    Have watched many vids on piping and yours has the most detail (e.g., measuring for piping strip). Easy to follow, as well. Thank you!

    I found your video because I was perplexed as to how to mend my eye mask that has piping. Then it dawned on me that I wasn't turning it inside out and that's why I couldn't get the stitching right! I just recently started dabbling in seeing by altering various items of clothing, and my eye masks that I love but were too thin and too short so I made them more plush and longer as well. I have no idea what I'm doing LOL but I'm having a lot of fun doing it and getting better all the time 🤗 Thanks for your help in my new-found hobby!

    I've been frustrated that my original line of stitching always shows after I have sewn all parts d the cushions cover. This is because other tutorials tell you to sew as close to the piping as you can when you first insert the cord. Your approach is much better. Thank you!

      Use a cording foot. Its a must have. Most home sewing machines are low shank and occasionally the slanted shank. Go here...they are hands down the best for explaining to beginners. www.sewingpartsonline.com/juki-sewing-machines.aspx?sort.ss_cat_sort=desc&index=1

    I just placed an order for some cording to make piping for a pillow I'm making. I ordered cotton macrame cord. You didn't mention that type of cord, but do you think it will work okay? I read a couple of articles that said it work work fine. What do you think?

    Great totural but do u have to use a zipper foot.cant regular zipper foot be used

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  6 років тому

      Hi Dionne, in order to get close enough to the cording, a zipper foot or a foot made specifically for piping is needed. If you tried to use a regular foot, the cording would be very loose in the fabric.

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  9 років тому +2

      +TierraFuerte47 I'm using just a standard zipper foot that came with the machine. A foot made specifically for piping would work best, but this gets the job done!

    • @zoem6312
      @zoem6312 3 місяці тому

      It’s when you mark out an inch or two of extra fabric from the edge you’ll be sewing in so it’s easier to sew on that line. Hope that makes sense

    You know the metrification of America depends on people like you?
    The longer you continue to teach by the old Imperial style, the longer the switch over is going to take.
    You do know that the U.S. is the very last major economy to cling on to these old units?
    What say you?
    What say you to your kids?
    The whole world is metric aprt from the U.S.
    Wouldn't you like to be part of the *_"Vanguard" ?_*
    I know I would.
