    This is my uncles engine he is running it in a Toyota celica, he is racing in heathcote in a couple of weeks. He is also the lad in the grey shirt at 2:48. The old girl runs sweet and has no problems heard the thing in real life not long ago and man does this thing sing.

    Monster, detune that a little, shift it at 6500. There you have a 750 hp engine you can drive for at least 100K. Awesome

    We got same Basics, But those A460 heads flow like Big Chiefs and thats Pure Power. Im still conventional. Im going to the New MIBs on mine soon. someone did some Good head work on this Motor.

      Curtis Mavis Huff ever looked into the Kaase SR71’s ford heads? They’ve made 1200 on a 598”

      I own both...Still believe 460 A head is a Better overall Race head...But the Sr-71's are the Premier....Stock exhaust port location 385 Series Cylinder Head....My SR's actually flow a bit better on the intake port....But the Raised exhaust port and larger
      1.900 exhaust valve beats the Sr by 60cfm....

    2:47 "hooked up the vacuum pump and put 11 1/2 inches of vacuum" So they are evacuating the air out of the crankcase to increase power output?

    • @JlerchTampa
      @JlerchTampa 5 років тому +4

      @wouter kellerman No doubt about the level of competence! I also heard a similar story years ago from a race engine build team that built 4 identical motors, dyno'd them and one made significantly more power than the others. Upon investigation it was learned the crankcase vent plug hadn't been removed during assembly and the oil scavenge pumps were pulling a vacuum on the crankcase resulting in the power increase. The comment in this video caught my attention as I hadn't heard of anyone doing it on purpose before, neat!

    • @rickh633
      @rickh633 4 роки тому +3

      @@JlerchTampa I been doing that since 2000. first with used 3 stage dry sump pumps now we use 5 or 6 stage pumps. we use custom teflon crank seals and contact cement on the gaskets so they dont get sucked in. at 15in + of vacuum, also steel sandwich gaskets were ever u can.

    Does your dyno have its own vacuum pump? Just wondering why the pump on the engine and its braided hose are just hanging.

    There’s something there that doesn’t sound right to me, like a fuel knocky missfirey sound, and u can see the big girl shutter slightly on the stand when she does it... all I know is if that was my engine, and I was present... I’d be asking questions
