really were. In a lot of movies they're depicted as an Apex Predator. The superior race compared to humans. However they can only survive a single food source. And sunlight can kill them so they can only come out during the night. But to combat this they implemented a lot of safety protocols such as Day Time driving mode for vehicles. Each car is equiped with UV shielding and cameras so that they can drive during the day without worrying about getting burned then there's the underground walk way. But that's just it. Their entire species is being forced underground. While the humans get to live above ground. Then there's the cure. The long sought after cure to vampirism. Treated vampire blood. Genius actually.
I really appreciate the setting of this film. It's not often you see writers think it through that far; to the point of the world trying to live while adapting to vampirism.
Crazy being from Brisbane and seeing your city in a movie, guess other people that aren't from cities like LA, Chicago, New York and Paris must feel the same when they see their home town in Hollywood.
A good movie except for one thing. Unsustainable farming methods. You trap them until they die of old age, not even letting them reproduce, it just seems crazy to me.

I remember, when I was younger and saw the DVD in the library. I was fascinated and borrowed it. It was great! It was around the time I was in this whole Van Helsing, Underworld , Vampire phase.
Thanks for remembering me of this movie! :D
Days after watching this movie I watched "Merlin" and I instantly recognized Sam Neill, the boss of our protagonist. :D
Edward's brother was really rare type of people who would sacrifice themselves to save their loved ones and Lionel is also great friend who always has your back
Frankie kinda deserved what happened to him. "Just following orders" only excuses so much, my guy.
He even turned his brother into a vampire because, he wanted to ''Save him'' and you know not curse him for the rest of his life...........
Damn, because of an infected bat? It's irresistible to make a rona reference.
@@fabledkitty214 But that decision, be it questionable, allowed Ed to find a cure
Yea and lets solve world hunger by telling people to just go to the supermarket! In a world such as this you really think blood banks are still in operation (and stocked?!) lol...
Blood is already often in short supply and that's without people drinking it
Bro how are you even poor? Just go to a bank.
Bro how are you homeless? Just buy a house mate.
"Infected bat"
"2019"
Wait a minute
Covid 19 lol
Rona vurus
this is 2009 film btw
My husband and I got really dirty looks in the theatre when the vampire explodes on the table. Doesn't he say something like "I feel ok" then, pop? I remember whatever was said right before just added to the humour and we cracked up bad.
I think he just goes:
"Ow"
@@oscarbayton1118 Ah, thank you! I remember it cracked us up, but couldn't remember what was said for the life of me.

