    Do you use the Ronnie rig in your carp fishing? I've found it leads to hook pulls and mouth damage. This rig is one of the best carp rigs I've found and allows you to fish and hookbait and present well over and lake bed 😉

    Thanks for the video Simon, lots of technicl concepts in a simple rig there. A suggestion when tying the albright, work from the spool with the Amnesia as it keeps the boom section out of the way when tying. You can then simply pull off the length you require to tie the figure of eight loop in the end of the boom.

    Used this rig about 5yrs ago if there's lots of small fish on your lake bream and tench when they pluck at the baits it pulls the hook down so your rig is out there for hrs not fishing efficiently it could also mean you've been done by a carp if there's loads of small stuff just use steamed down tubing on the hook

    Great video Simon, when I first came across this rig a while ago I was convinced this was my go to. But why isn't it?! Unable to easily use pva mesh with it, and also the slip multi D will tangle on casts (without tape) still yet to thoroughly test this but I believe you could just use a multi rig for bottom bait, ie no supple part (just a slightly longer break I coating and putty or sinkers only on swivel side of the break - not hook side. Mechanically becomes identical to something like that noodle rig. Anyway they all work generally 👊

    • @jasonwalton4876
      @jasonwalton4876 2 роки тому +1

      Yep. Any weight on the hook pulls the slip D back. And it can tangle at range. Can slide a PVA stick down the rig tho. Works well. And prevents the D moving back or tangling on long chucks.

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  2 роки тому

      I recon you could use a PVA bag for short range and then if going for a big chuck then a trimmed down foam nugget to stop tangles 👌

    Great video thanks for that from the Netherlands.
    I have only one question , how long do you keep the slip D multi combi rig in total ?
    Normal I keep my rig from the piont of the hook till the loop 18 centimeter or 7 inch.This rig looks A bit longer than 7 inch .

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. The rig length depends on a few things. The size of the fish, the baiting situation and the lakebed. Generally I fish it longer for bigger fish and a spread of boilies. Shorter for a spodded area or smaller fish etc 👌

    TIA and Tight Lines Brethren 🎣☕

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  Рік тому

      Hi Ian. The two materials give the best of both worlds. The stiffer amnesia helps stop tangles and aids to kick the rig away from the lead and the supple braid allows natural movement of the hookbait and hook and also aids the hook in turning and catching in the fishes mouth. You could tie the same rig with coated braid and strip the section near the hook but I like this rig on clear waters where the fish can see everything 👌

  • @bulletjunky3039

    I use either stringers or mesh sticks when fishing ,on helicopter. Im wondering if these wouldn’t work with this rig due to the weight making the slip d pull the wafter back to the eye of the hook on casting…..I haven’t been fishing long and would ask if that is the case with this rig.Which by the way looks a great rig to use.pls could u let me no ??

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  2 роки тому

      I've not had this problem mate as I mostly fish short range so no big casts but if you're worried you could attach the string to the D loop on the hook rather than the hook itself 👌

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  Рік тому

      Yeah the braid gets pulled down to the eye like a multi rig. You just pull it back via the bait or hook ring swivel. You can also replace the hook with a fresh one if you need to and the rig is ready to go again 👍

  • @fenlandperchfishing1458
    @fenlandperchfishing1458 2 роки тому +2

    It’s a multi Combi rig, there’s no slip d involved, Martin Clarkes slip d the original the d does not move or tighten down on itself as it’s whipped to the shank. Save you a bit more of a mouthful when naming it in future as all this rig represents is a multi rig on the hook attachment and a Combi where it joins the flouro👌🏻

    • @SimonDewCarpFishing
      @SimonDewCarpFishing  2 роки тому

      Have to disagree there mate. A slip D has a D section made of supple braid on the shank which slides out of the way when the bait is blown out. This rig achieves the exact same effect 👍
