Korean movies are so full of grace. Filled with self sacrifice, family, redemption, love and respect for mothers and fathers. And they have got to be amongst the most beautiful aesthetics in movies in the world. Just breathtaking costumes and makeup, special effects, themes and concepts. This film is nearly the best I've ever watched. Brava.
I've previously watched this movie 3x already . Forgot about it until your excellent recap video. You've done an outstanding job in this video covering the movie !
This movie isn't about the afterlife, it's about being human. We all contain "judges" in our own minds who torture us because of "sins" we've committed. We need to foster forgiveness (for self and others) and in doing so, we create defenders who stand for us against the judgment, allowing us to move on with our lives and "reincarnate". If we remain in shame and judgment of ourselves, we become stuck and cannot grow as a person.
Now everything makes much more sense, the depiction of these judges in the literal way made it feel like they're absolutely incompetent at their one and only job, but rather if it's our guilty conscience it would made much sense considering how long they usually take to get rid of.
This is like a movie adaptation of those old folk tales that have really bipolar and extreme judgement and morals, like; "You stole a dollar from this man. You now lose both arms and a leg."

The part when the mom knew her son tried to kill her and said nothing made me cry so hard🥺and knowing that she forgives him years ago made me cry even more😭
For all of you who still don't get it, you are not supposed to see all of this as literal, this is happening on his head moments before he goes to the other side and his subconciousness (the defenders) is trying to tell him that he was a good man and should learn to let go of his guilt and stop judging himself so harshly (the unfair and blind judges)
Very good special-effects and the ‚kind’ of how they are used, but the Trials are Weird. It’s strange they are so bad that they can be convinced by pointing out the Obvious or pointing out the stuff slightly less obvious than Obvious.
Fair interpretation I suppose but the fact that it's expressly using the reincarnation cycle rather than just being in limbo does through a few wrenches into it being allegorical.

That is why they have defendants... The 'crime' has been written, and has been violated, thus it is up to the suspect/guardians to defend their position - it is like the criminal justice.

Well, it's discouraging considering ALL those deities only know half truths and judge severe punishments inaccurately solely based on little info. What I saw within the film is that mere humans and a couple guardians know better than those "Peak of Morality" deities.....
Well, technically they are. As they're at peak of those judgement calls. It's just a movie but it's quite the irony to unjustly punish individuals for sins among people who are too socially awkward to speak for themselves. Makes you wonder that those deities are hypocritical sinners themselves as they're so quick to judge and punish, it would make one think many of those they've sent to suffer were also not giving the right answers and quickly sent to their punishment, if it weren't for those guardians to speak for him, he would have failed round 1. However, those guardians we're only helping so they could acquire their own selfish desire.
@@saphired02 If the punishment for attempting to kill your mother because you were so deep in depression and sorrow was to suffer *forever* , I don't think they are very good judges. Despite the "here's the sin and punishment" "here's the reason" "sin is forgiven" pattern I do love how the final sin, the most unforgivable sin. Then one day the dog got sick and then continued to be sick for more than 2 weeks until he passed away, and in those 2 weeks I never saw him happy and energetic anymore. It really hurt me when I looked at him when he passed away, I kept thinking about the dog having a fun life. Could I have made him happier by playing with him? These types of questions went to my head at the time and I was just quietly sitting down while thinking about him. And I would still sometimes think about those questions even after months has passed. Yep, people are inherently kind. Its just the knowledge they obtain, environment and how brain develops as one grows. The difference in personality also acquired by environment just like how people in the West and Asia view life differently. People in the west esp. in America value individuality where in Asia especially in East Asia value collectivism as one need to cooperate to other. Theres no right or wrong in every actions taken. Its only perceived wrong when someone dont agree with it. Its also about how limited their perspective can be. For example, religious people dont agree with homosexuals as they deem it wrong where people in LGBT community see it as love regardless of gender. People who dont eat dog meat and pork see people eating it as wrong but people eating it dont bec. How come when you eat other meat make it morally right, it just doesnt make sense. Its also the same with vegetarians who dont eat meat bec. of their love to animals. people who think killing people are bad but think its not when it come to killing bad people or for self defence. Its the same with war, they dont think its bad bec. It is for defending their country. Thats why I dont believe in any religion, they restrict people from thinking into diff. perspective. It only makes them closeminded. They believe that everything that doesnt align with their beliefs is bad.

