Grateful as always for your videos! The stream of consciousness is super therapeutic.
Something I'm trying to find is that late teen -> early 20 something mindset of "Why not?" when being faced with new things/ leaving our comfort zone. Almost like rebellion I guess lol. That sense of wonder and somewhat half-baked planning, I feel, is the key to happiness, and if we can just find a way to tap into that energy where we aren't scared to try new things, in fact we CRAVE it, it could easily overwrite the conditioning of regret and past narratives. I mean if we're gonna have a narrative to go by why not mindfully follow the young adult approach in situations? :P

      Glad you enjoyed!
There's certainly something to be said for modeling a different mindset. Many successful (or at least what conventional society would deem successful) people talk about simply asking "what would my hero do?" and doing that.
Some people even take it further and develop an Alter Ego, a second sort of personality they channel for challenges. Fairly common with musicians and athletes.
I think that "why not?" mindset associated with early 20s is great in a lot of ways if you can channel the openness and adventure aspect! I think there are probably also some darker elements in that a lot of people that age actually act fairly irresponsibly out of self-loathing and self-destructiveness, and that sometimes gets mistaken for being "free spirited"
But! I'm 100% for capturing that adventurous, living more in the moment, craving new experiences and freedom from the comfort zone. I think that's the essence of being alive in a lot of ways. When we start getting stuck in our narrative and building an identity based on ideas and past concepts, we start building our self concept out of things that are dead. We start to get more attached to the way things used to be, or how it was better in the past, and we become more rigid.
I think capturing the essence of that openness and wonder to new experiences and changes is a big part of being "alive". You're much less rigid and worried if you're enjoying being wherever you are in the moment!

@@andrewvanhoff I definitely agree with the sentiment about the darker aspect of the young mindset! It's a really a good thing to keep in mind. You know, some of the happiest people I've ever met are the kind of people with the child-like wonder and adventure, and I'd kinda like to find that sense again.
