In this gentle and nurturing class, we'll explore the profound benefits of Yin Yoga while using the support of the wall to deepen our practice. 🧘‍♀️
This class combines the best of upper body, chest opening and shoulder releasing yin yoga along with hip opening yin yoga with the wall.
We will begin by releasing your chest and shoulders with your heart meridian and the lung meridian. These yin yoga poses will improve your posture and breathing mechanics and also release your upper back, neck and shoulder tension. 💫
We will move into some legs up the wall and deep hip releases that will relieve low back pain as well as calm and soothe your nervous system. 💫

I'm a wallflower now - surprising (or maybe not...) how repeating the same holds brings so much more opening.

It is definitely a highly overlooked technique in yoga.

I didn’t like doing the heart opening pose, but I’m so glad that I stuck with it. My upper body is thanking me and I thank you also for a great practice.

I really enjoyed this class and how open my chest is feeling, thank you so much! I had randomly grabbed a pair of green sweatpants this morning from the way back of my bottom drawer and throughout the entire practice seeing my legs as these vibrant green stems - just awesome how that aligned for me today 🙏😁

after many years of practicing yoga, i finally decided to sign up for yoga teacher training just for myself. i think of you as one of my yogi inspirations and hope my future yoga will remain informed by your unique style and wisdom 😌

That's fantastic! I've done my ytt online and only have my final written, a 45 min class for labourers, and my practical, which my daughter has very kindly offered to be my student. I've got a lot wrong with my spine and yoga has helped so much. I feel I need to pay back and help others like myself. While I won't be doing headstands, I'm going to do my absolute best to bring my students what they need. I wish you the best of luck. Here's to a successful future as yoga teachers 🥂🙏🏼🧘🏼‍♀️💜

@@shinystar1781thanks so much. I'll be the same, I want to bring more breath work and meditation to my students. I loved my teacher but felt that part of yoga was lacking in her classes. I would've preferred 10 minutes less of poses and that time spent on teaching meditation or doing yoga nidra instead of a 5 minute savasana. I live in Scotland and when I enrolled for the course, I told them what kind of teacher I want to be and they said the yoga community is desperate for teachers like me. I understand wanting to make a class mostly about the poses but I want to bring something a bit special to my students. I paid £30 for a class that was 90 minutes of yin, sound bath and yoga nidra. I was so excited because I'd only done a sound bath and yoga nidra at home. The sound bath was a small singing bowl, like my own, which she played for about 2 minutes and passed around the class, she didn't do a yoga nidra either. Talk about disappointed! If I tell my students there's going to be a sound bath, they're going to get a good 10-15 minutes of tibetan singing bowls. Even if it is a recording on Spotify 😂😂. It feels nice communicating with someone who is starting a new venture in life. I'm so excited for you and you'll be an amazing teacher. Probably my favourite thing about the yoga community is how supportive and accepting people are, makes such a difference

I think one of the biggest misconceptions I had when I did my yoga teacher training is how much time I thought I would spend teaching headstands. Which is like NEVER now. For me, I look at what a pose can do for people and I am way more interested in helping people restore their energy, relieve pain, regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with their hearts these days. Headstands are definitely not necessary.

In that first pose do the legs should be straight or with a slight bend?...

Whatever is most comfortable for you, for me it was more a more comfortable edge to have a slight bend in my knees.
