You did a fantastic job. It really turned out beautiful. The red pin stripping is awesome. All your hard work most certainly paid off. A beautiful finished project. Safe travels!
your video was worth the wait, Ed! I had some of those same rust issues under the fiberglass on my Roadtrek (but I'm not handy enough to fix - I outsourced it :-)). Great Job!!
This is what I needed!! I just got a chevy express conversion - and I want to pull the panels off and do the same thing. I think I am going higher with the liner, but either way, this is the help I needed!
Fantastic job! I always prefer older model cars/vans, but making it yours takes elbow grease. I really love it and gonna try and find myself an astrovan. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
@@Hanginwithherky You are so right. When I took care of my mom in Michigan I bought a 1997 Ford explorer and shopped at the car part store same as yours. What a massive find and fixed my explorer up really well. I prefer leaving all that new technology behind. Great job on your update. You all enjoy your travels.
Taking the cladding off and painting my 03 astro next week. What bed liner did you use, how did you apply it, and how did you do the pinstripe? It looks really clean. Any tips would be useful.
If I had to do it over I would not have used bed liner. The dirt sticks to it really bad. I should have used rustolium enamel paint and applied it with a brush. For the pin strip I just used pinstripe tape it has held up well.
WOW!!! I LEARNED ALOT WITH YOUR VIDEO! YOUR TRUCK LOOKS GREAT!!! I USE FLUID FILM AND IT REALLY WORKS WELL. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! NEW SUB. ALWAYS THUMBS UP!!!
Hi Mike, I got a little long winded in the video but I hope you enjoyed it. We are driving the Astro to Alaska this summer so stay tuned for more video.
Looks 👍 Great! Did you have trouble getting the tape and adhesive off where cladding was at? Or can you tell me the Best way to remove it plz? Thx much 😊
Some folks use a eraser wheel but I liked just using 3M industrial citrus cleaner and a plastic scraper. It’s not too bad of a job just takes a little patience
that is so funny. so i bought a astro van in oregon where i had to take a grey hound to see it. i ended up buying it but after i got home i decided i wanted to go out for a walk. then i see a HHR for 500$ like yours with the same color. i bought that car the same week. oops! btw did you use the ladder?
Get AAA Auto towing Insurance be sure to ask for the PLUS because that will give you 100 mile towing should you need it. Less than $100. a year. It's so good I don't even want to drive my rig without it. Just saying.
The finished product is awesome. Jack looks great. Great work. The video wasn’t bad at all.
I like the way it’s looking but there is always a project to do but you know because you helped me on one.
Jack looks great you did a amazing job, makes me miss my Astrovan.
Go buy another LOL. They are getting harder to com by these days.
Well Done Ed! The van looks really sharp!
This is beautiful! Great job and with that textured coating and color scheme, Jack is ready for some manly rock sliders!
Super happy with the way it turned out.
Ed, your how-to videos are always informative. Thanks!
Thanks I am working on getting better with them but I enjoy the vlog better
You did a great job. Jack looks great.
Jack is very lucky to have a caretaker like you.

We like to pin strip too nice touch
Ed, Jack looks great and it is a great improvement having all of that plastic trim off of it.
I think so also thanks Steve
Jack ASTRO has a Jack of all Trades for an owner! It's amazing how much you take care of yourself, Ed! Great job, as usual!
Thanks for the compliment fixing things is something I enjoy

I am sure yours looks better as I am not a professional but we like the way it turned out. Thanks Tom

The bed liner looks cool but the rough surface is had to keep clean. I love the express van also.
@@Hanginwithherky I kind of figured that. My husband wants to stay lower, I just want to hide some of the blemishes :)
Great job! Now I want an Astrovan
Jump on some of the Astrovan FB pages. You may find one at a good price. They are getting hard to find at a good price.
Boy sure looks good !
Thanks for the Cladding removal video as I to need to do that to my GMC Safari.
Your welcome
Fantastic job! I always prefer older model cars/vans, but making it yours takes elbow grease. I really love it and gonna try and find myself an astrovan. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
Older models are less complicated so it’s better for DIY’er like myself.. you should find you a old Astro

Awesome Job Jack👍
It’s a beast now. Adventures ahead

Your van colors reminds me of the Safari GT or the Astro RS well done
Thanks , love this van

My first Astro was a 1989 with no cladding. Looking for another and will make sure it doesn't have cladding either! Mike
Just can’t see what under it so that really why I pulled it off.
Doing the same thing to my astro this year. Unfortunately my rockers are rotten and need replacement both sides. Keep the old girl running!
Best of luck to you
The cladding looks cool tho
I would keep it but I am going for a different look and they hide the rust. We love Astrovans with or without the cladding.

Have not used the ladder yet and I gave the HHR to our daughter as a second car. The HHR has 260 k on it and is still going strong.
@@Hanginwithherky yeah i got one and i think there pretty good. but im selling mine because im one man.
How did you get the old adhesive off?
The best is 3M citrus industrial remover spray. The wheel did little to help but that spray is amazing

Yes we have top of the line AAA plus RV
Good video except I want tp put them on from parts van to cover up some rust. Nobody here will do rust repairs. 3 grand and up.
I had some rust I repaired with fiberglass. It’s not the greatest but I was able to do myself