A great genre movie that deserved a franchise.
God no. Daybreakers worked as a one and done.
"Infected bat in 2009"
They where 10 years off and we got COVID 19 LOL!
Lmfao an infected BAT in 2019! Beside the vampire shit, this is spot on🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best channel ever. Great for when you want to remember a good movie, but don't have two hours to kill.
Yess I remembered this. This was the moment where vampire movies were the trends.
I was kinda hoping that Daybreakers would get a 2nd movie because of the ending and how the story could still be elaborated more.
World of Drama.~
This was and is one of the greatest sci-fi vampire movies ever made! A classic with a huge cult following.. if you haven’t seen this yet put it on your list… u won’t be disappointed
I like how the ending was so reverse-zombie apocalypse, as the vampires feast on the cure and become the food themselves
Why did I imagine a Vampire doing this?
*Tipping his hat.*
"It's not much but its honest work."
Christopher : *"There can't be cure"*
Edward : *"Am I a joke to you?"*
I want to make joke about infected bat, but we all know it comes from the lab after people said it was conspiracy xD
The alternate ending to Midnight Mass, where Beverly gets the town off the island.
Damn.
I loved this movie!! I wish they would make a second part
Daybreakers is such an underrated gem. One of my faves of all time.
This guy never disappoints one of the most underrated actors
I play this simulator called 'plague Inc' on the hardest difficulty and can honestly say this is pretty plausible if the stats are anything to go by! Best way to start a mass infection is either by air or bat aka 'Rodent' its said you are never more than ten feet away from a rodent! ;) although something as absurd as Vampirism is a little farfetched
I remember watching this in theaters when it came out. Really impressive stuff that I think still hold up very well to this day.
"Could I get a teaspoon of blood in my coffee?"
-Vampire 2021
The way the first military truck got destroyed with its vamps was so satisfying.
Móvies recaps, this film from 2009 'daybreakers', seemed to be a great film.
The funny fact is the infection from the bat, in this 2021 year, is still a fact that we have to learn.
Great summary.
Except it doesn't turn us into cool vampires but kills us gasping for air in hospitals.
Nothing cool about real life. 🙄
I love that he apparently realized partway through the summary that he was saying "vineyard" wrong
Movie recaps are showing me movies I've never heard of. This channel is better than watching the movie itself. Cheers
Can we all just take a moment of silence for Frankie the realist brother of all time💯
Loved this movie, especially the ending blood orge fight scene lol
This came out the same time around twilight and it was such a nice reminder of what vampires should be 😆
I REALLY Wish movies still took Chances, like this one did. It wasn't made to be a Franchise, Farmed until the last "Drop" it was just a cool story that made a cool movie.
I can just imagine the treated humans creating tiny darts containing their treated blood and shooting every vampire in a drive by every night.
Gangsta doctors?
I thought as well about how they're going to cure everyone. But realistically, wouldn't a big amount of the vampires want to get cured? And for the rest of could end their blood shortage by coming to terms with the humans. Blood for peace.
Just one dart is enough. Just cure a single vamp in a crowd square. Be sure to stock tons of popcorns since the shows will last for hours.
I really love these videos its like watching an abridged/condensed version of the movie and they’re always very enjoyable.
7:40 the truck got penetrated through the top of the vehicle. I rly wish the film makers acknowledged an explosion wouldn’t make sense.
Another underrated classic that hardly gets spoken on (just like daybreakers) is 30 days of 30 nights.
"But once the whole dose is in he pukes"
*violently blows chunks out

Honestly one of my favorite vampire movies (and overall favorite films)
I like how well thought out the implications of this form of vampirism were
Damn alternate covid universe. Except instead of covid, everyone is vampires.
The jab just might turn them into one with all these mutations going around so don't ruke out vampires just yet
Low key i remember watching this movie way back.
It was literally the most creative vampire movie I ever saw.
I read a book similar to this about 2yrs ago. The vamps even found love got married to humans and reproduced. Some vamps chose to become human again some were cool being vamps. It was a cool book.
Wat book? Name?

I like the moonman voice I assume that’s the one u mean as well not the trying to be human but clearly not one voice
Probably more belivable than harry potter where wizards didn't just take over everything and enslave the muggle borns.
Daybreak, is an awesome and under appreciated movie. I used to watch this all the time in my gaming period.
I got the chance to watch this movie a couple of years back and I will admit it's very intriguing with its premise and ideas.
Hopefully it doesn't effect us bigfoots
Us praying mantises will somehow help keep you Bigfoots safe and sound from vampires
Us cats took down your population sorry :/
Aren't sasquatch just bears that have been bitten by rabid humans?
This was a great movie I remember when it came out. Nice recap guys!
I really appreciate the setting of this film. It's not often you see writers think it through that far; to the point of the world trying to live while adapting to vampirism.
I wish they would make a sequel, this is one of the best modern vampire movies!!
Yeah there should be Daybreakers 2
This movie is fantastic I've been loving it for years and nobody ever talks about it
I loved that they tried to create a realistic scenario for the Vampire Plague, well done indeed.
I thought this movie was a fever dream, it's still really cool though.
To be honest, pretty great plot. Should be redone with modern CG and high budget
It looks better than any other stuff today.
That sounded like a really convenient ending “Lol we’re outta time but don’t worry we have a cure everyone’s gonna live happily ever after”
i lost it at the vampire hobo asking for free blood🤣🤣
This movie was phenomenal and refreshingly original
Are you sure about that

Crazy being from Brisbane and seeing your city in a movie, guess other people that aren't from cities like LA, Chicago, New York and Paris must feel the same when they see their home town in Hollywood.
A good movie except for one thing. Unsustainable farming methods. You trap them until they die of old age, not even letting them reproduce, it just seems crazy to me.
