    So no guard has a UV flashlight? Didn't they place an explosive in the vampires' hearts in case they ran away? Do you have armored doors but above them have ventilation tunnels? And of course, in the cell area, which should be the safest area, there's literally a ladder that leads directly to the surface.

Apparently my thing is discovering shows that I really love and then finding out they got canceled long before I found them. The website's critical consensus reads, "Strong performances from leads Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Saniyya Sidney can't course correct The Passage's wayward plot and feeble tone." Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the series a score 62 out of 100 based on 17 critics.
    Lucy Mangan of The Guardian praised the father-daughter dynamic between Brad and Amy and the series' execution of a "draft" storyline. I often have the same thought. Who's to say that there couldn't be some sort of microbe or some sort of ancient other Infectious pathogen just laying around inside the tomb. But nope what do these goobers do they just crack it open with No environmental personal protection gear. All in the name of science. Yet happily forgetting that science also includes; The study of infectious pathogens.

    I had the pleasure of reading The Passage novels. While the show was okay it honestly should’ve been made into a movie trilogy. If you’ve read the novels then you’ll understand where I’m coming from because it left out so many characters from Peter, Theo, Alicia, Michael, Caleb. Not only that.. in the novel the virals actually glowed green and looked more monstrous. Patient Zero (Fanning) was the only viral who could take human form while he had his fangs he only converted back to this form after an indecent with water.
    All in all I truly enjoyed the novels I hope one day this can actually get into the right directors hands because it has so much potential to be a new great vampire trilogy.

      Read the novels a few yrs back. Loved it. One of my favorite things about the series is how the writer intergraded vampire myths into the books in realistic ways.

    • @StephenBrown-xf7dd
      @StephenBrown-xf7dd 10 місяців тому +3

      @danielmontalvo6185 Exactly!! It didn’t even feel like a vampire book until I read further. The author did such a great job with the character development in the novels from before/after the outbreak to the virals. Even though the show was okay in my opinion they should’ve made The Passage into a 3 movie trilogy because the show left out SO much it’s ridiculous.
      First and foremost they switched up Amy/the virals, Babcock was a man and not a woman who actually plays a HUGE role in the 2nd novel as well as Guilder/Lila/Grey. Anthony was nothing like how the author described him in the book, the characters AFTER the outbreak.
      Man I can go on and on but as a big fan of the novels I truly hope we can see this on the big screen because it has so much potential to be GREAT if a director of the likes of Guillermo del Toro or Sam Raimi were the ones to direct it.. one can only hope.

    As someone who is currently reading the book, it’s crazy how much they’ve changed and added, like Lacey’s story being different and Lila having a bigger role. Not necessarily bad changes. Just interesting. I wish they continued the show. It would have been cool to see the 2nd season following Peter and his friends in the Colony.

    A show with a storyline like all others that deal on disastrous vampire pandemic, is sure to suffer the same fate of ultimately getting canned because audiences eventually realize the circular nature of it: get bitten, transform, feed on victims, repeat. It goes on and on and on in circular mode. Only faces and circumstances change, but the process remains the same. Bram Stoker is rolling in the grave.
