Seriously I keep thinking that if he'd stop aggroing shopkeepers he'd see Olmec at least half the time.
@@ArchibaldClumpy Not enough. He needs to stop aggroing SKs, sacrificing himself to the spikes, throwing himself at bats or lava or carrying around the ghost pot, in fact, he should drop Volcana for a while, AND: stop worrying about the Kapala.
Egg is to blame for sure, but this game plays with your greed, man...
UPDATE: NL has dropped Volcana, but he argues against Vlad's cape. I'd say he should flat out say he can't for now do Volcana and Vlad effectively. I admit that, I tried facing that area, is hot garbage, no bullshit.

After dying due to multiple embarassing situations:

NL I feel like sometimes you don’t have to kill the shop keeper early cause you die to him a lot to him and sometimes you don’t even need the items or can afford it.
i would consider myself pretty decent at the game and yeah if you can avoid shopkeepers its for the best because they end a good chunk of all runs
I got my first win today and got like 4 times the score he got on his first win without killing any shopkeepers and spending like 100K on the black market.
Seriously, you can get on average like 16K per level on the dwellings, Derek was right when he said law-abiding runs are a lot more viable on this game than in the first one.
Has he ever tried, you know, not angering the shopkeepers?

Is this too obvious? I keep hearing him say that dealing with the shopkeepers is not a big deal. But, most of his runs end because of shopkeepers.
he'd probably have a win or 2 in this youtube series if he would go easy on killing the shopkeepers unless it was necessary.
I have no data to back this up, but I'm pretty sure 90% of NL's deaths are shop keeper related.
So, you're basically saying Spelunky 2 is the dark souls of Spelunky games

here come two of the best advice tlips for your entire spelunky career:
1. GO FASTER dont waste time sticking around enemies giving them chances to mess with you and the faster you finish the easy parts of the level the longer you have for decision making when you meet something difficult
2. DONT FIGHT ENEMIES FOR NO REASON if you can run past/jump over an enemy you cut your chances of getting hit by that enemy by a ton

He’s thinking if he jumped on to the turkey as a mount it would run wild during the taming process, carrying him to a lower level. He just doesn’t know yet that the way the blocks are set up there wouldn’t allow it

@@MystFGO I don’t know if he’s encountered it yet really though. It’s never a bad thing to be extra cautious. After all, we don’t come to NL for top tier gameplay, we come for his personality and all that
@@wollywog42 there are many times during this series that he has indeed tamed a turkey in a situation where it will bang up against a duckable overhang leading to a fall and another wall, so yeah. It's pretty hilarious that information hasn't come to light within egg's egg

the order you sacrifice doesn't matter! Also you can just chill on the ladder and throw a skull at the boss on 1-4 to trigger him rolling. Way safer! Excited for the pog that surely follows this episode.

One advantage of the power pack is that you can shoot the shotgun from ladders or ropes without the knockback knocking you off.

I don't want to defend OJ here, but I'm pretty sure that even a mediocre public prosecutor would point out that a dozen shopkeeopers murdered on the way to the floor with seven guys is a bit more than two people murdered, if math does not fail me.

with how much content NL pumps out its pretty easy to get fatigued by all the choices youre probably falling behind on, but the spelunky 2 series has been a killer since day 1

Honestly NL should stop killing shop keepers, it's better to sacrifice the early game because being hunted adds a ton of difference in the long run.
I got my first hundun kill when i stopped killing shopkeepers and just buy what i can from them.

I feel like volcano is like extra hard mode. Instead of spike traps, every pit of lava is an unpredictable, 8 directional, 1hko, long range spike trap.