Aw 🥺 Beautifully stated
I've previously watched this movie 3x already . Forgot about it until your excellent recap video. You've done an outstanding job in this video covering the movie !
This movie isn't about the afterlife, it's about being human.
We all contain "judges" in our own minds who torture us because of "sins" we've committed.
We need to foster forgiveness (for self and others) and in doing so, we create defenders who stand for us against the judgment, allowing us to move on with our lives and "reincarnate".
If we remain in shame and judgment of ourselves, we become stuck and cannot grow as a person.
“Let he that is without sin cast the first stone”
Now everything makes much more sense, the depiction of these judges in the literal way made it feel like they're absolutely incompetent at their one and only job, but rather if it's our guilty conscience it would made much sense considering how long they usually take to get rid of.
Well said!

Well, it's discouraging considering ALL those deities only know half truths and judge severe punishments inaccurately solely based on little info. What I saw within the film is that mere humans and a couple guardians know better than those "Peak of Morality" deities.....
Their not the peak of morality, and they only know your sins it's up to you to show the that you don't deserve to live in their hell.

Thats why I dont believe in any religion, they restrict people from thinking into diff. perspective. i mean...this also applicable in real life. they just overlooked all the goods thing you've done for them, yet they punished and pulled you into hell just over one mistakes. all i can think is we won't be human unless you're flawed. if you afraid of making mistakes, is it too much to ask for just to reincarnate by being a space? ay, you know what? let's just keep living man.
Why isn’t this top comment???
It can also be caused by one’s grieve when looking at their past, well I never watched the real movie so I might be wrong, people often felt hopeless when they are judged based on the “sin” that they committed, even though it’s justified, they are simply too focused on their sin that they are unable to defend themselves, then I guess there’s where all those people came to play.
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved. John 3:16 (share the good news of the gospel around the world!) Have a wonderful day/night and farewell!,.,,,,,.,.,.,,..,,.,.,..,.,,..,..
Yeah, but these judges are literal gods. Can't even be bothered to check your backgrounds
this is a fatal flaw in most religions tbh. They force you to *not* do bad, fearing every action you did, rather than making you focus on doing good
Judge: You killed an ant
Guardians: There is more that meets the eye
The Man: Secretly keeping in mind that he turned his brother into an ant!
LOL!!!!!
I want to fathom how difficult and anxious it would be to complete the 7 Trails of Hell in the world of Battlefield: 2042. The last remaining Super-Powers are fighting each other for domination, as for the No-Pats are doing everything in their power to protect what’s left. They’re would be room for many Paragons, but many of those Paragons would have definitely sinned for many reasons good and evil.

Yo wtf is Dante doing here-

Just watched both films and I really enjoyed them, well worth your time. Thanx movie recap I would off not known about these 2 movies if it wasn't for your channel .
I really like how these guardians actually genuinely help Mac. Of course they have their own reasons, but they are really trying. And I do like how good it feels, to have Mac’s sins and actions forgiven and explained. Of course there are times where he regrets a lot, but he is forgiven. It gives me hope.
Somebody: Spills a drop of water
One of the judges: This could of been used to save a child dying from thirst in Africa, I sentence you to be trapped in an endless cave.
😂😂
Ok…The Africa joke is too overrated and really insulting pls stop
@@AjTory its a fucking joke
@@prvt.harumi6821 I know I just said that🤨🤨
But these kinds of jokes aren’t even funny and it clearly stems from a stereotypical outlook on Africans which I won’t support
@Purple Ray it’s like u don’t understand y I’m angry about this….
For a divine judge, they act more like a human than a divine being would.

We were made in their image! So🤷🏽♂️
@@BenLewXI oh lol
@@BenLewXI We have been corrupted tho.
@@BenLewXI i think someone just first made the humans and made the judges before them because at the first day, the “god” wouldn’t think that death would happen right after he made the creations lol

Damn, you know shits good when a RECAP to a film you’ve never seen before brings you to tears!
Imagine there is a god that isn't immortal
Ikr? Anyways first before this comment blows up.
then we wouldn't know the god existed lol
The Nordic and Egyptian ones weren’t really immortals (they could get old and died)
Kratos
@@Panzer9 hes not immortal? Idk is he? I dont know much about him bc i dont play the game. And know much about Greek Mythology
If this man can be judged as "bad" I am going straight to hell no questions then
Same
Literally most of us would do.. I doubt there's even a 1% they considered "good"
@@arenshichic1203 Even the judges weren't good
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Soo.. these judges have to go through all other people's sob stories and drama for eternity? Lol
