Thanks for this vid Sir! I have a 2000 GMC Safari AWD! Mike Z has an informative motor mount vid as well! This one reconfirmed what she said and I am confident now this is the way to go!
Yes , I was too weak to install these mounts and my spacer plates so had a shop install them . Mechanic said he had to grind down a little steel on the poly steel tube tab ear to get it to mate with the upper mount . I feel zero vibration from the poly mounts and no more harmonic balancer pulley rub on the steering bar. Good riddens to that problem. No need to try and space the idlers. Every time I've replaced worn idlers I could never tell a diff in handling or steering so I'm running them into the ground from now on .
I just bought my 97 Astro with plans to lower it. I was told it needs motor mounts, since I’ve noticed problems with it not wanting to go into gear (automatic) and being sluggish while driving. One can only assume they correlate, thanks for the video
You're very kind thank you. I've made it a year and 4 months so far . Trying hard to endure the horrific treatments and troop on . Blows my mind that ive been able to fix and maintain my van . Ive always said try before you say you can't ,, you just might surprise yourself. God bless
in the process of buying engine mounts of my astro van 04 AWD no lift, etc, i found out that these mounts were installed in a lot of cars and truck, not just astros or safari. so i can easily go to the junk yards and find these vehicle and remove and then install them in my astro van. like s10, c1500, c2500, sonoma, pontiac jimmy, etc.
In my Astro i found engine cooling fan that rubs with lower fan shroud, today I was checking my radiator, and I found lower fan shroud severely grinded due to tired engine mounts. I´ve the idea that is not easy to changing engine mounts. Thanks to share.
great info....i had that annoyng grinding noise and thought it was my steering pump going out on me....loose idler arm that dropped ...im sure my mounts are shot also ..that wll be next project
Good stuff Marc. Big fan of Journey's as well. Mike and Tom are great guys. I looked for the motor mounts on both Prothanes and Energy Suspension... did not locate them. I hope your limited slip front end is also working out well. I hooked Mike up with the Lunch Box design and need to do the same form me. Get well
Love your attention to detail. I have a 2000 AWD w 190k miles on. My front axle is almost kissing my oil pan now. I've been dreading this forever becasue of all the misinformation everywhere on AWDs. Do you by any chance have links or even just the part numbers for both engines mounts you have and the transmission mount? (Also, hope you're still thriving, you're in my thoughts and prayers man!)
When the motor mounts were reinstalled with the 1/4 spacer, did the exhaust manifold clear on the drivers side? Mine is contacting the exhaust manifold with the 1/4 spacer
Good luck im stage4 last 5yrs doing it without whitecoat poison.. laetrile is only way to go check it out may be why im still here and active with bone cancer originally prostate cancer spread almost everywhere since but still here on laetrile!!
Good God'' 3 3/4 INCH Galvanized nuts & a sheet of 1/2 inch kitchen nylon cutting board will solve any & All of your mount Problems.. ((( Think Redneck ))) !

U could get a drag link made that has a tiny u bend in it? The ends are stock but the center is just a little lower

I just turned 52..
Where do you get your new poly bushings from . I must have missed it.
Got them from prothanes website and energy suspensions website.
So... the urethane is the same for 2wd and awd? But the stamping in different? What's the prothane part number?
Its been a year now... how are the Prothane bushings holding up?
Wheres their link? I need some 95 motor mount upgrades
👍👍
No description tags geez got do that
Actually, NAPA buys the ANCHOR Mounts and puts them into their system with a NAPA part# So you are buying ANCHOR!
